Positives:
-The condos were a good size
-It was close to the outlet malls and parks
-Pool is a good size
-Service was fine
-Good value

Negatives:
-No on-site restaurant
-We did get a large insect in our bed - who knows it could have flown in from outside? I left it dead on the bed for house cleaning to deal with and they didn't notice it and just brushed it on the floor. They did send up housecleaning immediately when I notified the front desk.
-Pool is good but doesn't compare to the Marriot Harbour Lake for kids (we stayed there as well this trip). If you are a family contemplating the two and willing to spend the extra, the activities at the Marriot will blow your mind.

Room Tip: - With families try and get a room close to the pool as it is a bit of a walk otherwise.

Thank you so much for making us a part of your trip. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback to the TripAdvisor community. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the spacious suites, pool area, and location of the resort. We would like to offer our sincere apologies that an insect made it's way into your room. You are correct that it came from the outside, as Florida is naturally home to many different types of creatures. We do work with the top pest company in the area to do our best to keep them outdoors. We appreciate you allowing us to take care of that for you. We hope that you will accept our apologies and consider staying with us on your next visit to Orlando.

Last year we spent 5 nights at animal kingdom lodge. That was wonderful but very expensive. We wanted to spend a week this year and chose Floridays based on the reviews. I think you have to have realistic expectations here. For the price of a Disney mid-level you can have a car and a two bedroom apartment with a balcony. The kids love the pool and it's a quick drive to Disney. The rooms are pretty good although we could here people above us and in the halls. I think if you are staying a week they should offer one good cleaning.

Stayed at Floridays in March 2014. The people were friendly, the rooms were large and held quite a few people. They were also closer to Universal and very close to Sea World. We had 2 kids, 2 parents and a grandparent and there was still a lot of room. A couple of years earlier we stayed at WorldQuest and so we were comparing against Worldquest. Floridays had a few areas where they could improve. The food by the pool is poor. At other hotels we consider hotel restaurants as an option if we want fast, ok, and convenient or if we want to have a fun time and order room service. After one meal we decided that their food would be a last resort. It wasn't very good (a step below a mid-low end chain). On a couple of occasions there were miscommunications between the front desk and maid and maintenance. The maintenance guy showed up the first day to fix the toilet. He thought he was coming to a vacant room and didn't know what he was supposed to fix when he got there. Cleaning showed up at 8:30 am one day when they incorrectly had us checking out. We often returned mid day around 3 pm for a break from the theme parks and the maid service still hadn't come. Other stuff: There was a broken off plug in one of the electrical plugs and a couple lights didn't work.

One more thing: The traffic patterns to get to the pool were weird. We were in a building adjacent to the pool yet we had a fairly long walk to get to the pool and I asked for that building because I wanted the kids to just be able to run out the door to get to the pool.

They did have on site Starbucks which was nice.

Overall, it was okay because it was big and near Universal and the kids loved the pool but I don't think we would go back. There are just to many really nice hotels in Orlando.

John, thank you for sharing your feedback with the TripAdvisor community. We are glad to know that you did enjoy the spacious suites as well as the friendly service throughout your stay. We are very sorry to hear that your experience with our Palm Cafe was well below our normal standards. We usually hear very positive feedback from our guests regarding this food. We will be passing along these comments to be addressed internally with our staff. We also apologize that a miscommunication resulted in you being disturbed in your suite. This is something that we would never want our guests to experience, and we are sincerely sorry for this.

Thank you again for your comments and feedback, we will take these all into consideration as we strive to consistently provide our guests with a great experience. It is our hope that you will accept our apologies and consider staying with us again when your family returns to the Orlando area.

We stayed at the Floridays for four nights (April 5-9). This by far is the best resort we have stayed in the many times we have visited Orlando. The front desk staff was excellent, the rooms were very spacious and clean and the location was ideal to everything. Very close to all theme parks. We definitely will be staying here again next Spring Break.

We stayed here last August and had a wonderful trip. The staff, the hotel and all the amenities were perfect. We therefore booked in January to come back for Easter. There are six large buildings of multiple apartments that make up the resort. Blocks A and B are very close to the main pool and dining area. I contacted the management regarding apartment preferences as the only issue last time was that the apartment had such a deep concrete balcony wall that when you sat down, if felt as though you were trapped in a concrete sarcophagus! I asked as well, that if possible, could we have a condo in block A. This was important as I am travelling alone with my two daughters and at the age of 12 they want a little freedom but I am not comfortable at allowing them to wander through semi-unlit areas by themselves. In Blocks A and B there is a proximity that would give them the freedom and me some peace of mind. I did think that booking three months in advance would have facilitated this. When we arrived yesterday however we were offered two of the furthest away blocks. Block F, which is as far as you can get from the main area or Block C which is nearer but that looks over a road. We have chosen the 'road view' as this is best for the girls but my dreams of sitting reading with my daughters on the balcony (the one thing I couldn't do last time!) are non-existent. Particularly as there is only one chair! At reception I did ask about upgrading to a three bed apartment and was told that if I had booked direct they would have allowed me to upgrade for $50 a night but because I used Expedia they would charge me more than double! It is a shame as this is a lovely resort and the girls were adamant that they wanted to return here and nowhere else, but at the moment this is not proving all that we expected.

Room Tip: Blocks A and B if you have children and you are a single parent.

This is a nice place to stay and it is very convenient to the parks and restaurants in the area.
They do have a shuttle to the parks, but i would recommend a car to get around in.
Also, avoid the second floor rooms if you can as the balconies are not open and are kind of gloomy.

Room Tip: Avoid second floor rooms. B Building was very convenient for the pool and lobby area.

We just returned from a week long stay at Floridays, March 29-April 5. We debated between this property and staying at a Disney hotel. With two young children, ages 22 months and 5, we decided to stay at Floridays because of the amenities. We stayed in the "E" building, which was generally quiet and just a quick walk to the main pool/lobby/gym area. There was a smaller pool right near our building, but we only used the larger pool.

Our room was like a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. The master had a king bed and a huge bathroom with separate shower and large whirlpool tub. The other bedroom had two full size beds. It also had a sleeper sofa. We loved having a full kitchen and dining room, and although I didn't think I would be doing laundry on vacation I did.....and it was very nice to have a washer and dryer in our room. With young kids, it was so nice nice to have snacks and drinks on hand. We also saved some money by having some of our meals in the room.

Since this is an extended stay type of place, the daily maid service is not full service. They do come in everyday to remove garbage, make beds and freshen towels. They do offer more full service housekeeping for a fee, but we did not request this.

The main pool area was truly family friendly. The shallow end was great because you could walk in and there were several fun water features for the kids. On another end of the pool complex, there was a sandy area with beach toys. We spent at least some time here everyday, using the pool and hot tub. We also loved the fact we could get food and drinks at the bar/ cafe just a few steps away from the pool. The cafe also carried items such as laundry detergent singles, which came in handy. There are abundant pool towels available as well.

The hotel did offer shuttle service to Epcot, but we drove ourselves. I believe the Disney parks were roughly 15-20 minutes away, and relatively easy to find from this location. About one block away is a Publix grocery store, Walgreens and a variety of restaurants.

The hotel website mentioned a grocery service called Garden Grocer. Normally I would do my own shopping, but with a very late arrival and early next morning, I thought I should have a few basics delivered. I placed an order online and was thrilled to find our groceries in our room when we arrived after 11pm.

The only slightly negative thing was we had ordered a crib for our room. When we arrived at the hotel, very late at night, the front desk was aware of the crib request, but it was not in our room. Housekeeping did bring one to our room, but it took a little awhile to get. It would have been nice if it was in our room and set up, ready for a tired toddler. This was a little annoying that night, but not a deal breaker.

Overall we really liked this resort and would definitely consider staying here again. Our room was spacious and the location was convenient for us.

Room Tip: My guess is that the buildings closest to the main pool would be noisier, as the pool is very busy w...

Thanks for the great review! We are so glad that you and your family decided to stay with us. Thank you for describing all of your favorite features of the two-bedroom suite. It is wonderful to know how much you enjoyed the main pool area with the water playscape and sandy area. We sincerely apologize that the crib was not in your room prior to your arrival. We will definitely address that internally. We are so glad you would consider returning in the future. We hope to welcome you back!
