Myself and my boyfriend stayed here the first week of November, and first initial impressions on arrival were OK - we knew that we got what we had paid for as we were not looking for a fancy hotel as we knew we would be out at the theme parks all day almost every day. Prior to arriving, I had been speaking with one of the general managers via email to arrange shuttle bus transportation to the Disney park the day after we arrived, which he was more than happy to arrange for us prior to check-in (we had seen on reviews that they get booked up fast so didn't want to not get booked on!). Unfortunately, when we got to our room our keys didn't work so we had to go back and get them changed which isn't ideal after a 15-hour journey. When we got into our room, our beds were poorly made with a single bed sheet crumpled underneath the double bed, so we had to take the bed sheets apart to try and amend the mess the maids had left us with. In doing so, myself and my boyfriend noticed numerous stains (very obvious stains) on all aspects of the bed sheets, from the bottom sheet to the pillow covers. Fortunately, as we had two double-beds, we managed to mix and match the bed linen and get into a clean bed. This isn't ideal and you'd certainly not expect to get in a hotel that's got stained sheets and have to do the bedding yourself on arrival! Not to mention the mould on the lamp and foundation stains on one of our towels... In hindsight, we should have taken photographs of these problems.

I'm not one to complain too much as I know that you get what you pay for, but after this stay and the level of cleanliness, I won't be looking to stay again. Having said this, the hotel staff on reception and in the cafe are lovely and are happy to give you their recommendations and book taxi's etc. The taxi from the airport cost us $50 and a taxi to Disney Springs cost us $30. The shuttle busses are very efficient and are a fabulous service, however, it'd be better if there was a later one than 10pm as we had to cut the fireworks short at Magic Kingdom to enable us to get back to Epcot in time for the last bus. The shuttle bus to Epcot took around 30-minutes and the shuttle bus to Universal Studios took us around 15-minutes (from Universal you can get on their transportation to Volcano Bay and you can get Disney's own transportation to other parks other than Epcot).

Lovely area, great service and friendly staff but the cleanliness of the rooms really let us down. It's in an ideal location if you don't want to rent a car as there is quite a bit in walking distance (e.g. Pirates Cove Golf, Madame Tussauds, Sea Life, Coca-Cola Eye etc...)

Room Tip: Get a pool-facing room otherwise you'll be looking at the car park or main road

This place was NOT what it looked like on their website. It was filthy! Our room was dirty, our feet were black from walking around it, the couch looked like it was 30 yrs old out of a garage sale. We layered 5 sheets across it before sitting on it. The A/C unit smelled like mold and made my son w asthma very sick! We arrived at 10:45pm for checkin and went to get food which was suppose to be open til 11 - they refused service bc they already cleaned the kitchen. People were noisy and partying til 2am. NOT a family friendly atmosphere. We checked out at 730am and found a much nicer place!

If you're looking for a place to stay on International Drive and want good value, this is a good choice. Check in was quick and easy, and the staff on reception that I dealt with (Elizabeth and Shantelle) were friendly and accommodating.

The room was clean (our floor was clean - have noticed other reviewers complaining about the floor) and comfortable. The bathroom was quite dated, however the shower was hot and pretty powerful. The beds were comfortable. The AC is quite loud and the weather was quite warm when we visited, so it was necessary to leave it on at night.

The pool area is large and nice, with plenty of sun loungers available - although I'm not sure if that would necessarily be the case during high season. There is a bar, as well as a café adjacent to the pool, although at $8 for a can of beer, we opted to buy a few beers at the store across from the hotel and kept them in the fridge in our room. There is also a Starbucks in the reception building.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the immediate area around the hotel, including lots of chains like Denny's, Hooters, Millers Ale House and Howl At The Moon.

The hotel provides a shuttle service to the theme parks, but pre-booking this is recommended. When we went to book ourselves onto it for a day trip to Universal, the bus was full. To the hotel's credit, they organized a complimentary taxi to bring us there instead. Fair play!

I'd have no hesitation in booking in here again if I returned to Orlando.

We stayed at the Avant in October 2017. We travelled with our son, his wife and two sons. The hotel gave us adjoining rooms, the balcony meant we could sit outside our rooms for a drink once the boys were in bed. The hotel is conveniently situated on International Drive to be able to walk to nearby restaurants and attractions. The hotel has a lovely pool and jacuzzi which the children enjoyed. We hired a car, but the hotel did offer complementary transfers to Disney and universal. Our room was well equipped with a large walk in shower, tv, fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. The staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Great facilities, hot tub, gym , Starbucks in lobby, Room are very spacious but where we were in block one was very noisy at night.

Carlos on the bell desk is very friendly and attentive and nothing is to much trouble. On the other hand the girl on the concierge desk leaves a lot to be desired she was very unhelpful. The girls on the check in desk are lovely and give a really good first impression. I would come back as the location is great but I would ask for a different block.
