“Another great stay!”
Reviewed 26 May 2012

This was our second trip to this resort. We stayed here last October as well. On this occasion we were accompanied by our son and his girlfriend, they are in their early 20's. All of us enjoyed the stay. The resort was a bit more crowded this time but not overly so. We enjoyed building 50 and requested it again for this stay, which the staff happily obliged.
The only issue we encountered was a boat house employee who was more concerned with power washing the dock than he was in opening the boat house on time. He literally looked at us waiting and then turned away and went on about power washing. He only opened it after we walked away which was 10-15 minutes after the posted opening time. It was the only non-customer service situation we encountered. The rest o the staff was very friendly and helpful! This was fairly minor in the grand scheme of things.

We really love this resort and will be back.

As I mentioned before we like building 50 because it is a short walk to either the main pool or the bayside pool and it always nice to have options. It is also near the entrance and exit which is handy if you have a car and come and go a lot.

We just got back from a week here and it was great! The staff is great and the room was perfect. We stayed in the two bedroom in building 63 and we loved the location. We were a short walk from the pool and we were right beside a play area for the kids. We were 5 minutes from Sea world and 10-15 minutes from Disney. I loved the screened in patio at the room for the kids. I feel bad saying anything bad because everything was so great. Although when we arrived they check in was 45 minutes late and they wouldn't extend our check out by that time. We also found the pull out couch very uncomfortable. We weren't expecting anything to great it is a pull out couch after all but still worth a heads up just in-case. This is a great place to travel with family of all ages!!!!!!

We swapped our timeshare through Interval International last month for a week at Marriott’s Cypress Harbour. We were extremely pleased with our experience at this resort from the moment we reserved our week all the way through our time to check out. I had the occasion to call a couple times before we arrived to ask questions and to inquire about a wheelchair rental/delivery and I found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating. We even received the building and floor we expressed a preference for in advance (near the Island Pool on an upper floor).

As you can see from the photos I attached along with those from other travelers, the Cypress Harbour is a beautiful property. It is nicely landscaped and even has a koi pond at the entrance. Although I never had the time to walk over, they have a nature trail on the east side of the main lagoon. The 2 pool areas I sat at are terraced with plenty of chairs and lots of palm trees if you want shade. Both pools have hot tubs and smaller pools with water features for kids. You can sit in the sun in lounge chairs around the pool near all the action, on the dock overlooking the lagoon, down on the sand at the “beach”, or nestled away by yourself under a palm tree near a hot tub. A wooden walkway over the lagoon makes it easy to move between the two main pools. By the main pool area, there is a quick service restaurant with covered outdoor seating, a separate bar area (with Happy Hour specials in the afternoons when we were there), and a mini mart with lots of snacks (Krispy Kreme!). Sprinkled throughout the property, we saw several playgrounds, sports areas(bball, volleyball, mini golf, shuffleboard, etc), BBQ grills, activity centers, and hammocks.

Due to the time we spent at the theme parks, we didn’t have the opportunity to take advantage of many of the scheduled activities but there were plenty for all age groups. Here are just a few examples I pulled from the activities calendar for our week: kids/teens crafts (make-your-own seashell frames, bubblegum, tie dye T-shirt, flip flops, candy leis, puppets, etc), family activities (bingo, fishing derby, water balloon launching, Luau, photo scavenger hunt, etc), family food related events (ice cream social, chip and dip social, campfire songs & s’mores, etc), adult activities (wine glass decorating, Texas Hold-em, Iron Chef Competition, karaoke, etc), adult food activities (wine tasting, beer tasting, etc), fitness (belly dancing, Zumba, scuba lessons, aqua pilates, volleyball tournaments, etc). In addition to these weekly activities, the resort always has spa services, bikes, paddleboats, electric boats, miniature golf, and fishing for a reasonable rental fee.

Our unit (6323) was updated, extremely clean, and well-stocked. We loved having the washer/dryer, the Jacuzzi in the master bath, king sized bed in master bedroom, and the screened in porch overlooking the lagoon. As mentioned in other reviews, the pull-out couch in the second bedroom does make it a bit tight to move around in that room but we just considered it a bonus that the unit had the extra sleeping space as the 6 of us had more room to spread out. The kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans/toaster/microwave/blender/ plates/utensils etc. We found several grocery stores within a couple miles to stock up on breakfast items, snacks, and lots of beverages (WDW lets you bring anything into the parks – food or drinks – as long as it isn’t in a glass container or does not “need heating” – Universal only allowed us to bring in water) – saved us tons of money to bring chilled water, juice boxes, and soda each day (although we were pushing a family member in a wheelchair so would not have brought in the drinks in the soft-sided cooler if I had to carry them!)

The Cypress Harbour is ideally located between Universal and WDW. No matter what time of day we travelled, we never hit any traffic (each day we generally travelled to and from the various parks twice a day: around 7:45am, 1pm, 5-6pm, and 10pmish). On average, I’d say from the time we left the Cypress Harbour to the time we arrived at any WDW/Universal parking lot, travel time was about 15 minutes. Leaving the theme parks and returning to the Cypress Harbour each afternoon to swim, lounge around the pools, nap, and sit out on the porch was so rejuvenating – we considered this worth it since it didn’t take us long to travel back and forth. We didn’t visit SeaWorld but the CH backs up to this park so it would only take a couple minutes to get there. Every manner of chain restaurant and fast food was within a few minutes of the resort. Because of the location at the intersection of I-4, International Drive, Central Florida Pkwy, and 528, it was easy to get to and from the airport, buy supplies (CVS, groceries, souvenirs, etc), shop (couple of big outlet malls), and eat out. Although the resort is in the middle of just about anything you might need, it certainly does not have that feel. Once you enter through the gates of the Cypress Harbour, it feels like a secluded tropical oasis.

Finally, I want to make a couple of miscellaneous comments that didn’t seem to fit anywhere else. Although there is not daily housekeeping, I believe you can pay for the service if you’d like it. There is free wifi throughout the property but be sure to bring your own laptop because there is a charge to use the computers in the lobby. You can, however, print out your boarding passes for free when it’s time to go home. And this might be an odd comment but when I was doing some research to swap our timeshare in Orlando, I read a lot of reviews of some overly persistent sales tactics at various Orlando timeshare resorts. We did NOT find this to be the case at the Cypress Harbour! The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful but we were never approached about sitting for a timeshare presentation.

Everything about Marriott's Cypress Harbour exceeded our expectations and we look forward to returning the next time we visit Orlando.

Room Tip: We loved being in bldg 63 - near the Island Pool and an easy walk to all activities. The room was u...

We had a lovely week with my husband, mother, and aunt. My mother loved the room so much, she took photos. The villa is very spacious and had everything you could ask for. We even made smoothies every morning with the blender. I liked the screened patio very much. All nicely decorated too.
There is a small convenience store and a take out restaurant with a decent selection that is handy. They have entertainment by the pool. We didn't even take much advantage of the amenities because we were at theme parks every day, but it was nice to know it was there.
The location is handy to Disneyworld, the outlet mall, a drugstore, and a grocery store (try the surprisingly good fried chicken at Publix!)
The place feels very safe and secure, and the room was very clean. No complaints.

The 2 bedroom villa was beautifully decorated and had every amenity you could want. It was very large with 2 full sized bedrooms. One with a queen bed and also a double pull-out couch in it. The master had a king bed and a large round double sized jaccuzzi bathtub besides double sinks etc. There were 2 full bathrooms and lots of room in the dining and livingrooms. If you have children with you ( we did not) you will find that there are many "fun" and interesting programs for them to participate. All of the staff from the desk clerks to the garden staff and general workers were always very friendly and helpful if you needed it. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. A definite A+ for this place.

I am so impressed with Marriott's Cypress Harbour. I stayed here a few years ago and thought it was a nice place but needing some touching up here and there. Well, we came back three years later and they have made so many improvements! The unit we stayed in seemed brand new. All of the appliances, kitchen counters, bathroom counters, shower, furniture- it was all new! It was so nice and refreshing to stay somewhere where everything was new and cared for nicely. The grounds of Cypress Harbour are just beautiful and you really feel like you are on a great Florida vacation (I live in S. FL). I felt like I was at camp with my whole family. The amenities are great and so nicely kept. The activities center is brand spanking new. I am not sure when it was re-done but, I know it was pretty recent since it was NOT this nice three years ago. Kids and teens can play Wii for free all day (if they so choose) and toddlers and young children have a beautiful area filled with clean toys to play with and a puppet show area.
My only critique is that the pool areas could have a little more for the little ones to do. Since it is such a family friendly place, I feel that it should have more at the pools for younger ones. Harbour Lake (across the street) has a fantastic pirate ship, water slide, and splash area. Cypress Harbour does not have anything like this (other than a small splash area by a playground with mini golf and two kiddie pools). One of the kiddie pools has a spayer that can only entertain the little ones for a few minutes and then they have moved on and there isn't much for them to move on to kiddie wise at the pool. So, I hope they decide to renovate the pools one day and model after Harbour Lake (I stayed there two years ago).
Even so, with my critique of the pool, I would definitely stay here again with our little ones. There are plenty of other things for them to do!

Room Tip: Ask for a room by one of the two main pools or you will have to take the boat, walk, or drive! Also...
