My husband I and our two children just returned from a week in Orlando. The two of us and our 12 year old son wanted to do Disney, but the 19 year old son only wanted a little Disney and did not really want to stay at a Disney property. The Villas are about as close as you can get to Disney without being at Disney (10 to 20 minute easy drive, depending on which Disney park, Magic Kingdon the closest!) Still, once you pass through the front gate there is nothing Disney about the Villas--it is a luxurious resort community situated on rolling golf course(s). Although we don't really play golf, the setting was magnificent! We had just returned from a week in a drop-dead gorgeous place in the Bahamas and we were still impressed. We had a two-bedroom villa, which was a one-bedroom villa with full kitchen, living room with wide screen TV, bathroom with jacuzzi tub and separate shower and bedroom with sitting area and wide screen TV, and then another one-bedroom villa attached with same bathroon and bedroom. All rooms were huge and had french doors/windows with fairway/greens views. The Villas' pool was a short walk away and was very nice with a nice bar/snack stand. We ate dinner at the clubhouse sports bar one night and it was great! There is a great Winn-Dixie very close to stock up on groceries--it was nice to have breakfast in the rooms. Also, every, and I do mean EVERY, chain restaurant you have ever heard of can be found in Lake Buena Vista within a mile or two of the Villas. As a guest of the Villas, you can charge things at the nearby Hyatt, which is a huge complex. We went to their pool one afternoon; it has a rope bridge, water slide, swim up bar. The kids actually preferred the quieter pool at the Villas. Also, the Hyatt has paddle boats you can take on the lake. You can check out a bike at the Villas (easy to ride cruiser) and ride to the Hyatt or just around the Villas. My older son liked to do this, while rest of us were at Disney. He also liked the putting green, which is complementary. We were going to spend a night in Cocoa Beach when we went to the Kennedy Space Center, but cancelled that once we got to the Villas and saw how great they were (we just drove to Kennedy and back in a day--easy drive). Housekeeping was great and daily--they did our dishes every day! It was great to have a washer and dryer in the room after having already been on the road for over a week. The staff was helpful but nonobtrusive. Really, I can't say enough good things about this place. Wish we had had more time to spend there. I understand they have an excellent equestrian center in addition to a golf academy; sadly, we just didn't have time--maybe next time! Oh, I forgot to mention they have free wi-fi and parking.

Excellent. Massive rooms. Great atmosphere. Lovely accomodation and surroundings.
It beautiful and everything you need.
The kitchen was great when we needed it. We were able to do laundry and just spread out and relax as the rooms are so overwhelmingly huge.

The staff, although rarely seen are super friendly when you run into them.

We had a delay of 2 nights and the hotel only charged us for one at the lower rate of a different type of room. They also allowed us to move from a 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom and gave us a great deal.

Loads of facilities as you can use the Marriott's amenities as well. Just made it even better!

We went to play golf but in the end we ended up relaxing and enjoying the bikes and pool.
Can't say enough about it. Gettting married next year and thinking of taking the entire Bridal party the week beforehand just to relax and have some fun bonding on the green.

Don't umm and ahhh about it if this is a hotel on your list. Book with confidence and you will love every minute of it.

We felt truly relaxed during a 6 night stay in our villa. Our room rate of just over £100 per night including tax was good value. The staff were professional and friendly. Allowing us a slightly late check out at no charge was appreciated before a long trans-Atlantic flight.
The villa was spacious even by US standards and tastefully furnished in the Hyatt style. The bathroom had lots of natural light, a huge bath and a walk-in shower. We had a balcony with a lake view and were 2 minutes walk from the swimming pool. Our only complaint was that, in the heat of June, the pool was too warm to be refreshing!
We don't play golf but it didn't matter. We ate a big breakfast at the club house and didn't need to eat again until evening. The surroundings were blissfully tranquil and beautiful whilst being just a few minutes drive from the hurly burly of Orlando's theme parks.

... but I cannot stand to see negative reviews. I do corporate training and coaching, and let me tell you, this place has the best customer service I've seen, short of the Boca Raton Resort - or the Sofitel in Manhattan.... and, then again, maybe better. We went for tennis. What we discovered were the free bicycles that you could check out on arrival until your departure. Every day we woke up early and cycled over the to the Hyatt on wonderful paths that led through the gorgeous golf courses and nature preserves - past the equestrian center and the lagoon. The tennis courts were GREAT! And the tennis instruction with Lynne was AMAZING! I cannot even begin to tell you what she did for my fiancee's backhand.

Then we would cycle back and spend the afternoon by the wonderfully secluded swimming pool. We would later bike over to the golf club for dinner.... we usually sat at the bar - the bartenders were fabulous - delish Cosmos!!! There were tv's above each side of the circular bar and they were happy to put on whatever we wanted to watch (tennis channel).

It was great having the Hyatt right there for fancier dinners and breakfasts. Which reminds me..... while we were there a junior beauty pageant was taking place and the place was really humming... nevertheless, the manager at breakfast remember our names when we came back the second day..... from sight... he remembered our names... with hundreds and hundreds passing through that place.... and we weren't even staying in the Hyatt, but in the Villas.... I was shocked at that level of personal service.

We're heading back later this summer. Oh, we live in South Florida, so the trip is just a few hours drive and we have our car.

This is definitely NOT for Disney goers!

We stayed at the Villas April 15-22, 2009. It was a great experience in every way. We traveled to Orlando, my husband, myself, our 10 year old son and father in law. We stayed in a three bedroom suite which gave all of us our own bathrooms. We were on the go non-stop between theme parks and other attractions and didn't want to miss anything. It was great to come back to a washer and dryer, never had to worry about clothes that needed to be washed, room service was excellent on the nights we came back too late to eat at a restaurant, excellent key lime pie. Our room was on the lake and golf course, beautiful views, we could see the fireworks at closing at Disney World from our patio every night. Housekeeping was excellent. We would not stay anywhere else on a return trip to Orlando. So relaxing after dealing with the theme parks all day. The grounds of the hotel with the golf courses and everything else are gorgeous. It is very close to Walt Disney World and the other resorts without being smack dab of the middle of all of it.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of April. The level of service was fantastic from beginning to end. The facilities are extensive and included use of 2 swimming pools, bike rentals, boat hire & tennis- to name but a few activities besides the golf!

The villas are situated around the golf courses which make for fantastic scenery & in addition we were able to see the Disney fireworks from our balcony at night. The golf facilities were second to none & included extensive practice areas including 3 practice holes, pitch & putt and several putting greens, chipping areas, bunker practice & 2 driving ranges. There is also a golf academy on site.

We had a great time & would recommend this hotel even to non-golfers.
