I stayed 3 nights for a convention in mid June, 2007. The construction of the lobby means going around the whole of the 3rd floor to check in and out. The meeting facilities are very nice and comfortable.

The "Island" rooms are quite a distance from the main building and far too "round about." I had to go down an elevator to the first floor, through most of the building, outside, across a courtyard, then around the building past the parking lot where the shuttles are, across a covered bridge and to the farthest side of the Island building. My room overlooked the employee parking lot and I could see and hear International Blvd.
I could hear my neighbors' conversation through the connecting door.

There were no hangers in the closet when I got there, and I never had a coffee cup in the room, only water glasses. Housekeeping was spotty: very fast service when I called for hangers and asked for a "do not disturb sign," but they left a candy wrapper in plain view on the second bed one day.

I was not allowed to order "to go" from the Outback restaurant - room service, only. $85 for a single rib-eye steak, vegetables, salad, and a pitcher of tea. Good food, though.

The Sandwich shop is expensive, but fairly well stocked. $3 (20 ounce) sodas plus a very generous chicken salad cost $13. I was told that a gallon of coffee for the meetings cost $80.

I did appreciate the coffee pot, the refrigerator, the private balcony with 2 comfortable chairs, and the very comfortable bed and bathroom.

Very nice newly renovated lobby area. Rooms were renovated within the last year and had an amazing bathroom mirror with modern sink and a very clean tub and toilet. There was also an exceptionally nice flat screen HDTV, super comfortable beds and an outstanding view of the Disney area! The staff is one of the most accommodating I've ever encountered in the state of Florida also!

I stayed at BVP for 4 nights (6/10-14). My impression is that this is a hotel with a lot of potential though I'm skeptical if it will live up to it.

The Pluses:
- Room was a good size and nicely decorated. It had a balcony with a great view of the grounds and downtown Disney.
- Convenient location to downtown Disney and shutlle buses to other WDW attractions and hotels.

The Minuses:
- Bugs. My phone wasn't working. When I set down the handset on the nightstand a couple bugs (mites?) scampered out of it. When I complained the hotel staff were not apologetic though they did have the room sprayed and no more bugs were seen.
- Rennovations are in progress. The lobby and the public areas were in disarray and not as clean as I'd expect.
- Long line at checkin. Having to wait 20 mins in line to c/i isn't acceptable no matter how friendly the staff is.
- The sportsbar has poor food, slow service, and was dirty.

The rooms are awesome. Furnitures are new and clean as well as contemporary style. The belcony comes to great use if you love sipping wine when the sun goes down. Standing shower with beautiful setting. Plenty of room towels. Staff could've been quicker when I asked to move me to a higher floor. After waiting for an hour I gave up. Beside that, staffs were helpful. I would stay in this hotel agian if I have to.

this year was our fourth stay at the once named wyndham palace. it seems that the new owners have a good eye for quality and want the best out of the hotel. this year we took our parents for there first disney experience and needed a hotel that met not only our high standards but also would live up to the expectations we had given our family with prior stays. worried about the recent takeover, closure of arthers 27 bar, construction work on both rooms and lobby including lobby bar, we wondered what would meet us after such a long journey from manchester england. this was a holiday that ment so much we wanted nothing to go wrong.

upon our arrival we had already emailed the hotel with floor and room
requests (main tower floor 20 or above, one room over looking disney village, the other over all the parks). our request was met and then
some. the rooms are fresh with a contempary twist, meeting the convenstion meeting party standard with walk in shower, flat screen tv, huge bed with dark wood furnishing through the room, but, for vacation staying partys ie 2 or more. one wardrobe and 3 yes 3 draws???. bedside cabinates where replaced with a shelf making it very difficult to keep private items private. if the hotel wants more vacationers from europe and the uk they have not thought out well the amount of luggage they would bring and where it could be put.you want to unpack and relax, not live out of a suitcase for 16 nights.

knowing that florida is the land for conventions we did have a few roudy night guests at 3 or 4 oclock in the morning awaking us form our king bed slumber. not good when your up at 7 for breakfast and a meeting with shamu, but the situation was nothing a dose of british
'can you shut up some people are on vacation' cant resolve. worried also about the ongoing buliding work and closure of most of the hotels bars (our parents were not pleasure island party animals) we were left only with the sports bar and outback resturant. both surprisingly excellent(mike the head barman at the sports bar remembered us from previous holidays, a wonderfull guy who makes a mean vodka martini)hotel food generally good although slightly pricecy. breakfast $20. pool and area still ok. not to happy when areas are closed for convension meetings especially when you have paid for all the hotels facilities, but find a pool or jacusssi has been cordened off to meet there requirements.

enjoyalble stay but still a few tweeks need to be looked at to make the hotel what it once was. or hopefully better.

good luck buena vista palace see you soon.

Nice hotel, but definately geared toward business travelers. We had a good rate, but didn't know that it was probably due to the lobby refurbishment - not a big problem though. We checked in about an hour early and were given the choice of waiting until the official check in time for the king bed that we requested, or taking 2 queens. We opted to wait and did some shopping. We came back and received our keys. However, we were unable to get into the room. I called the front desk and the bell hop and security arrived at the same time. It seems that the battery in the lock was low. We were let into the room - with two queen beds (?) and it was a smoking room (we were guaranteed a non-smoking room. The bellhop was very helpful and nice and made a phone call. He said he could have us moved to a non smoking room but it would have two queen beds. We said that was fine - we just wanted to check in! He took back to the lobby where he got the new keys and then to the 26th floor overlooking downtown disney (spectacular view at night!) and it was a king room! The front desk was definately a bit off.
Everything else was good, we used the valet parking because the self parking seemed to be a bit of a walk. The only only other issue we had was that one day, we received no bottled water, only one wash cloth and no bath mat. When you are paying a $12 resort fee that is to include certain amenities, these oversights should not happen. Also - be aware that if you need to use the business center to print your boarding passes, that it will cost you to use the computer and printer. We have stayed at other deluxe hotels were this service was provided at no cost.
This hotel would be nice for business travelers, but I don't think we will stay here again as part of a Disney vacation. After adding on the resort fee and the valet parking, it wasn't much of a bargain and you don't get the benefits of staying onsite.

We just returned from Lake Buena Vista Palace and the stay was great. The staff was extremely helpful and provided great service. There is some construction being done but we felt the staff did a fine job dealing with this inconvenience and worked hard to make your stay very comfortable.
The rooms are wonderful and the beds are the best hotel beds I have ever slept on. The facility is clean and the service is wonderful. Great service with bus rides to the Disney parks and Downtown Disney is just a 5 minute walk across the street from the hotel.
The guest market in the hotel is very expensive. There is a $12.00 per day fee for two bottles of water, pool towels, phone use and bus service. However, if you are using the bus service to the parks it is well worth the money for the service of the buses running every 30 minutes to the Disney parks. The bus service starts one hour before the parks open and runs all day until two hours after the parks close.

Great Hotel!!
