“Disneyworld visit”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

We stayed at the holiday Inn Buena Vista for 5 nights to visit the Disney Parks. The hotel was very clean, had good amenities and helpful staff. The hotel is walking distance to downtown disney and has an excellent free shuttle to the four main parks which ran every half an hour. We used the on site Restaurant a number of times and had excellent service from "Said" who was one of the waiters.
A couple of points to note:
1. The hotel backs onto a freeway, so the rooms facing the freeway are quite noisy. I would not book one of these rooms again.
2. The guest services desk will try to offer you discount tickets to Disney parks if you sit in on a 90 minute presentation. I'm not sure why the Holiday Inn chain would promote this direct selling.
Overall a nice motel in great location for visiting the Disney Parks.

Room Tip: Dont book rooms facing the freeway, although they are cheaper
See more room tips
Green Features: The promote reuse of towels but noisey provide enough hanging rails to keep them dry.

We decided to book at this hotel based on the great reviews on Trip Advisor, as well as its proximity to Disney and more importantly Downtown Disney, the low price, buses to the parks, etc. Upon check in, the system was down and the front desk girl was struggling; it took us over 30 minutes from our time of arrival to get through the check in process, at which point we were then told we were in a room with 2 double beds (instead of 1 king). As it was quite late, we decided to leave it and deal with it in the morning. The beds were quite comfy, and room was relatively clean, but as other travelers have stated, the hotel does show signs of wear. In the morning, we were told there were no king beds available to transfer to. As we wanted to get to the Disney parks early, we left it with the front desk staff to rectify. I have to say, Jennifer at the front desk is absolutely amazing. Upon our return, she gave us 2 rooms to look at, and we ended up in a room with a king size bed on the main floor with our own little balcony overlooking the pool area; it was fantastic.
Housekeeping at the hotel is hit and miss. Our garbage was overflowing one day, and upon returning to the room they had not touched it. Our phone was also broken in the room, and upon several reports to the front desk, nothing was ever done about it (we were there for 10 days).
The breakfast buffet is $18.99/person; for that price, you might as well just hop on one of the Disney buses and eat in the park. We did order room service one night, and found it to be nothing spectacular (there are much better restaurants in Epcot or Downtown Disney).
Another note... the concierge was completely useless when it came to knowledge of the area or booking shuttles. We had seen Mears shuttles driving around and had asked if we could book one to take us to Universal Studios; we were told we could not from that specific property. However, upon going to the Front Desk and speaking with Jennifer (again, amazing), she informed us that indeed we can use the Mears shuttle and even let us use the phone to book it. I would absolutely advise depending on the size of your party using Mears, as it is only $20/person.

Overall, our stay was just okay. I would definately look at staying at a Disney property next time, to get a true Disney experience. I would not consider returning to this property, and would not recommend it to my friends or other travelers. There are many other nicer properties we came across that I would be more inclined to try.

Really enjoyed our stay at holiday inn. Used free buses to wdw which worked well. Easy drive to universal and seaworld. Day trip to Busch gardens was an easy drive too. All in all a great base while in orlando. Would stay again for sure.

We just got back from 8 days at this hotel. None of us, myself and my husband included, had ever been to Disney. After much consideration, we decided on the Holiday Inn due to it's proximity to the parks, the low price, free breakfast, free shuttle and great reviews on Trip Advisor. We couldn't have been more pleased and everything and everyone lived up to, or surpassed, our expectations. The rooms are clean and pretty spacious. The staff is great, from the valets to the servers in the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and just what we needed to start off our long days at the parks. The hotel was a quick (seriously, less than 10 min) and pleasant walk to Downtown Disney where we spent many evenings. The shuttles were convenient. Our kids, 8 & 10, loved the pool and of course the Disney Store. We also rented a car from a neighboring hotel and spent some time away from Disney including Universal. We can't wait to go back!! Thank you for the best vacation ever (quote from the kids).

This trip we wanted to stay off-site. Nothing too fancy since we are there to spend our time at Disney. Staying off-site we find non-Disney restaurants that we enjoy.

This hotel was very clean. Basic room, with small bathroom. Breakfast was available to-go and was very inexpensive. Wifi did not work well.

Make sure to park in the correct spots. We were given misinformation at our late check-in and might have been towed but fortunately no problems.

Overall a very good stay.

I phoned at 9 am asking for early checking and one of 2 rooms was available for us, which worked out very well for us. Staff was friendly. Location is good (15min walk to Downtown Disney), Rooms have microwave and minifridge, AC is quiet, rooms are fairly spacious. Pool was nice--heated I believe, so even though it was 72 outside we got to swim. Their restaurant had few issues with service, which was an inconvenience one night and no one in charge bothered to offer a compted meal, even though almost everyone eating there complained. We were seated at 7:15 and were served at 9:20. By the time we realized how long the wait was going to be, it was too late to go elsewhere with 2 kids. ---but again that was one night and if they met people half way--I don't believe this would count against them. Parking was $12/night, BUT free shuttle bus to Disney. Though, this bus stops at 3 other hotels, so don't plan on a comfy 35 min ride as you may be standing with kids and strollers. They don't have good coffee--ok, yes, it may be silly, but this day and age, with DD and SB around every corner, I had to go over to the neighboring Hilton's coffee shot to pick up a good cup of joe in am.
I do think that this hotel was nice, but I think a bit overpriced based on our experience last week.

Room Tip: We liked the 5th floor, though noise from the pool was still a little issue during kids' nap tim...
