Average room, paying for convenience of being on monorail which was a debacle. Food options limited unless you’re going to Ohana for dinner. Reservations required for small seating restaurant on 2nd level. One poor soul dispensing Dole whips for the entire resort. Captain Cooks was average to unacceptable for food. Stayed on the club level, that really was not worth the premium. Overall considering we took an Uber to most resorts because of overcrowding in monorail and buses and their general unreliability, we will likely stay off site the next trip here. In summary room quality, food quality and reliability of onsite transportation do not justify the price. Our last day here and I’m counting down the last 24 hours.

When you stay at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you become a part of our ‘ohana and when you’re like family, you should definitely be treated as such. I certainly appreciate you providing this feedback regarding your recent visit. It's very disheartening to learn that you were so dissatisfied with the both the transportation and dining experience at this Resort, as those are typically features which make the Polynesian special. Please know your comments are greatly appreciated and I have shared them with the appropriate Leadership teams. It is through our Guests' feedback that we are best able to understand areas of opportunity and improve upon them.

Thank you again for sharing this honest feedback with us. I truly hope this experience doesn’t keep you from returning to one of our Resorts in the future, as we have many different locations that might be a better fit for you and your family.

We have stayed at several different deluxe (and moderate) resorts at Disney, and this is our absolute favorite so far. The atmosphere is so relaxed that you can’t help but feel chill while you are there. We stayed in the DVC villas in a deluxe studio. Having the extra bathroom was wonderful, and the room was well laid out. Our son enjoyed the pool area, and we loved watching Happily Ever After from the beach—what a great experience!

I can’t say enough about staying on the monorail line. The level of convenience getting to and from Magic Kingdom and Epcot was unparalleled. And Dole Whips at the resort? Yes, please!

We will definitely be coming back here many times!

Mahalo to you for submitting this fantastic review of your visit to the Polynesian Resort! The Polynesian is my favorite Walt Disney World Resort, so it brings me so much joy to hear you loved it, too. The amenities in the DVC villas, particularly in the deluxe studios, are unparalleled – most especially that extra bathroom! The easy transportation via monorail to both Magic Kingdom and Epcot is typically a huge selling point for most Guests, but I'm happy to know you also enjoyed some of the other things that make the Polynesian special, like watching Happily Ever After from the beach.

We can't wait to welcome you back home for another magical visit, and a Dole Whip!

I was so excited to see how you have celebrated the South Pacific with us. This Resort has been a Disney fan favorite since 1971 and it’s awesome to know that you are one of those fans! We sure do offer luxury and convenience through our exotic fare and easy access by way of the monorail. Thank you for your continued visits with us and we look forward to your next one!

My family returned from our Orlando visit on Sunday. We stayed at the Polynesian for the Disney portion of our trip. Our building (Samoa) was located between the two pools, which our kids loved. Our room needed a good update, but it was clean and comfortable. The shower fixtures were not great. Having a fixture with a handheld nozzle would be better for children.

On resort we found the pools to be suitable for kids, not particularly so for adults. This is not the place to stay if you enjoy doing laps or swimming beyond splashing about with the kids. My kids loved it all, though, particularly the volcano slide and the water park. The hot tub was a nice temp, lizards stopping by to watch us soak.

There is a convenience mart and a few restaurants on resort. We were fond of Kona’s breakfast (Tonga Toast) which included a voucher to meet Pluto.

The resort is a short monorail ride away from the parks and a short walk to/from the transit center. Staff were friendly and generally helpful.

Tip: watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the pool instead of fighting your way through crowds at the park. It was special for our family and we were able to swim and take in the show at the same time.

From the looks of it, many highlights from your recent visit to the Polynesian Village Resort were a perfect fit for your family. We’re so glad you chose to share a bit of your experience, letting others know about this stay.

We are always looking for input from our Guests to help us improve our amenities and offerings. I appreciate your note about the shower fixtures; feedback like this is very important to our Resort Leadership, especially when considering future enhancements. I’m also pleased that, despite not having a lap pool, your family still enjoyed our aquatic offerings. I know the Lava Pool slide tends to be a major hit with the kids. I hope you enjoyed meeting Pluto as a surprise after you meal at Kona Café – and you’re right, the Tonga Toast is fantastic!

My favorite part here has to be your great perspective on where to get the best fireworks viewing. So many Guests like to grab a spot along the beach to watch the show, but I think you’ve let everyone in on a hidden gem because the pool is where it’s at! That’s such an extra special memory for your family to share; I truly hope you’ll come back to make it again and again with us for years to come.
