Dear Keith G.,
We apologize for the inconvenience our renovation construction caused you and appreciate your feedback and suggestions. We're doing our very best to minimize disruptions to our guests, unfortunately as the renovations reached the elevators, for two days we had only one elevator in service. Good news is that majority of the remodel is finished and all we have ahead of us is the small updates that do not cause such disruption to the hotel operations. We hope you'll come back once this transformation is complete, we'd love to hear what you think.

Would stay again but not with handicapped elderly person with no one available to help. My mistake was travelling alone with my 94 year old Mother in a wheelchair being told in advance that hotel staff would assist me with getting her in and out of the car and in and out of hotel.
The staff was very friendly, the room was clean The continental breakfast was very good. There was also a coffee/tea bar with fresh cookies... a very nice treat throughout the day. The room was clean and quiet.
For a good price you get a hotel that is minutes drive away from Universal Orlando, complimentary breakfast with hot options, complimentary bus to Universal Orlando, top notch service, a business centre and a nice touch of cookies in the lobby at night. The hotel is off the main road so no street noise issues.
Like earlier reviews have mentioned the hotel is going through some substantial renovations in their lobby area at the moment (as at 30 October 2013) so if this is going to upset you then perhaps don't book a room here for the remainder of 2013. From the room you cannot hear the noise but it's fair to say it is quite disruptive when you go to the lobby to check in, have breakfast, use the business centre etc.
With the construction, breakfast seating was very inconvenient even though another room was setup. No King beds available. Queens would have been alright if ... they were standard queen mattress size. (I haven't grown or gotten bigger in the past 20 years but that queen mattress sure did seem to get smaller.) Seems to me that there were way too many rooms in all HIs that have been re-modeled and king-size mattresses have been replaced with mini-Queens. A/C was too loud. Reservations for 2 days but we checked out after 1 day. Cost for room was comparable to new room at new location with better amenities. Why? With construction and small beds and inconvenience at breakfast, the cost of this room should have been a lot less.
We're sorry to hear that our renovation construction was an inconvenience during your stay. As we progress with the job, most of your concerns have already been eliminated. Your detailed review and suggestions come at a great time and as we continue to make changes to our property, we'll be sure to incorporate them. We hope you will come back once our changes are complete and let us know what you think.

I first called the Double Tree Hotel for reservations, but was told that it was full. Therefore, the Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Hotel were recommended. I am sorry that I chose the Hampton Inn as it was going through renovations. I was NOT told of this renovation when I called. This was wrong! This Hampton Inn was going through renovations in the lobby where breakfast was served. The lobby was dirty and dusty. In addition, my bathroom had roaches. Not cool!
Dear Diana G.,
thank you for your feedback. I am truly sorry that you did not have a pleasant stay here with us at Hampton Inn closest to Universal. I understand that our hotel was not your fist choice for accommodations and the fact that we were recommended to you played a big role in choosing our property for your stay.
I can only speculate on why it was not disclosed to you at the time of booking that lobby remodel will be in progress at the time of your stay with us and I can understand the unpleasant surprise you had faced upon arrival. We try our best to minimize the disruption and inconveniences and apologize for any discomfort but not all construction impact can be avoided completely.
Past couple of weeks have been very challenging not only for our guests but our great staff as well. It is very exciting to see the progress that was made during this major transformation we are undergoing. We truly hope that we can provide the most welcoming and serene space for your next stay.
