We recently stayed here for 11 nights whilst in Orlando.
The location is excellent, just a few minutes drive from Disney, Sea World, Wet & Wild, etc.
The I-Drive trolley bus stops right outside if you don't want to drive. The hotel offers a daily shuttle service to Disney and Universal too.
We had a suite on the 4th floor. The room itself was clean, beds comfy and had air con. The walls were recently painted but the furniture and carpets appeared very dated (1980s).
The 4th floor corridor and lift stank...they smelt musty and at times it was overpowering. This didn't affect our room though. We think it was caused by the old, dirty corridor carpet, etc.
The corridors have old decor and it appears quite depressing (think of the movies with run down motels!!)...thankfully once inside the room the impression was better.
The suites have 2 televisions and a small kitchenette area with coffee maker, fridge, sink, double hob and a microwave.
Reception staff were mixed. Some were better than others (the young lady was helpful).
Breakfast is ok, pancakes, cheap juice, coffee, sausage, scrambled eggs, bread and cereals and fruit...budget stuff, but you can't grumble considering it's complimentary and it fills a gap!
The price is ok for what we had...we paid extra as we booked through Thomas Cook, so we would save if we booked direct, etc.
It has a small pool which was clean and pleasant. There is an ATM in site which charges over US $3.30 per withdrawal. There is a small shop by reception (open 24/7) which sells snacks and drinks.
Local pizza parlours, Chinese, etc all deliver to your room up to 3am...you'll get menus in your room, shoved under your door daily or in the reception corridor area...Joes Pizza is very good and their BBQ wings are amazing...2 large pizzas, 20 wings and 2 x cans of drink for US $29 + tax. Pretty much all prices quoted in Florida are plus state sales tax...so bear that in mind if on a budget.
If you've for young kids with you then buy the Florida Kids Eat Free Card (from Attraction Tickets Direct...in the UK before you go...£10 each and you can save a fortune)!
Would we go back to this hotel? Not at the price we paid, but would think about it if we saved some money...but we would look at other local options first.
I'd give the room a 3 star rating, but the corridors a 2 star/
