“Good location and base....not the best though!!”
Reviewed 10 July 2010

As it was our 1st time in Florida (and wont be the last) after reading the reviews I was a little worried, I am not a fussy person, all i look for is good clean comfortable accommidation, this hotel offered both. I would possibly go as far as saying we think it is in one of the best locations on I-drive. The only down side I see to this hotel is that it can be very noisey if you get a room looking on to the car parks, the windows do not seem to offer any sound proof at all. The beds are done up ever day by the helpful room staff, however on one occasion we came back to find our room door had been left open all day, fortunate for us nothing was taken, pheww. The room does have a coffee maker, no kettle though and Iron and Iron board are also in the room. Would I go back to this hotel ?.........possibly not, only due the fact of the noise and i felt the room was on the small side and a little cramped for my family, husband and 2 daughters aged 12 and 4. I dont know how people manage to get about Orlando without the car......when it rains in Florida it rains big, the buses will not return to get you other than the allocated time which can be @ 9pm, we went to Aquatica one day and down the rain came at 4pm, some people I heard say their bus is not picking them up till 8pm. A family i spoke to on the same day went to Magic Kingdom and had to pay $45 to get back to the hotel. The parks do charge for parking the car, all disney parks charge $14 but you can visit any other disney parks on the same day with that parking ticket, if u go to see the fireworks at Magic Kingdom they do not charge after 9pm, all universal parks are $12 parking. Please if u are like us and do hire the care, DO NOT hire the sat nav from them...they tried to charge us $190 dollars we refused ( they do give you a good map to get to yer destination, so dont worry) and they then tried to sell us a pass for all the tolls for $40, we never used any tolls except going back to the airport which was only $4.75 in total, we also bought the Sat Nav from a local Wal mart for $90, plugged it in and was good to go, and the best thing is it belongs to us and we will use again when we go back to Florida.

We would recomend this hotel, its was a great base for the disney trip of a lifetime. You go to Orlando to see the sights and ofcoarse Disney so the hotel is just someware to crash after the very exhausting days. Fir us it had eberything you could ask for. The rooms were very clean and had all you could ask for. Freash towels everyday, Sheets changed every other day, Two great pools and a very quiet atmosphere.
We atayed in June 2010 for two weeks so the heat was very over powering but the rooms had a very adiquate air conditionig, a little noisey but worked well.

So all in all a very nice play to stay. Dont be put off by the bad reviews if your on a budget like us all this is the place to stay.

nineth trip to florida and last 3 times have stayed in a villa due to travelling with extended family and 2 young children.
this time stayed at the quality inn and was superb value for money. the 2 kids enjoyed the buffet breakfast and there was plenty of space/sunloungers round the pools which were a god send.
The rooms were basic but very clean and tidy the microwave and fridge were ideal however i thought that it would be beneficial to have a small table and chairs.
The on site facilities were very good with bar and gift shop with convenience store.
excellent location with seven eleven across the road, dennys, perkins, popeyes and burger king not to mention mcdonalds and numerous gift shops and the crazy golfs.
The I trolley was excellent value to get along international drive with seaworld and shopping at one end and the prime outlet at the other( for the shopoholics in us)
have just booked to stay again at the quality inn international for next year :)

Will not reccomend this hotel. It is in a good location but in Orlando you can find great hotels that are a littel off the beaten path it seems. Hard to find a middle priced hotel that is not dirty and poor value for money. If you have a car try something a little out of town - we tried several hotels in town and they were aweful unlless they were in the $200 range.

we were a bit anxious regarding some of the poorer reviews, however we were a
on a tighter budget this time and couldn't resist 11 nights for £580 with thomsons. We were aware the rooms had been upgraded and we weren't dissappointed. Two double beds . very comfy with mattress toppers. microwave . fridge . coffeemaker. Hairdryer iron and a laptop safe (free )which held even my handbag. The air conditioning was a bit noisy but worked well. The room was cleaned every day. fresh towls left if you put the used ones on the floor, fresh toiletries left every day.
Externally the place reminded me of a 70.s butlins camp. Facilities at reception are adequate. We took up an offer for 7 breakfasts for the cost of 5 for £22 . this was an excellent start to the day as it was unlimited buffet style . I called it the "pleasantville breakfast " for any one who'se seen the film. Costs in disney and universal sre exhorbitant unless you purchase an allday eating ticket there for between 20 and 30 dollars each. There are plenty of cheap buffet eateries in the area.
There are two small pools which don't really get crowded as everyone's at the parks.
We chose the free car hire from thomsons though beware you still need to pay for fully comp insurance and collision damge waiver which we paid from this end and cost about £230 .
Beware that there are 2 quality inns on international drive ( one is the Plaza). we drove in the other one by mistake in the dark and couldn't find our block or room; the places are identical in looks and layout. we thought we'd entered the twighlight zone. till we realised the gift shop was slightly different!!
There's so much to do and see around orlando but it can be exhausting . We went in june and the heat put us out. Take an odd day off the parks to recharge yourself. We saw dolphins at Daytona about one and a half hours away.
Driving is not for the timid as there are 6 or even 8 lanes . However free shuttles are available at most hotels to the parks apart from disney.
I wouldn't recommend "wonderworks on I-drive . it cost us $50 to get in and took us about 2omins to do everything. Nothing uis cheap apart from petrol. Though we enjoyed looking round Wallmart and the dollar shops which are away from the main tourist areas.
All in all we'd stop there again and its good value for money.
