I have stayed at this resort many times before. The grounds are well kept. The kid's activities and all the amenities are excellent. The grills are a great convenience. The villas are always clean and you cannot beat the ocean views if you are lucky enough to land a villa ocean front or ocean view. The main reason I did not give them 5 stars is that on every yearly visit I notice that there is No supervision in the pool area. I understand that the staff might not want to come across as patrolling the area and being overly demanding, however in order to avoid conflicts between guests and possible injury it might be best to be proactive while tactful in enforcing rules. The reservation of pool chairs by a lot of the guests is not encouraged but allowed, I witnessed a family reserving several chairs, they went to have lunch next to the bar area, they came back to the pool, then left for the beach all the while still reserving about 4 chairs. They did this for days, I noticed because they liked and picked the exact same area. While this practice is annoying, what concerns me the most is the ball tossing in the pool. Footballs, soccer balls etc. were being tossed in the main pool, employees passed by and said nothing. That particular day 2 children were hit. My grandchildren were in the pool as well as other little ones. We left to the Cobia pool, upon arrival to that pool we stayed near the stairs as 2 individuals were tossing a small ball the entire length of the pool. All other guests were near the edge since you could not be in the middle of the pool due to the ball tossing. Ball tossing in the pool occurred every day. I fear that one day there will be a huge disagreement over someone’s child being hurt.
The second reason I did not give them 5 stars on this trip is because I noticed a few of the employees do need a little bit of additional training. I encountered a few employees who needed more knowledge of the resort in general, twice the cleaning staff with carts waiting for the elevator went on in ahead of the guests, etc. Not major things, but little things do count.

The Marriott Ocean Pointe resort is a very typical Marriott east coast resort, very much like the ones on Hilton Head, SC for example.

The rooms look nice, everybody has a (sideways) ocean view (if you're above the trees), and all the usual amenities are present. Tike bar and restaurant, resort convenience score, massage room, grills, plenty of facilities for kids to play and loads of activities. From aquarobics to thinly veiled AA meetings.

The resort is actually not in/on Palm Beach, but in Palm Beach *Shores*, which is on the southern tip of Singer Island, just north of Palm Beach itself. It is easily accessible from I-95 and Palm Beach via US-1 and the Blue Heron Parkway. Palm Beach Shores is a really tiny, quiet community which means that it's quiet and there is not much partying. It also means that there are only 3 or 4 restaurants within walking distance.

The resort consists of five buildings that are placed on two lots, separated by a condo that clearly has not sold out to Marriott yet. This makes that the resort has basically three zones. The northern end, which is the most kid friendly and has the kiddie pool. The central area, with a more adult oriented pool. And the separate building on the southern end, which is very quiet, and has a gorgeous view of the inlet from the ocean to the Intracoastal and Palm Beach harbor. Pay attention when they ask you if you have a preference for a building and choose which area fits you best.

One major disadvantage of this resort is that it's really separated from the beach. I guess that in Florida beaches are really public in the sense that property owners can not do anything on the beach in front of their property. Which leads to the ridiculous situation that there is a third party vendor on the beach renting beach chairs for $40/day. I like public beaches, but prefer the approach on many Caribbean islands where property owners can furnish their guest with umbrellas and chairs. Get on that Marriott! On the other hand, they put out signs protecting the turtle nests and that is very good. More places should do that as well,

The pools are great and there are some cabanas for shade, should you like that. Just of the coast is a cool reef called 'The Bluffs' where we saw a huge loggerhead turtle and awesome fish while SCUBA diving.

Room Tip: Study the map of the resort. There is a clear kiddie area, a more adult area and the separated building is very quiet. Choose what fits you best. Everybody has an ocean view, provides that you are high enough. The most southern building looks over the inlet from the ocean.

Wonderful resort with 4 different buildings, on the beach, several pools and spas, fitness centers, free wifi, fitness classes and lots of activities. Great place for families, even though it was just my husband and I. Food in their tiki bar is excellent and prices are not ridiculous. Can ride or bike around neighborhood, great security, and interesting parks, shopping and attractions nearby. You will need a car to get to the shopping, parks and attractions. Nearby restaurants are high priced.

Room Tip: If you want away from the activity stay in the Kingfish Building. Guest room (also called studio) does not have a stove, however has mini microwave, mini fridge, toaster, and coffee pot. Also has plates and flatware. You can grill on premises.

We had a great week staying at the Ocean Point in Palm Beach Shores. Rooms were large (we had a 2 room suite). Master has a king bed. Second room has a king plus a large sleeper sofa. There is an additional sleeper sofa in the living room. You could feasibly accommodate 8 people in one of the 2 bedroom units. Kitchen was well equipped. Pools were all very nice. Beach was great. The area was really nice. Palm Beach Shores is a quiet residential area with nice homes, a nice walking path, and marina with restaurant. Further north you have many high rise beach front hotels and condos. And the state park 4 miles north. I ran up the beach to the state park and back on the A1A. I felt it was a very nice and safe area (not sure why some people said it was in a bad part of town). Juno is 6 miles north with many good restaurants. West Palm Beach is south. Kids activities daily at the hotel were fun for our 12 year old (gave him a chance to meet kids his age). The vacation club does not do any room cleaning during the week. They do have in room laundry for your use. For good restaurants try Carmines La Trattoria (Itailian and Pizza) in Juno or Carmines Ocean Grill for Sushi. We also liked Cool'A Fish Bar in Palm Beach Gardens.

Room Tip: Kingfish building will be undergoing a renovation at the end of the summer, so if you are staying next year try to get in this building (though it is further away and separated from the main hotel...which may be good if you want a quieter place, but the pool there is much smaller). Otherwise a higher room will have better views. We were on the 5th floor which was pretty good!

I am a marriott owner in Orlando. We used our points for five days in a two bedroom villa in mid June. We arrived at about 12:30 PM and we were in our villa on the fifth floor of Pompano by 200 PM. Lunch at the Tiki Club was better than adequate and at prices which were reasonable for a resort.

Everyone at Ocean Pointe was very nice and helpful. This is a very well run resort with first rate management and staff. Rich, the concierge, was particularly helpful, and steered us right on more than one occasion. Our Villa was spacious and very comfortable, and we enjoyed the fitness center each morning. The resort has two large pools, which starts the day brisk, and then are warmed by the pool. The resort has shuffle board, mini golf, outdoor grills which are well-maintained, and nice walking paths. This is a great place! We will be back.

Room Tip: Pompano is a great building as others have said. The additional destination points for ocean front would be well worth it, particularly in the summer.
