“Great Gulf view, Pier, shallow area for small ones, clean”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

We visited on a Friday afternoon from 6:15-7:30. The park was very clean. We saw a gator (a ranger was with him) on the way in and several birds in the bird area. There was even a deer grazing on the side of the road. Down by the jetty we saw a raccoon. In the jetty area, the water was very shallow and perfect for little children. It was only about 6 inches deep over toward the ocean. There are restrooms, a store, a picnic shelter, and showers to hose off. Driving over to the pier was one of my highlights. It was not very crowded at all and cleaner than the city pier. We saw a couple sting rays. It was close to sunset and the view was beautiful. It was a nice view back at the city. Worth the $8/car (I think it is only $4 for one person?) to enter. Highly recommend!!

“REDNECK CAMP GROUND”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

Dirtiest, most unkempt grounds we have ever visited. No rules, a/c out in 3 of 4 restrooms/showers. Sites never raked or picked up, 5-6 cars at each site, loud radios all day and most of the night. NEEDS ATTENTION. Will never stay here again.

“One of the Best beaches we have ever been to.”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

Come early to get a decent location however its a very nice beach with nice shallow beach for a long distance and you can really enjoy your time in the water. bring your beach umbrella as the sun can be VERY hot and get easily sun burned.

“Had a great time!!”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Wow! We had a great time at the park. We took great pictures. There was so much wildlife to see. We saw deer, alligators, turtles, rabbits and all kinds of birds. Took a quiet nature walk and went out on the pier. Super family fun!!!!

“Easy Beach Access”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Family of 5, only paid $8 to get in. Typical for a State Park as this helps with maintenance. Very friendly staff. Easy to find way around. Good parking and beach access. White Sand. They even have a shower off area for when you are done at the beach, you can clean up before getting back into you vehicle. If we are ever in the area, we will return. Wish we had more time here!!!
