We visited on a Friday afternoon from 6:15-7:30. The park was very clean. We saw a gator (a ranger was with him) on the way in and several birds in the bird area. There was even a deer grazing on the side of the road. Down by the jetty we saw a raccoon. In the jetty area, the water was very shallow and perfect for little children. It was only about 6 inches deep over toward the ocean. There are restrooms, a store, a picnic shelter, and showers to hose off. Driving over to the pier was one of my highlights. It was not very crowded at all and cleaner than the city pier. We saw a couple sting rays. It was close to sunset and the view was beautiful. It was a nice view back at the city. Worth the $8/car (I think it is only $4 for one person?) to enter. Highly recommend!!
