What a surprise to walk into this restaurant and see a total transformation from what used to be a rather mediocre Italian restaurant. The decor is sleek, modern, and inviting, and just the right size for a night out with friends. The staff was friendly, and the owner made it a point to introduce himself to diners. The waiter took his time explaining the menu, and featured the "fresh Tarpon dock catch of the day" which was Black Grouper that could be grilled or blackened with two sides. We both chose the same dish, however, my husband had the lobster bisque as his appetizer, and it, along with the house salad of mixed greens was fantastic. The portions were quite large, and some of the freshest, flakiest, fish I've eaten, and I live on the Gulf Coast. We've been back three times, and last night, while my husband ordered the grouper again, I opted for a new dish, the "Florida Cobb Salad", which was like nothing I've ever eaten. It was served as a stack of layers, of lettuce, avocado, mango, bacon, friend green tomatoes, and five jumbo shrimp in an aiolli sauce, topped with a key lime vinagerette. We even finished with dessert, bananas foster, which wasn't soggy, but rather the perfect combination of bananas, panacotta, and ice cream with a light caramel sauce. Perfect meal, and the bill for two of us was $58.00, and certainly what I considered a very good price. If you want a chain restaurant, with predictability and imported seafood, then stick with Reb Lobster, but if you want fresh fish, and individually prepared dishes, then give this restaurant a try.
