What a wonderful night we spent at the New World Inn!! Our room was beautifully furnished and soooooo quiet!! Had a really personal feel! Had dinner at the restaurant and what a wonderful meal!! Was delicious and beautifully presented!! The chef, Nick Farkas, does a fantastic job with the food! Located really close to the restored downtown area, and a short drive to Penscola Beach! Would recommend this place for a restful stay, good food, and located close to everything!!

My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at New World Inn. Our room, complete with period furnishings, was full of character and charm. This Inn is more like a Bed and Breakfast than a hotel. They do offer a continental breakfast with your stay but we chose to have the Sunday Brunch that is offered to Inn guest at a discount. Our waiter "Charles" was wonderful and the food was delicious. New World does not have a pool and no extensive grounds to speak of. They do have a great covered patio and downtown Pensacola is right outside your door. Waterfront to the south and downtown restaurants, bars and shops to the north. I'm not a fan of chain hotels, I prefer a place that includes ambiance and character in the price. For me, those are things that create a memorable stay away from home. My husband I will definitely stay again, we absolutely loved it!

This hotel surprised us. We booked it as being closest to our destination as well as being close to the Gulf (also the location seemed safe). While there is no beach, it is proximate to the government and business areas, the Marina and the newly reviving downtown with it's restaurants and nitelife. It's not very attractive from the outside but is warm and friendly inside with lots of wood and carpeting in the lobby. Our room was equally surprising, a bit run down but comfortable. Choose the second floor room, if you stay. Maybe it was the timing of our visit (mid-week, high summer, oil spill) but it seemed like this inn was a good hotel in search of greatness.

In our economy where our hard earned dollars are harder to come by it is a true shame when a place like this will rip off the people who stay there. Please hear this all of you considering staying here DON'T do it, both Tony and Nancy GM's are not helpful in resolving your issues.

There are almost no places to stay downtown, and this one is by far the nicest. They even have a nice piano/wine bar. The other reviewer who said the rooms are small is nuts! They are average-sized to large! The decor is not my taste, but it is nice. The bathrooms are just average- not new or big like the hotel chains. They let me go in a few of the rooms. I love the ones with the 4 poster beds!

We had reservations at a different hotel and it wasn't up to our expectations. We found the New World Inn online and made a phone call. The front desk was a huge help, we got a great rate and he even helped us with directions! We could never have enjoyed staying anywhere else as much as we enjoyed it here! We stayed in the Andrew and Rachel Jackson suite, the only suite and it was great. We enjoyed Gallery night, The Fish House, the beach (a short drive away) and McGuire's. We were able to walk to many of our destinations! This was a girls trip, but I will return soon and bring along the family!

My husband and I booked a room here along with family for a relatives wedding. Upon arriving around 3 we notified the desk clerk that the room was well over 85 degrees. They promised to check it while we left for the rehearsal dinner. we did not return until after 10pm and the room was still horribly hot. we were forced to find another hotel, which ended up costing us $70.00 more per night than what we planned on paying at new world. we booked our new room and was told that we would receive some sort of compensation, which never happened, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, we were told that our credit card would not be charged. Well, here is the bill, and here is the charge! We notified new world several times over the past three weeks and they promised that they had reversed our charge but after checking with our credit card company, they have not!! We have now had to go thru Visa to dispute this. A consumer is only given 60 days to dispute a charge and we believe that the hotel was just trying to put us off until that time has passed. I'm sorry, but a hotel in the south needs A/C, and this IS NOT a recent issue, i have now read reviews dating back to 2006 where people were complaining about no A/C. Why would you not fix these problems??? These people need to be replaced as they DO NOT know how to manage a hotel and their customer service is ridiculous. To top it all off, we were not the only guest that weekend with problems, another relative had to leave the hotel due to pest all over their room and the rat running by the entrance was the icing on the cake as we were leaving. i will never ever recommend this hotel to anyone.
