My husband and I dove the Oriskany with Tim and Viking Diving in late June 2014. This was hands down our favorite dive to date. Tim runs a very professional operation -- a clean and well-maintained boat, a friendly and helpful crew, and an atmosphere that is relaxed yet clearly safety-conscious. We felt comfortable the entire time, even though we are relatively inexperienced divers (~25 dives).
During the first dive of the day on the "O", Tim lead the four of us on the charter down to the Admiral's Deck and around the superstructure, giving us a great overview of the wreck. The "tour" was entirely optional - Tim told us the line he'd be diving and said we were welcome to follow if we liked, and equally welcome to strike out on our own (which we did on the 2nd dive of the day, once we knew where we'd like to look around more). We saw tons of wildlife, including beautiful tropical fish, a 6' sandbar shark, some barracuda, and even an octopus hiding in a pipe enjoying a lobster dinner.
Tim films and takes photos of the dives, which he posts to Viking Diving's Facebook page for customers to freely share. It's a great way to remember your dive and let friends and family share in the experience. We highly recommend Viking Diving and will be back to dive with them again soon!
