“Our grandson loves it and learns.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2014

Our four yeard old, his friends, children of friends, and many more are in awe when they enter the first time. Pensacola, and Colonial history, at a level young folks can understand and participate.

Well run, historicalyl accurate, lots of special for all ages. Hands on exhibits. Part of the Hisotrical Society.

Brings early America and the Gulf Coast to life.

Very low priced.

“Designed for young children and very affordable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2014 via mobile

This place is great for toddlers and preschoolers on a rainy day. There is plenty of room for the little ones and perfect to introduce them to museums. It is small compared to the ones in big cities, but if you think about all the effort that takes to keep this kind if place.... They have done a great job!! Oh and they also allow bday parties.

“A children's museum only by the loosest translation”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2014

We went with a 3year old and a 6 year old, it was 3 dollars a person to get in, which is cheap, it still wasn't worth it. There was a story time that the kids sat through and got cookies afterwords. The bottom floor has a few little exhibits, a house, a boat, a market, and a fort, there are some fake foods and a few fake wooden tools, as well as some wooden guns to play with. The kiddie corral for kids under 3 made me laugh out loud, it was an area about 3 feet wide by 5 feet long with a foot high picket fence around it and some Melissa and Doug animal puzzles strewn around. There is an elevator to the second floor, which is where you are greeted by a sign saying not to make noise, which would be understandable for maybe an art museum, but not a kids museum. I also liked the arrows pointing the way to different exhibits, the one that said Indians, had a computer printed sign taped over it saying "native Americans" Classy. Another favorite was an old map that they had helpfully outlined areas with colored tape to show where the "blacks" had lived in the days of yore. The top floor is not kid friendly and has little of interest to children. It seems like they put clunky handmade wooden toys in each room of a museum that was once geared towards adults. The outcome was that my wife, myself and in-laws were nonplussed, my children managed to have fun, just like kids will.

“Fun Local Experience for the Very Young!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2014

With the young (preschooler) in mind, it would be a playful experience to learn about early P'cola history, experience hands-on daily life of the settlers and adults to understand why the area is known as the City of Five Flags. There are many old photographs upstairs, which tell the history of Pensacola as the first settlement of North America by the Spanish, French and English...

“Newly Renovated!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 September 2013 via mobile

This is obviously designed with Children at heart, but I seem to enjoy the historical aspects of this much more than the kids!

The new exhibits are a fresh and much needed update.
