My husband and I stayed at this hotel from the 26 th Jan until the 12 Feb. A little problem with the first room we checked into. We were in a one bedroom suite. Even though the hotel has been renovated the appliances had not been changed. Also needed in the bathroom would be a fan for the steam from the shower. Even though the hotel was full, Luis was able to find us a better room to our liking. The inconvenience of this room if travelling with more adults would be that you have to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. The breakfast was perfect, plenty of choices. The nicest touch that we were impressed about is the 3 evenings that the hotel does on Tues, Wed, and Thurs between 5:30 and 7:30 they serve hot snacks with salad and unlimited beer and wine! That is hard to beat and that is why I say you certainly get your money's worth at this hotel. Publix conveniently across the street and Costco very near. Pool always clean and a nice temperature..Also for cool evenings there is a fire pit! Another nice touch!. And for these reasons I would recomend this hotel to my family and freinds and will return.

Room Tip: I would recomend to pay for a closed bedroom. Theses suites are bigger so for a long term stay feels...

We left our cruise ship at 8:30 am on Sunday Jan 5th. The hotel was willing to store our bags and made an extra effort to get our room ready for us to check into by 2 pm. We had a 2 bedroom suite and it was fabulous!! Clean, comfortable and faced the courtyard. The courtyard had multiple seating areas with chairs and sofas and tables and a lovely outdoor pool. There were 2 industrial BBQ's should you want to use them also. The inside lounge was spacious and there were many tables and chairs to sit at. The second relaxation / reading area was comfortable with a sofa/chaise and computers around the corner. My husband was able to check in and print our boarding passes at the computer (saved us a large headache at the airport). The public restrooms were clean and large. There was always ice water with citrus fruit in it available near the front desk. The morning breakfast (should you be up in time to enjoy it) was plentiful and good - it was laid out with plenty of serving room.
The location of this hotel was perfect. Less than 10 min drive to the airport. Across the street from a grocery store and restaurants and coffee shop but situated so it was on a quiet property. One of the hospital / health centres was also down the block. We loved this hotel. The room charge was reasonable compared to its counterpart in Calgary, AB.

Room Tip: If there is a sports team also staying at the hotel you may not want a room facing the courtyard if...

My family and I had three rooms booked here prior to a cruise leaving from Port Everglades. This review will only reflect my experience, since I did not stay in the other two rooms.

This hotel is new or newly renovated and the common areas and rooms are all physically in like new shape. All rooms are suites - we booked a studio suite, which was basically an oversize room with a kitchen. The layout and functionality of the room was very nice - the room also seemed modern, with a nice TV and comfortable bedding. AC was older, but kept the room nice and cold.

The hotel offers a very nice, free, hot breakfast, as well as free light dinners / drinks Tuesday - Thursday evenings.

The hotel had a small fitness room, business center, and pool / hot tub - all of which were nice to have and included in the room rate! Parking is also free and there are no hidden / resort fees at this property.

The hotel is in close proximity to restaurants and less than a ten minute drive to Sawgrass Mills Mall. It is very convenient to both Port Everglades and the Fort Lauderdale Airport, making it a great pre-cruise or flight hotel!

Our concern with this property is housekeeping. Upon checking, the room "appeared" clean. We soon noticed, however, that the toilet had dried urine all over the seat. Upon finding this, we called the front desk, who moved us to another room. Once we got in the second room, we immediately checked the bathroom, and found the toilet seat in the second room to also be covered in dried urine (much worse than the first room). At this point, we were quite frustrated. We asked to be moved to a third room and to have the room detailed from top to bottom (new sheets, etc.). This was done while we went out to dinner. Upon returning, we thoroughly inspected the third room, and it seemed much better. When such obvious things are overlooked, it really makes you wonder what problems and cleanliness issues may be overlooked that are not so obvious.

I will say that the staff was attentive on fixing these issues and seemed genuinely apologetic.

Based on housekeeping and cleanliness, I would think twice about staying again at what would otherwise have been an excellent pre or post cruise hotel option.

Room Tip: Check your room upon arrival for cleanliness!

We stayed here for just over two weeks in November and there were a good number of positives: 1) the location was great with a supermarket right across the street, as well as restaurants and a mall close by, 2) the facilities were good with a kitchenette in our suite, free wi-fi, a good free breakfast, and the courtyard was great place for our toddler to run around.

However the housekeeping did not impress - even though this is an extended stay hotel and each room is only cleaned once a week, we only had our sheets changed once in the 2 weeks despite numerous requests. And they never did thoroughly clean the room - my husband actually cleaned and vacuumed it himself one night! We mentioned this to the front desk while we were there and again upon checkout but don't feel that a satisfactory response was given. Our only other complaint was that we were not informed that they would be doing repairs to the courtyard while we were there - they started tearing up part of the courtyard a couple of days before we left, and the amount of dust and noise caused us to avoid the courtyard.

Unfortunately these two issues tainted our stay there and I'm not sure that we would stay here again.

I booked this hotel after seeing many recent bad reviews of the Bonaventure. I stayed here for three nights at the beginning of November and I was extremely pleased I did. A really nice hotel with a warm welcome, good sized rooms, clean, quiet and located perfectly for my shopping trips to Sawgrass. You also get a good buffet breakfast included and free, reliable wifi. For those where it is a real treat to eat your breakfast outside in the warmth there is a nice pool and garden area for this. Could not fault my stay and at a good price point.

Looking for a decent, not insanely expensive lodging central to everything in South Florida can be extremely daunting so when I found this property I was thinking it was too good to be true. It was in a good area, the amenities (especially for the price) could not be beat and the room itself was a standout. Clean, plenty of space and lots of neat features that made this stay one of my all time favorites. I am one of those travelers that a free breakfast can make or break a deal for me and this hotel's did not disappoint. Neither did the lush 'backyard' replete with a basketball court and BBQ grills. I absolutely loved this place and it will be my go-to place whenever I am in SoFlo.

Had a 3 night stay and it was pretty uneventful for the most part. Of note in the 2 bedroom suite, the a/c vent for is right over the sofa-bed in the living room and the provided "blanket" is not adequate. You will be cold. Also wish they had elevators spaced apart because if you are in the end rooms, prepare for a walk. Breakfast was nice. More hot options would have been nice. Egg omelette was bland. Did not try the manager's reception, but hot dog and salad bar didn't sound too appetizing anyway. I also dislike hotels where the bathroom vanity counter is outside the actual bathroom. Left a piece of tissue on the floor and met it there when i returned in the evening. When they say 'Light Housekeeping", they mean it lol. Would stay again however. Elite status was recognized and welcomed, so appreciated that. Homewood has the better dining, bathroom and bedding though.
