“Fabulous place to stay, but see wifi note”
Reviewed 15 May 2012

This is a clean hotel with beautiful views, friendly, courteous staff who seem eager to help you. I staid in a corner suite that had a master bed, jetted tub, two balcony. One over looking a pool and deck grill, the other, another pool and the ocean. Just beautiful views.there are two adult depth pools and one kiddy pool. There is a deli right of the main pool with great subs and even food from the grill. There is also a Tiki bar right off the main pool and there was live music there on the weekend. They have chair, kayak, and jet-ski rentals also.

I would have given it an excellent rating except for the "free wifi". Yes there is free wifi, but not "high speed" wifi. In fact its slower than dial up. Getting to some web pages takes a long time just to load the home page. Sending an email with any type of attachment is out of the question. Even my iphone could not send a small photo while connected to the wifi. It was 100 times faster using the 3g connection to view the web. So if you are here for business and need a fast web connection you would be out of luck, or on vacation trying to upload even one photo to the web or send it in an email. Other than the wifi issue this is a fabulous place to stay!!

Room Tip: I highly suggest the corner suite on the south side of the main building . Double balconies and grea...

We checked into our one bedroom deluxe condo for a six night stay. I was attending a convention, so my husband had to wait until 4:00 p.m. As a longtime owner, I have not waited until late afternoon to check in. This is not a luxury property, but it is right on the beach. It stormed with fierce winds during my stay. I cut my stay short by one day and many people checked out early since they could not go to the beach. The one activity that I planned to attend was canceled because no one showed up.

I would suggest that you rent a car, if you fly into Ft. Lauderdale. You can walk to a small store
and a few restaurants. You will need a car or taxi to get to the nicer restaurants and the new Publix Grocery Store on Atlantic Avenue. If you take a taxi, make sure that you have the address of your property. There's four resorts in the same general area.

The minor problems that we had at the resort were quickly taken care of by the staff. We did have drinks from the Tiki Bar show up on our room charge, but was quickly taken of our bill.
We didn't visit the bar. We did use the coupons from the resort for a great dinner at Sea Side Grill. It's not the type of place that I would have selected for dinner, but the food was good and there's live music and a view of the beach. We tried to return on a Friday night, but we couldn't find a parking space.

The resort is clean and well-maintained. There's a fitness center, pools, and snack shops. There's a small store and restaurant across the street where you can get drinks, wine, grocery items, pizza and other sandwiches. There's a church within walking distance. We chose to go into Miami for church. There's a Gospel Brunch downtown Miami at The City Hall Restaurant that was fun and tasty. We went to the Casino's several nights. Isle is located in Pompano with Hard Rock and Gulfstream near Ft. Lauderdale. Isle and Gulfstream are non-smoking.
If you like shellfish, Rustic Shack Crab House is a must try. It's not fancy, but good food. They are famous for their garlic shrimp. You can get fresh Maryland Crab, Alaskan Crab, oysters,
shrimp, lobster, etc. The restaurant is located off Griffin Road in Ft. Lauderdale.

If you are into sports, there's always Heat basketball and Marlin's baseball. We spent a rainy afternoon in the Marlin's new stadium. We didn't need our umbrella's once we entered the stadium. Plan a day trip to South Beach to do a little people watching, as well. There's great boat tours of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.

I was disappointed that I didn't get an ocean front unit on this stay. We did have 7712 with an ocean view and a large wrap-around balcony. It was so wet and windy that we couldn't use it.
If you are traveling with children or another couple the second bathroom is a plus.

We will definitely park our luggage at this resort again in the future when we cruise or attend a convention in Ft. Lauderdale. The big plus is that it is quiet, you sleep well, and it's on the beach.

Room Tip: Request they type of view that you want when you reserve your unit.

I stayed here for 5 days using Interval Exchange. The rooms were very nice and roomy. There was a small patio and balcony overlooking the ocean, but no screens. We assummed that the wind and sheer curtains would keep the bugs out during the night, as we chose open windows to the air conditioner. The facility was close to everything, including a nice drive to Miami, the Everglades, the Butterfly Park, the Flamingo Gardens, lunch and shopping on Los Olas. Free parking was inside a secure parking structure. The was a liquor/food store across the street.

I just returned from the WRV (3/17-3/24). We have been Wyndham owners for 10 years but this was the 1st tim here. The location can't be beat - right on the beach. The beach/ocean was clean. There were 2 pools and an abundant # of chairs. The whole facility was very clean. We had a 2 bedroom and it was very spacious and worked well for my family of 4. There was plenty of parking. Pompano Beach is ALOT more laid-back than Fort Lauderdale. Shopping and restaraunts were close. We will come back next year for Spring Break!

Stayed in 1BR deluxe unit (5513) January 7 - 14, 2012. We had an excellent view from this unit. Like the wrap around balcony. In September 2011, we stayed in a 2BR unit. We were not pleased with the limited ocean view from that unit.

The air conditioner was loud, and we also saw a few ants in the kitchen. We also would have preferred separate switches in the bath to control exhaust fan and lighting; but we were not overly concerned about either. Wi-Fi availability was sporadic. There were too few connections for the number of residents.

We like the area, and the close proximity to the beach. Wish Royal Vista had a true poolside restaurant on the property. The snack bar and grill are very limited.

This is not a luxurious property; but we found it to be clean and comfortable. We had a great stay, and we like the place enough to return again in September 2012.

We had a great time here in early 2012. The only complaint that i have is that you had to make sure that your door was closed all of the way when you left your room. Other than that this is a very nice place to stay. I will stay here again in the future.

Room Tip: We had a 2 BR suite that had alot of room.

Checked in on Christmas eve and had a flawless checkin. Our one bedroom unit was huge with a wrap around balcony- from one side we could sit and enjoy the ocean and from the other watch the sun set beyond the intercostal. The unit is updated with granite and flat screens. The kitchen is well appointed with higher end appliances that all work. One pool is heated and we never had a problem finding a lounger. It is directly on the beach which we walked on each day. It is pleasant walk to the pier where there are some shops and restaurants and there are several grocery stores in the area but IMO you need a car to really enjoy the area. There are all kinds of restaurants on the A1A and lots of places to explore. It is north of the Ft Lauderdale scene and somewhat quieter which appealed to us.
Have not been here for over 6 years and cannot wait to come back next year.

Room Tip: From what we could see - all of the rooms have a view - there are some larger units directly on the...
