“Very Nice Hotel with Friendly Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2009

We stayed in a 2 bedroom room. It was me and my husband in one room, and my parents in the other room. There were 2 separate bathrooms, and one bathroom had a washer and dryer. The rooms were spacious and clean. We did see a lizard in the hallway of the hotel, which freaked me out, but my husband insisted the lizard was harmless.
All of the staff were extremely friendly but one lady at the front desk would not take our beach towels and told us to wait for the towel boy.
The staff were very active with the children. Tossing a football with the children. Playing checkers. Coconut bowling. Water balloon toss. etc...

we had a split reservation and the 1st room was GREAT. spacious etc. minor issue of the garbage can didn't flip open once you stepped on it and the table was off a hinge in the living room but 1 quick call to the front desk and someone was there to fix both asap.

porches rocked !!!
you DEF need a car as unlike va beach there are no stores or restaurants across the street . its just other other hotels so not much to do unless you have a car or you consider walgreens and cvs a hang out spot.

when you book your reservation ask to stay in the portion of the hotel that is in the same building as the front desk . this is where out 1st room was and way nice! the 2nd room for our last night was not so nice. i think it was room 1101 on the 1st floor. we walked i n and the pull out was open with no sheet. the fridge ha d rust stains and the kitchen smelled a little sour. its a handicapped room which was fine but just tell us before hand, its our fault it was a split reservation anyway. also didn't like the fact that it was on the 1st floor right on the beach. im from brooklyn, ny and it kind of made me nervous to be so close in the wide open (granted the porch doors locked and all) just being a bit paranoid like i said it was only one night in the room and we survived.

but its a beach resort so it gives a beach rustic vibe. i don't think its run down at all. i mean its no wyndham grand desert in vegas but it suits its community/area. the beds were comfortable, the view amazing, 3 pools and right on the beach. RIGHT on it!!!. you can rent chairs, cabana's and jet skis etc right there from the hotel beach area once you get to the back. the little store makes great omelets.

i would DEF DEF stay again just not in the detached building on the 1st floor. but then again it was just that room don't hold it against the entire hotel.

ENJOY YOUR STAY!!!

My husband and I rented a timeshare unit for the week of June 12-June 19th. I was surprised at the large size of the unit. It was a one bedroom but had two full bathrooms and a jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. We had a wraparound balcony that had views of both the ocean and the intracoastal(from a distance across A1A). The resort has direct access to the beach, 2 swimming pools and a small kiddie pool. There is a charge to use the lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach. The hotel does not have a full service restaurant. It has a deli/market that has variable hours but usually 9 to 4. The shopping center across the street has a small market , liquor store and beach supply shop. The Publix market on Atlantic has everything you need.

There are 2 restaurants in easy walking distance(Stingers and Beachcomer). My husband thought Joe's Riverside Grill and Blue Moon Fish had great seafood. I am a vegetarian and all the restaurants we went to have veggie platters. I would recommend Sublime to anyone who wants an excellent vegetarian meal. You really need a car to fully experience the area attractions and the restaurants. The concierge gave us a coupon book for the area and a list of restaurants in close driving distance. We went to about 4 restaurants on the list and they were all very good to great. If you prefer chain restaurants they are mostly on Rt. 1.

One disappointment was the snorkeling. We brought our equipment thinking we could snorkel from shore. There is not much to see close to the beach. A strong swimmer could swim out to a reef but watch out for waverunners! We did a boat snorkel trip that was ok. It may just have been the time of year but the snorking that we experienced was not great. We rented a boat for a few hours and I would highly recommend that. We also rented a waverunner from the beach which was alot of fun.

The staff was helpful and friendly. They were always trying to keep the common areas clean. The check in was very smooth. We arrived early and they called us when the room was ready. There is free internet access. The hotel also has dvd rentals.

It was an easy drive to downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Lauderdale by the Sea is only 3 miles away and is a very quaint beach town. There is a really good ice cream place there. Wings is a good place to buy any beach supplies.

From the moment we talked to the staff at the front desk to check out we were treated like pampered people at this resort. The suites are wonderfully large and bright. Our 1-bedroom would comfortably held 4 people (actually we had considered a holding a dance in the bathroom it was so large). Everything in the suite worked and all resort amenities and activities were up and running as promised. I honestly think they even ordered in the warmth and sunshine for us. We enjoyed the Royal Vista so much we are considering a return stay at another time.

We spent Christmas thru New Year's at the Royal Vista, and it was great!! It is right on the Beach, and has 2 pools if you fear the Ocean. Aside from room inventory issues, our stay was fine. I suggest contacting the hotel directly to confirm your room a week or so before you get there. You don't want to show up expecting Ocean front or view, and end up staring at A1A. As I recall, rooms ending in 01,02,03, and 04 are the Ocean FRONT rooms. In our 9 nights there, we had a room facing A1A, and a room 8005, which had a view of the Ocean on the North side of the building. The area around the Hotel is basically quiet. Not much happening. The beach was great, and you can rent cabana's jetski's and other beach stuff right there. There is a small strip mall across the street with a Restaurant/Bar(Stinger's) and a convenience store that is open all night. Stinger's serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is open untill 2.a.m. The other place "near" by is north of the Hotel on Atlantic. There is an Irish Pub and an Italian place(Frank's) that seems to have come from Little Italy in New York. You can dine in, or have a slice of pie on the go. Awesome. No need to leave the Hotel to eat if you stock your nice clean kitchen with food. The Publix Grocery is on Atlantic just west of the coastal on the north side of the street. If you want to avoid the long wait at the Atlantic stop light to head west, just turn a couple blocks before that and take the next street that runs parallel to A1A. Better yet, don't leave at all, and just hang out with way-cool Joe at the Tiki Bar. Joe knows mixers and brew. He also knows how to mix it up with people from all over and he can relate to young and old. We enjoyed Joe's stories, even if the truth seemed mildly stretched. The local's that hang there were fun-loving cool people. Dicky-V and Joe-Pa were great!!!! The Hotel is in what I would call a quiet neighborhood. Our deluxe rooms were very clean, modern, and well maintained. I slept great on the bed's and we will be going back again. Owners: It's nice. You will be asked numerous times to get that "Owner Update" that all the Wyndham's want you to take. The choice is yours. Have a great time!!!!

  • Liked — Clean rooms and kitchen's
  • Disliked — Early close time on the Tiki Bar

We just returned from a week's vacation at the Wyndam Royal Vista. The condo's are great. We had a 1 bedroom unit and it was plenty of room for 3 adults. There was lots of storage & closet space, all your items you would need from home to live.
The hotel was always clean and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a very pleasant time at our condo. on our vacation.
My Suggestions: It would be nice if they had a hot tub area and a hospitality room for people that have a late flight, and would like to spend the day at the pool or beach that way you would have a place to get cleaned up since check-out is at 10:00 a.m.
We would definately return here!!!

  • Liked — Pool/Beach area,
  • Disliked — Early check-out, no place to shower if you have late flights.

My family and I just returned from Royal Vista in Pompano Beach (2 children 11 & 8). The units were immaculate and the service could not do more for you. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. It seems that this was once Fairfield, Wyndam has updated accomodations and changed staff. The kitchen was fully stocked and each room had a TV. The pictures online are not accurate when it comes to the pool area (maybe old) There are 2 large pools and a baby pool. The beach is within steps of the pool area (no lifeguards) but the water is calm and the waves are small. There are grocery stores and shops down A1A (not within walking distance) so you should rent a car or take a taxi. We rented a car (hotwire) because the hotel did not have a shuttle from the airport - too bad. We were looking for a casual vacation, and that is what we got. Beautiful beach, everything cleaned all day - pool and grounds without disturbing guests. We were told the activites people were new this is the only area that is seriously in need of help. We took one excursion Jungle Queen they took you in the intercoastal and told you stories of their famous then you stopped at their "island" where they had a guy do a 10 min aligator show and you saw caged birds and monkeys (not my cup of tea) it cost us 75.00 you can hop off and on the water taxi all day for 13 and get the same info - animals. When you check in you are sent to "concierge" which is really timeshare salespeople. We were offered $75 to come to breakfast and give our opinion of the resort because they are new owners - we own a timeshare and had traded for this vaca so we were told that we would not have to listen to the sales and would take 45 minutes ha ha ha - I confronted her on it and she gave a indirect answer - so there you go - we refused but they left notes on our door and messages on the phone anyway. This is a nice place to stay that needs a little impovement only time will tell. Beach bum vacation for sure - great CLEAN resort.
