From the outside, I thought we were headed into a rockin joint. Not the case. This is a small and quiet place at the end of a quiet and not so busy street.
The fella that waited on us was cool. the food was incredibly tasty and very creative. He even let us try a few sips of grog before we decided on what to drink. The place has a gazillion beer selections.
We'll defnintely go back there on our next trip. Btw, very good value.

Brother T's is my favorite restaurant in Pompano Beach. The beer selection is unlike any you can find in the area and the food is out of this world! Try one of the nightly specials to really get a taste of what the chef is capable of. The burger, Burgatory, is one of the best burgers I have ever had.

Brother Tuckers is a wonderfully-quirky brewpub. Absolutely top-flight beers, excellent food, and a pleasant environment. While there is, technically, a "bar" at the back of the pub at which patrons can sit, there's no bartender standing there waiting to serve; the beer taps and refrigerators are behind the scenes. Just take a seat at an empty table; the server will be over in a flash to help you figure out what to order. The variously-sized tables are spaced well-apart, a high-topped table right by the front windows to enjoy the street scene, and about three tables outdoors. The ubiquitous flat-screen TV was mounted in the corner, but refreshingly quiet (golf was on), so not at all intrusive. There's also, oddly, an ATM in the corner. My husband and I were there from about 4p - 6p on a Saturday night, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

The beer and food menus are both very carefully chosen. Rather than offer everything-and-the-kitchen-sink, Brother Tuckers has decided to focus on a few outstanding beverage and food options. Very good decision.

From a beer perspective, they have four rotating taps and approximately two dozen bottle options. I also noted about a dozen wines, also very carefully selected. Our server enthusiastically offered to give us a sample of each on-tap beer. These are no wimpy, one tablespoon samples. The samples were generous enough for my husband and me to really take in each, and make an informed decision. That's much appreciated. The server spoke knowledgeably about all the beers. Brother Tuckers offers beers from Florida, as well as from other parts of the US and Europe.

Upon consultation, and after trying two of the four on-tap options, we settled on one bottled beer (Cigar City Brewing's Cubano Espresso Stout) and one draught (Dogfish Head's Tweason Ale). Both were excellent. As we, of course, couldn't sample the bottles, we were relying entirely on the server's description. Well, his description was spot-on; How Cigar City distills the delicious essence of coffee beans and cacao into a beer is a marvel.

On to the food. From the menu, you can choose beef, fish, shellfish, vegetarian, chicken, and pork. And, they have daily specials - two soups and two entrees. Explaining to our server that we were from out-of-state, and wanting his "must have" recommendations, we took his suggestions of the steak chimichurra from the specials, and the fish tacos from the menu.

Yum! Fresh, perfectly prepared, delicious, and generous. The portions were generous, and looked as good as they tasted. The fish was sauteed or pan-fried, not deep-fried, so we got to really taste the delicious fish mixed in with uber-crunchy slaw, and sweet pineapple, mangos, and kiwi. The steak was perfectly-cooked with a wonderful, freshly made salsa verde. And, on the side were mashed sweet potatoes to die for.

From other reviews, I was very curious to actually see this restaurant. Using GPS, we had no trouble finding the front. And, we parked in the lot behind the restaurant. As noted by other reviewers, you can walk into the restaurant two ways: from the street side or the kitchen. If you walk in from the parking lot through the kitchen, note that Brother Tucker's does not have a sign on their back door. All the other small businesses do. You'll know you're walking in to the right door if it doesn't have a sign on the awning.

By walking through the kitchen, my husband and I had the chance to look carefully at cleanliness. We were very satisfied. And, the bathrooms are also very clean. Tiny, but clean.

Superb beer selection, a few on tap and the rest bottled. Food outstanding, fresh and well-prepared. Do not miss the specials board. Call before your visit...hours of operation seem to flex a bit, but this place is worth your trouble.
