The Lodge and Club at Ponte Vedra Beach
Certificate of Excellence

For the money it's the best place to stay in Florida. It's very clean and very quiet and the people there couldn't be more helpful. There are no crowds or hassles and the beach there has waves to play in. Do yourself a favor and check out The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.. You won't be disappointed

We checked in to a beautiful suite with an ocean view that was second to none. We didn't expect the rooms to be as large and inviting as they were. My daughter lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, so we wanted to stay somewhere close, but still feel like we were on a vacation. The Lodge was exactly what we were looking for.

We loved the breakfasts, and the customer service was impecable. My wife and I were always greeted with a smile, and if there was a special request it was met without question.

We did have a glitch with our computer one day. A technician came to our room, helped us with the problem, and helped us debug our computer as well...he was very kind.

Our plans have changed and we have to back to Ponte Vedra in a week, and have already made our reservations at the Lodge, and plan to bring our other daughter and her family with 4 grandchildren with us. We are looking forward to making the Lodge a permanent vacation place while spending time in Ponte Vedra!

Checked in to celebrate my 60th birthday. The room view of the Ocean was fantastic ... just what we had expected. The CARPET in the room was another view we couldn't believe. FILTHY is an understatement and when they sent housekeeping to "vacuum" the lady said "we've been so busy, we haven't had time to really clean the rooms". This carpet needed to be replaced ... it was old and FILTHY !
We were assigned another room and the carpet was still not spotless, but after an eight hour drive, we were exhausted, so settled for an "upgrade" to another suite. At first the manager was going to "let us" stay in this room until they cleaned the carpet of our original room and then move us back. What the??? This is a four star resort and their best offer was to "let us stay in the upgraded suite" until they cleaned up their dirt and they would waive the $30 upcharge? I don't think so...
When we told the manager that housekeeping told us how busy and understaffed they were, we suddenly didn't have to pay the $30 up-grade charge and could stay for the same price we originally reserved ... $300.00 per night. What a deal ???

Oh it gets better ... tonight we ordered room service and the steak was amazing. We were complimenting and really enjoying the meal until we got to the Key Lime pie. It was delicious, but the whole experience was moving ... literally. Ants were underneath the piece of pie and after our second bite ... there they were. Sharing each decedent bite. ANTS ... $106.00 for two steaks and ANTS !!!
Called room service to come pick up the tray and showed him the infested dessert. He just said " I so sorry" and carted it away !

Can't wait to see what's in store for the remainder of this adventure. Would go ahead and check out, but we've worked in customer service for thirty years plus and realize that most situations are not perfect. I've got my can of Lysol and won't be ordering room service again ... Happy Birthday to Me ! Four Stars ... I don't think so !!!

Our third trip to the Lodge in four years...we've read some of the more negative reports, but have never experienced the issues reported, not that they don't occur, but not with us. The staff continues to be great, remembering us by name, even wishing my wife a happy birhday. It is true that the prices in the resturants are not cheap, but you have to remember this is not only a hotel, but a private club. As a member of a local (NJ) country club, the prices are not out of line, and the sevice has always been exceptional for us. We usually get the same room, and together with a very large balcony, living area, fireplace, and the normal room stuff it all works, we'll definately be back. Are there other places where you can get the same level of service? Sure there are, but we enjoy the area, and private club atmosphere of the Lodge.

My husband and I spent a wonderful, memorable night here as a fifteenth wedding anniversary celebration having previously stayed here on our honeymoon and prior to that being a temporary member of the Club for 4 months. Our visit brought back great memories. We stayed in a preferred king oceanfront room with double balcony fireplace and jacuzzi. All the staff were attentive and friendly especially Jay on reception and Suzanne and Keri in the restaurant. Excellent ambience with wonderfully comfortable bed.The room temperature was perfect and easily adjustable .We enjoyed the jacuzzi ,the candle being a delightful extra touch. There was an ice bucket and keurig coffee machine in the room, with ice readily available in the corridor just outside the room. There was a fairly standard mini bar in the room with disposable drinks cups. It would have been pleasant to have had real crockery and glasses , though there were glasses in the bathroom.Complimentary afternoon tea was served in the Innlet Lounge with a choice of hot or iced tea and a range of tasty sandwiches, scones, brownies and cookies. We had a truly exquisite dinner in the Innlet Dining room overlooking the ocean from our candlelit window table. The food was very well presented with a great combination of flavors. The sesame tuna was so fresh it tasted like it had just jumped straight out of the ocean. The chocolate covered strawberries at the end of our meal we saved to have on our balcony watching the sunrise the following morning. The gym and family/lap pool have been refurbished since our last visit with an opulent ,comfortable and inspiring changing room with same sex sauna steam room and hot tub , The Gym looked popular and busy though we just swam laps in a clean and quiet pool at an ideal temperature. Breakfast in the Innlet dining room was presented ,as dinner, to the same high standards with eggs benedict arranged with fresh fruit cooked to perfection without being overdressed by the hollandaise sauce. Our visit was all too short but a real spoil considering we have a property less than 2 miles away!

Due to our early flight we we were encouraged to arrive to the hotel early as well to have lunch at the hotel and they could probably get us into our room by 1:00ish so we did have lunch at the hotel but unfortunately had to wait there until 3:00pm for our "early check-in". That was the worst of the stay and soon forgotten once we were in our room a Superior Ocean King with a private balcony and incredible view of the ocean. The room was very roomy and clean/comfortable, nice high ceilings with a ceiling fan. Yes this hotel is more for adults but you can go to the sister hotel if you want to utilize the services or restaurants as well. The rooms were very quiet we never heard neighbors.

We had lunch, breakfast and dinner at the Innlet Dining Room and both chef's were incredible!! The food was wonderful!!

This hotel was a great choice for us, staff were very friendly and helpful! We loved our stay.
