Although Gamble Place has very irregular visiting hours, you can still take a pleasant stroll around the property any time during the day. Simply park in front of the main gate, walk a few feet through brush around the locked gates, and then continue a few hundred feet down the access road to the cottage, citrus packing house and Snow White's Cottage. You can peer through windows of the buildings and get a good idea of the interiors and the circa 1920 furniture. Avoid tampering with doors or windows -- you might set off a burglar alarm. Several signs scattered around the property give a detailed history of the Gamble family (of Proctor & Gamble fame) and their pals in high society. A fascinating glimpse of Florida tourism as it existed prior to Disney and interstates. A boardwalk along Spruce Creek leads you to interesting flora & fauna, including turtles, water birds and the occasional alligator. You might want to dab on some mosquito repellent and wear a sun hat. Next door is a concession for renting canoes and kayaks if you are feeling adventurous.

Located next to Cracker Creek, this is a good history of an old hunting/fishing cottage for the Gamble Family. Not fancy but peaceful Old Florida history.

Little slice of country. You can take canoes & kayaks out for a paddle. Property is nice. They have a fire pit and a covered area to sit and eat.

I had no idea this existed. Enjoyed it immensely during the spring visit I made with a friend. Yes, I wish the Snow White cottage was open, but it's just a fun place to walk around. Cute little dinosaur mural in the ladies room. You can't beat the price. Not disappointed at all.

So, the building is interesting to walk around...but you get very little information since there are no "tours" except pre-arranged school/large tour groups. This is a shame, as you can see that there is a lot of history here. All the houses are closed off, but I suppose what can you expect for $2 admission.
