“A relaxing break”
Reviewed 13 October 2011

This was my first time coming to the Cape San Blas area. It was also my first time staying at a bed and breakfast. The breakfast was far better than my husband and I were expecting. We loved that they had everything you needed to enjoy the area (like bikes, beach chairs, and kayaking) at no extra charge. I think our favorite part was kayaking on the bay. We absolutely loved getting to paddle around and see all of the interesting wildlife in the area.

I have been to Cape San Blas several times now and the beach is so quiet and secluded even during holidays like 4th of July. My prior trips involved large groups so we rented condos or townhomes. For this trip, I needed to find an equally enjoyable but more affordable option and Cape San Blas Inn turned out to be what I was looking for. Each room is comfortable and different and the hotel is walking distance to the beach. The innkeeper is incredibly friendly and cooks a hot breakfast each morning. We ate out on the deck, went for a bike ride to the nearby state park with the inn's bikes, went kayaking/canoeing on the bay with the inn's boats, and ate at local dives and nice restaurants in Port St. Joe and Apalachicola. The inn is clean, laid-back, well-decorated and the owners maintain the place very well. Take a look at the 360 views of the rooms online and it will give you a good idea of how nice the place is but it doesn't show how nice the inn's backyard is with a hot tub, deck, and bay access. I would definitely go back and at $150 per room, it's a good deal especially for a place that is so close to the beach.

My new husband and I chose Cape San Blas Inn as our honeymoon destination, and we are so pleased! Wendy, the Inn keeper, is a true asset to the Inn, along with her husband Glenn. The rooms are beautiful and private and the breakfast was phenominal. There is nothing like a gourmet, home cooked breakfast delivered to your private porch (if you choose a room with) each and every morning! The tv's are large, the linens are extremely nice, and the place was spotless the entire time. I can still smell the scent of true fresh cotton on all of the towels and linens. Wendy and Glenn went above and beyond during our stay, and even left chocolate covered strawberries and a flower in our room because of our special occasion. We chose this quaint little island upon a whim and had never been there before. Being from the Jacksonville area, we were delighted to see BEAUTIFUL, uncrowded beaches, scallops, white sand, and tons of sea shells. The kayaks and canoes available for use were perfect since we are avid fishermen. Overall, we had an amazing honeymoon, and we will gladly be back to see Wendy!!!!

Room Tip: The scallop room was perfect. Located on the back corner of the house, it has its own private porch...

My wife and I spent the weekend at Cape San Blas Inn and loved it. Wendy and Glen do a great job and couldn't be nicer. They kept saying things like "we know there's not much to do" like it was a negative. That was the best part. Beautiful uncrowded beaches are all we needed. The rooms, food and things like bikes and kayaks were great. We will definitely go back.

Room Tip: Ask about the big room upstairs facing the bay. Great view!

Cape San Blas in was a wonderful find. Will go back again to relax on the beautiful uncrowded beaches. A delicious breakfast is served every morning in the dining area or in your room. Bicycles and kayaks are available for guest to use during their stay. Can not wait to return again.

Innkeeper Wendy sets the tone at this lovely and gracious bed and breakfast inn. Her breakfasts are beautiful to look at, delicious to eat and provide plenty of energy for a day of canoeing or kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, walking the beach, or otherwise exploring this beautiful area on Florida's northern Gulf coast. Wendy knows the Forgotten Coast well and can recommend restaurants or local activities guaranteed to please even the most discriminating guest. Though not at all intrusive, she gets to know her guests well enough to make you feel as if you have a new, very special friend. The inn's rooms and public areas are all tastefully furnished and most have views of St. Joseph Bay (the inn's "back yard"). The Gulf of Mexico is a walking distance of less than five minutes away. Cape San Blas Inn is an ideal destination for couples, friends get-aways or anyone seeking a beautiful and relaxing retreat.

Rooms were very clean. Blinds in our room weren't large enough to cover the window so the light from the convenience store across the street came through our windows. Fairly tasteful decor. Had to ask for extra towels because they only gave us two (which isn't being a very good host in my opinion- it's not motel 6!). Wifi was terrible- could hardly access it and when you did it would constanty log you off.
Breakfast was mediocre. I'm not much of a cook and I could have made it.
No refund if you need to leave early or cancel within a week of your arrival date. We had to eat the cost of our last night d/t needing to leave because of a tropical storm. They should make an exception for weather! There is NOTHING to do in the area if it is raining.
Average service- definitely didn't go above and beyond.
When the weather is nice the cape is a beautiful place to visit. There aren't many places to stay, but I still won't stay at this Inn again.
