“Simply the best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014 via mobile

If you are wanting to spend your money on a fancy decorated restaurant this is not your place. If you love simply prepared seafood with a welcoming atmosphere and come as you are dress code. This the place for you!! The best Gumbo I have ever had!!! I am so looking forward to going in again this September.

“Good place for basic seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014 via mobile

This is a very casual place in what seems like the middle of nowhere...lots of University Of Florida decorations (hard for this die hard Georgia Bulldog but, hey, I am in Florida after all!!). Love the honor system for the beer- even poured my own draft. Tons of beer selections. The smoked fish dip was delicious- excellent flavor. We also had the naked oysters and they were good but I am just a raw oyster fan. They had raw oysters but I decided not to order them since raw oysters had received bad P.R. in these parts lately. I will come back for raw oysters and more fish dip. The only negative was that they were not crowded at all- this was a Tuesday at lunch- and the baked oysters took a really long time to arrive. I also appreciated the fact that they take credit cards as many restaurants in this area do not.

“Did we eat at the same place?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014 via mobile

We had just talked about going into a restaurant that smelled like a fish market and turning around & walking out. We should have done that here. Empty when we arrived and I thought ok its the oysters. (Even though my oyster bar at home does not smell) ordered hamburgers that smelled funny too and were tasteless. This place has no ventilation and after more people came in ordering steamed food, the odors got to be a bit overpowering. We want be back. Save yourself and go to Port St. Joes

What a fun and delicious place!! If you like spicy, order the steamed shrimp with Cajun seasoning and enjoy yourself!! If you are a Florida Gator, you will love it even more. Gator Blue and Orange Floor !

“We Really Wanted to Like”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2014

We like off the wall places the locals hang out. We also read reviews. Most reviews were great so our party of 6 went on a Friday around 6 pm. Wait was 35-40 min. We expected that. Outside while waiting or hanging out was karaoke. That made time pass fast. Bring bug spray coz Mosquitos are out and about. The oysters ARE small tiny!!! 12 steamed oysters had 5 of them smaller than dimes, barely larger than green peas! (Fourteen ninety five)......the 12 Stuffed shrimp were good but only 2 pieces garlic bread as a side. (Fifteen ninety five). Copa wine (remember the arrogance from Sharktank?) is five fifty per cup. Pitcher beer Seven fifty. Steamed crab legs were nineteen ninety five. I don't understand the 0-$10 price tag given. Only thing under $10 is either a bowl of gumbo, fish dip or kids menu. We had trouble getting an order of baked oysters and finally they packed them and gave free when we were leaving. They were dry and TINY. If a person has to fill up on bread and crackers to feel full, something is wrong. They sell a lot of beer so maybe that has something to do with the positive reviews. We REALLY would have loved to give a rave review but even average rating was too much.
