When in the area be sure to visit the Fishermen's Village. Lots of shopping, you sure to find something you can't live without. A variety of restaurants are located on the pier, some with views of the river. Boats also give tours from the pier. Local events and shows abound. Lots of free parking.

A wonderful place that is very different to other areas of Punta Gorda. It has great restaurants, fabulous views out to the Peace River, interesting small independent shops, including boutiques and lovely ice-cream etc. A place to go for lunch, dinner, coffee or just to wander around and relax, especially when there is free, live music, which is most nights. There is plenty of parking at the Village and more across the road by the duck pond.
Go for the sunsets - you will not be disappointed but get there early.

Yes, it is somewhat touristy, but Fishermen's Village offers so much to the visitor and to the locals as well. Something is going on all the time and most of it is free! Bands, shows like the recent staged Pirate show, art shows, children events are all well done and fun to boot. Many restaurants to choose from and they are all fair to good and the prices are reasonable. Boat rentals and harbor cruises are fairly priced and a terrific activity for the visitor. Many inexpensive to fairly upscale shops are available to spend some shopping time as well. If you go to Punta Gorda you must visit Fishermen's Village.

Have been here during the day, and at night to watch the sunset. It was wonderful! If you come to Punta Gorda, and you miss Fisherman's Village then you have missed something that is great to see. There are Shops, Food, more Shops, and if you drink you have to visit Harpoon Harry's at the north end for that beautiful Florida Sunset. Also if you have the privilage of being in Florida in Dec. you have to come here to watch the parade of boats. You won't be sorry!
