“Excellent food at the Peace River Seafood restaurant”
Reviewed 23 April 2014 via mobile

Delightful ambiance, excellent seafood, attentive staff. Sitting outside amongst great old trees and fauna only added to the good food. Blue crabs were excellent. Truly a quaint place to visit end enjoy.

“Can't wait to go back..........”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

This "restaurant" features fresh seafood. Really fresh. And, we were lucky to find this place. Headed back from Orlando toward Ft. Myers, we spotted it amongst the trees and did a quick turnaround to head back to it. We found ourselves in the coolest "fish house". Nothing fancy, but it was clean, lively and busy in a laid-back kind of way.

Debby was our waitress and happily led us through their specials. She mentioned that their lobster bites were one of her favorites and so we ordered the big special for two that included these tender morsels. Large firm pink shrimp and two good-sized crab cakes accompanied this entree. Well, these lobsters were amazingly delicious. They were nestled in the lobster shell (large Florida tail) and there were so many of them. A smooth and tangy remoulade sauce and light mustard sauce further enhanced the flavor of these bites. The crab was mostly all crab meat and we even ended up taking a cake home with us as we couldn't finish it. Red bliss potatoes were divine and we enjoy nibbling the corn on the cobs.

This restaurant has an assortment of different rooms to dine in. We were lucky to get the last one available and were quite comfortable sharing this tiny room and sat on a picnic style bench and table. Three other diners also had their own picnic table setup and were enjoying their dinner as much as we were. We were just one big happy family. What a welcome relief this "fish house" is from all the cookie cutter restaurants we usually see. I only wish it was closer to home. But, definitely, it is worth an hour's ride out.

The food is good and the staff very friendly. The rustic ambience is quaint but the food is why you would go there.

“IT'S A MYSTERY”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

why this place is one of my favorites - but I keep going back anyway. I so prefer it to the fancy crab place in town. This place is small, crowded, rushed, runs out of stuff, uses paper towels for napkins - well you get the picture. I've never had crab, so I can't speak to them. Chowders are excellent, as are crab cakes and shrimp. It's just one of those love it or hate it places & I love it. Note - I think the prices are the same for both lunch & dinner.

“delicious and fresh”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

We were on our way home from Miami and decided to stop for lunch. What a pleasant surprise. We were seated outside on the porch after a short wait at a picnic style table setup. The place was packed at 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. (good sign) The staff were all very pleasant and knew their menu. The oysters and shrimp were FRESH!! The chowder was excellent. The food temperatures were correct. There were many locals there and everyone raved about the place. The only dissapointment was the restroom facilities. Only one bathroom for everyone and it wasn't very nice.
There was a seafood market on site, you could purchase fresh seafood to take home and use your own restroom.
