“Great Cuban breakfast for lunch”
Reviewed 8 September 2013 via mobile

We were driving through Punta Gorda and consulted Tripadviser for a likely lunch spot. We picked Morales and were not disappointed. We decided to order breakfast which was still being served at 11:30. My husband is still raving about the hamsteak that came with his eggs, as well as the Cuban toast. The highlight of the meal was the Cuban coffee con leche, which we tried for the first time, and was absolutely delicious. We're hoping to find a good Cuban spot in Orlando which serves that wonderful coffee.

“Home Cooked Cuban”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

Our group of 18 had reservations for 6:30 on a Saturday evening. Lucky for us we had the owners waiting on us, Alex and Dayani, needless to say we were taken care of on a personal level. A few members of our group spoke Spanish which was helpful when ordering. I had the oxtail with white rice and black beans, yucca, and sweet plantains. The oxtail was cooked to perfection and fell off the bone. They also have a Cuban sandwich and a version with extra meat which was about 4 inches tall and well worth the extra money, it is big enough for 2 meals. The skirt steak was very good and tender with a great taste. Pork, roasted or fried were both very good with seasonings and made with care. Owners Alex and Dayani are very friendly people and want everyone who comes to Morales to leave happy and satisfied and the service we received reflected their devotion.

“Excellent!!!!”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

We had Morales recommended to us by a local so decided to try it for dinner tonight. It is truly authentic Cuban cuisine. We are Canadian, were married in Cuba, and have vacationed in Cuba several times. This is exactly what you get in Cuba. Excellent, fresh food. We tried a few different things on the menu - potatoes stuffed with yucca, beef empanada's, skirt steak with shrimp and smoked pork with sweet plantains, rice and beans. It was a lot of food, but we ate it all. our next visit to Punta Gorda this will definitely be the first place we go to. Restaurant is spotless and great Cuban ambience too. Was ready to do a Cuban dance on the way out! LOVED IT!!!!! I know a few others have mentioned the service was slow but for us it was super fast. maybe 12 minutes for our appetizers then the mains came 5 minutes later.

“Clean as a pin and great Cuban food!”
Reviewed 2 August 2013

We stopped by for lunch based on a recommendation of a friend. This is a converted house in downtown Punta Gorda. Decor is neat, cute, and clean as a pin. The rooms are small and tables are just a bit tight.
The menu had a great selection of cuban dishes and sandwiches. We each had a different item and loved it. This is a small restaurant, and i would suspect that if everyone showed up at the same time, the kitchen could get slammed and maybe service a bit slow. But we had excellent service and we were there in a crowded noon hour. Beer and wine.

“food here is great, the service is on island time”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

if you're going here bring your patience with you. Services at best slow. But, I think that the food is worth waiting for. And maybe the island time service adds a little authenticity to this restaurant.
