“Friendly staff, interesting little museum”

A surprisingly interesting bijou military museum at the beginning of the shopping area on the dock in Punta Gorda. Run by volunteers with some intriguing exhibits. Worth a visit if you're in the area. Free parking across the street.

Great place to get away from life and see nature up close. I recommend this place to any nature lover! The people that take care of this state land do a great job!

“beautifully primitive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2011

This is a spot you want to visit of you want to see FL as it was hundreds of years ago. You can hike for days, camp, bring a camera. The water foul, and native wild life is everywhere. Plan on spending hours, it is remote and very private if you are interested in a romantic outdoor experience, no one will ever see you :) wear sneakers, bring water and a cell would be a good idea. We will absolutely go back many times.

This is an excellent place 2 visit if u love the outdoors. They have hiking trails, biking trails, a campground & gun range on site! Its perfect for the outdoors enthusiast!! Dont forget 2 cast in a line while you're there. The 3 lakes on site are perfect for catching bluegill, & bass. No swimming though, the lakes are populated by alligators!! If you're ever in the area stop by & pay a visit.
