This was our second stay at Marriott's Oceana Palms this winter. The first time we stayed in the Sunrise tower (near the ocean) and the second time we stayed in the Sunset tower (near the road) and I can honestly say they were both very nice locations with great views. The manager was kind enough to show us the difference before we checked in as we really wanted the Sunrise tower again on our second visit. I can't remember his name, but he was so kind and thoughtful that it made the beginning of a great week.

Although Marriott has only a tiny footprint at this location the pool, bar, whirlpools where very nice but a bit crowded for our liking. (Marriott---grab that empty lot south of the Oceana Palms!) At near full occupancy it was too loud and crazy by the pool and we have kids! I have to agree with other reviewers that the music played all day long (Loud) at the pool was annoying if you just wanted to relax. As always, the Marriott has a great kids club with so many activities that are run extremely well. The night time entertainment was great with the outdoor movies, singers at the restaurant and games for all. One suggestiong would be to have the annoucer for the pool side games etc move towards the north end of the pool and keep the south end as a "quiet zone" if that is possible in such a small space.

We rented bikes (so reasonable!) and road to the state park just down the street which was fabulous! Beautiful views of the ocean with a completely empty beach. A great place to relax, bird watch, walk on the beach etc.

Michael, Nicole and LaToya at the front desk were more than accomodating on any request that we had during our stay. Really....outstanding employees!! The maintenance guy brought us an extra lounge chair to our deck and was so kind---he wouldn't even take a tip from us! He said no...it's part of my job! Seriously....that guy rocks!

Going north of off Singer Island there are all sorts of grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, and golf. Riveria BEach has done a nice job of cleaning up Blue Heron Blvd. closer to Singer Island---but it has a ways to go before i would say it has completely finished. We had dinner at the Riveria Beach Marina and loved that tucked away place! Nothing fancy---but a great place to people watch and check out the boats.

We wll be back to the Oceana Palms!

Room Tip: Facing south on a higher floor on either tower! The sunset views from the Sunset Tower are outstand...

I've been to many Marriott hotels since I get employee discounts but this one by far exceeded expectation. Such great service and great amenities. The young lady at check in was sooo nice (Her name was Nicole & it was her birthday!). I will definitely be staying here again, hopefully for more than one day.

The location is great for beach access! The low side is the size of the grounds. Very small footprint, but Marriott's did a great job with the small amount of space. We had a room facing south in the front tower and would recommend that same view. The back tower has an ocean view, but the view is mostly of the channel. The front tower rooms have aged well, but are showing a little tattered. This resort is very popular for families with kids. We don't have little kids, but this Marriott location looked to have a lot to offer for families. Not so much for couples looking for a romantic getaway.
Service from everyone was great (top notch). Fast elevators with little wait time. Very tight parking garage.
Onsite food is good, but not much of a selection. Must drive 5 to 15 minutes for most restaurants.

Room Tip: South facing avoids condo tower on north side for back tower. Front tower either side works. Not d...

The facility is beautiful. Condos are spacious and decorated nicely. What is most annoying is the music that is loudly played at the pool and then also in the evening when trying to sit and relax to enjoy a drink on the patio. Not a good way to end the day.

This resort has it all. The room was spacious, clean, and well stocked with all the necessities for cooking at the condo. There were ample things to do onsite, but I didn't feel they were overwhelming. The staff was amazing and always friendly. We would return here in a heartbeat!

My husband and I are 'pre-construction owners' at this resort, and we first visited when we spent a week at Ocean Pointe, which is a short walk away on the same beach as this resort. Oceana Palms appealed to us as we were looking for a 'jewel' to add to our MVC weeks and we loved the location as well as the layout of the condos. We have stayed here since the opening and this was our fifth year coming to Oceana Palms.

This resort always shows a few changes from year to year but overall the excellent location, upscale surroundings and excellent service have not changed and with the second tower finally in place this resort is really coming into it's own. I'd like to give a shoutout to Ana who works in the Marketplace and overall to all Marketplace employees and Reflections Grill employees - they are the current standout at this resort.

What did I like the most this year? The changes to the Marketplace (tables inside to eat at) and the menu additions at Reflections Grill - especially the hummus and pita bread with olives. Also, there are now special beer and wine tasting evenings and a sushi chef on Thursdays which adds more excitement to evenings here. Also, I spend most of my time here at the pool which is one of the loveliest anywhere, hands down. Walks on the beach are nice as well.

What could I do with less of? I'm someone who likes to sit by the pool and read, swim, snack, read, swim, go to the hot tub and that's about it. The pool seems to have an endless series of morning exercise, trivia games, etc. all broadcast via microphone which makes it a bit like the first scenes of 'Dirty Dancing'. So, I could do with more quiet to be honest. Also, the salespeople are still never ending - walking people through the pool area during the most crowded times, rushing clients into the elevator without holding the door for the guest (me) patiently standing there waiting for the elevator to arrive, and smoking just outside the back hot tub by the gate to the point that you have to leave the area to get away from the smoke (I thought that all Marriott's were completely smoke free).

Still, I look forward to my week here every year. I recommend this resort for a beach and pool lover!

Room Tip: We always request Building 1 which is closer to the pool and beach, and a southern exposure as well...

We spent a weeks vacation here in an ocean front 2 bedroom condo. Be aware this is a member of the Marriott branded timeshares and there is sales staff onsite but they were not obnoxious in trying to get us to take a tour.

The hotel has 2 towers, sunrise and sunset. Sunrise tower is the older, first tower and is closest to the beach. In the sunrise tower you'll find the registration desk/lobby, a convenience store, childrens activity center, reflections bar/grill and it's closest to the pools/hot tubs. The sunset building is set back and has all ocean side units. The sunset building has the fitness center, the Den (kids video game room) and the Studio for fitness classes.

All rooms are two bedroom suites with a full kitchen, living room, 2 bathrooms, two bedrooms and a HUGE balcony with a patio table. These rooms are set up as condo units and are very large. The master bath does not have a bathtub but has a huge shower that's more like a car wash with 4 shower heads to wash you off. The master bath has duel vanitiies for a couple. The second bedroom has 2 queen size beds and a seperate bath with shower/tub combo.

The pool deck has two smallish pools. One has a childrens splash area with zero entry. The second poll has one side that acts as a lap pool with two lanes. There are two hot tubs, one which is smallish and another larger free form hot tub. There is limited lounge seating around the pool but the resort is located right on the beach. Strap beach chairs are available for free to guests or you can choose to rent a cabana from Beachside Beach services.

The resort also has several gas grills if you're into grilling your own food while on vacation. There are picnic tables available if you want to maybe cook burgers and hot dogs and eat out.

Overall this is a great beach front resort perfect for couples or families who want a south Florida beach vacation.

Room Tip: Center ocean front units on floors 7, 10, 14, 17 and 20 have extended balconies that are larger than...
