We spent 2 nigths in the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa Hotel and liked our stay there. There we could spend our time swimminig in 3 wonderful pools and enjoing the view of the Tampa Bay. The service staff was very friendly to us. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very spacious. If we ever visit Tampa in the future, we would definitely choose this hotel again. Thanks.

We stayed one night pre - Cruise in April. Our ground - floor room at the end of the hall in the Olympic Tower was spacious, clean and relatively quiet. Lighting in the room was terrible unless drapes were opened (not a great option at ground level adjacent to a cart and pedestrian path!) Perhaps if the ceiling fan and light fixture therein had been functional lighting would have been better.

The route to the room was curiously difficult from the parking area in front of the resort through hotel administrative offices (Human Resources), left up a long upward hallway to an elevator then down (that's right-DOWN) one level to another long hallway leading to the room. (Whew!) Lugging bags coming and going was a real chore.

The absence of a safe in the room required that we hide valuables in the trunk of the rental car (not a smart thing to do but better than just leaving them in this edge of the property ground level room.)

While we did not intend to spend any time at the pool due to our mid - afternoon arrival, we stopped by briefly for a drink and discovered the resort sells "memberships" to the public. Members were there in full force on this beautiful Saturday afternoon and were well into the party spirit. We moved inside to the bar where we met Bob, the bartender, who proved to be the highlight of our stay.

We didn't visit the restaraunt, choosing instead to drive over to Columbia on Sand Key for dinner(highly recommended), and had breakfast at a little place on Main St. a few blocks from the resort.

All in all, an adequate though sometimes perplexing stay but the Bollywood festivities in Tampa shut us out of our usual Channelside and Westshore hotels. Will book earlier next time.

Experienced one of the best weekend getaways EVER! Beautiful Hotel & grounds. The Spa service was amazing! Michelle T. & Barbara J, the best! I was so drawn to the village town atmosphere walking and checking out all the quaint places to eat & drink. *_* So much fun! Can't wait to go again!!

Room Tip: 4th floor..bay view....the perfect sunrise view ever!

Anyone can go to a nice hotel and get spa amenities, but Safety Harbor is a destination resort like no other. It offers history and high end accommodations on Tampa Bay along with a full service spa experience. Is there any other resort that provides three pools and two hot tubs supplied by spring water from their onsite springs? Totally unique! Even their coolers on each floor provide drinking water from those same springs--discovered by Hernando de Soto almost 500 years ago.

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. Our room was very clear with the most comfortable beds and the view from our hotel balcony was priceless. We saw manatees and dolphins each day from the nearby pier.

Everyone in the spa was helpful and attentive. The massage and facial my friend and I got there were among the best we have ever experienced. Vicki, who has worked there as an aesthetician for 38 years, even gave us a tour of the entire spa floor. And they provide a sauna, steam room, plunge pool, lounges, showers, and lockers plus lots more services than we had time for.

We only ate breakfast at the restaurant as we wanted to explore the surrounding village also. I can say that the eggs Benedict were amazing. We did sit at the front patio each night enjoying drinks and live music under the stars--not too loud and very relaxing. We also sat by the pool in the afternoons. The only negative was trying to get a drink at the tiki bar. The bartenders were not very attentive. I can say that once you do get served, their bloody Mary is presented beautifully and is a delicious drink!

All in all, it was an incredible weekend!

Think warm balmy breezes on a palm-shaded patio overlooking Tampa Bay. You have just enjoyed a hot stone massage and facial (ask for Kelly). Is it too much effort to stroll to the tiki bar and order a martini? It is not. Carry that martini back to your private patio and sip it while you check out the room service menu, because it really IS too much effort to dress for dinner. Order the wild salmon and asparagus, and perhaps a bottle of dry white? Why not? Dine outside, listening to sailboat riggings rustle like wind chimes. Sleep soundly in the amazingly comfortable bed, and dream of staying in this place for at least a month.

Room Tip: Ground-floor pavilion (room 102) was sheer heaven.

A group of us went to the spa for a ladies SPA day trip. We did not stay in the hotel as we live locally. I will say I was very much pleasantly surprised by the size and the available amenities provided by the SPA. It looks like they have been working on getting it "spruced up". I booked a pedicure and arrived early so I could take advantage of the amenities.

We did get some spectacular bloody mary's at the tikki bar!

Definitely will be going back.

I stayed here with my family for a high school reunion. It turned out to be a great choice. The rooms were basic but clean and the zircon worked. The spa facilities were indeed nice as well as the three pools on the grounds. The cute small safety harbor village offers many restaurant choices within walking distance.
