Like the title says, it is small, but great for kids. It is a national park, free, and you get to take a ferry to the island where the fort is located. We even got to see dolphins in the channel!

Nicely maintained, very interesting for adults *and* children (especially boys).

We love this Fort. It is a little ways south of St. Augustine. The fort is small. You can climb to the top and the history is really interesting. There is a boat ride from the park to island where the fort is located.

Took my 10 year old sister on the ferry across to the fort at the 3:30 time. We even got to see the cannons being fired. She loved it! She also loved climbing in the trees out front when you pull up and park. There is a nice nature trail that you can walk on too! Also, I suggest bringing a picnic lunch and having it prior to your ferry ride over. We both had a great time touring the fort and just enjoying the park.

I went, because of the high ratings here. And it was okay. It was a nice drive down the A1A. The rangers were helpful. The boatride was nice. And the tour only lasted 45 minutes.

But otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way for this stop. The history was nice. But not sure it's worth the drive.
