“Great Location!!!”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

Really enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Bayfront. This location is fantastic and just a few block to Old Town. The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are small but serviceable. I appreciated taht there was a refridgerator in the room. It seemed very clean and did not smell of mold. We left another hotel on the bayfront for that reason. I would stay there again the future.

Pet friendly, but no continental breakfast. From the street side, the hotel looks like a cute rendition of a Spanish villa, with views across the terrifyingly busy route to the waterfront walk. It has that and an incredibly good location near the old fortress going for it. The rest, not so much. Every square inch of the 'plaza' is dedicated to parking, so much so that larger trucks would have a hard time getting a spot. The room was cramped and tired, with no desk, but had a generously large handicap accessible bathroom that resembled a prison cell, with a tiny window opening onto the noisy pedestrian street behind it. The door into the room was a heavy wooden thing that was almost falling off one hinge, so I had to heft up on the handle to get it to open and close. Despite its excellent location, nice exterior decor and friendly staff, we're not planning on using this spot if we visit St. Augustine again.

Where do I even start? This is the most poorly ran hotel I have ever stayed in. I will definitely stick to Marriott from now on. Overall, the room was not very clean and you could tell the "housekeeping" done to it was poorly executed. To be specific, the housekeeping/room service was skipped the day after we arrived. For no real reason either. We reported that to the front desk and were told it would be reported to the manager. Not a peep from anyone the day after or for the remainder of our stay. One staff member told us that everyone (room service staff) left at 5pm...and on another day, we were told they leave by 3pm. Conflicting information and unacceptable (non)service in general. The carpet/bathroom floor were so dirty that the bottom of my feet were black after walking around inside the room our first night. Therefore, I wore my sandals inside the room anytime I got out of the bed. Linens didn't seem very fresh and definitely didn't get changed every time the room was actually serviced while we were gone. We specifically left the "don't change my sheets" sign OFF the bed because we wanted fresh linens. The clothes iron was old and had mineral deposits that would've ruined my shirt had I not checked. The microwave was super dirty and had what looked like old spaghetti sauce stains inside. The inside of the fridge leaked and wasn't really cold enough to keep perishable items in as they would probably be spoiled due to the lack of coolness. The phone inside the room didn't work. After reporting that to the front desk in person, nothing was done about it. Plumbing was poor. Sink/tub did not drain properly. Lots of stand-still water while showering (almost past ankles, gross). Parking on the premises sucks super bad because it's not clear whether or not an area is for parking or for driving through. This should be a 1 star hotel, not 2. Over-priced and staff is not very attentive whatsoever. Thumbs down. Stay somewhere else. Heck, pay extra and go all out, and stay at the Casa Monica. Now THAT is how all hotels should be! The only good thing I can say about this hotel is the location was good.

Room Tip: Rooms at the ends are quiet. The rooms located in the center are right by a bar that stays open all...

We booked this hotel because it was pet friendly & close to where my daughters wedding was being held, Big mistake the carpets were so dirty when my dog jumped up on the bed her paws were dirty, the bathroom was so small, when the room next door took a shower it sounded horrible, and just because its pet friendly it doesn't need to smell pet friendly, and the parking was a nightmare !!

We were traveling from Chicago to Daytona Beach and decided to stop in St. Augustine for a few hours never expecting to stay the night. As soon as we arrived we knew we were going to stay and chose this hotel for it's appearance and charm. Upon check-in we were given a complimentary gift bag with two bottles of water and chips which was a really nice touch. The hotel is conveniently located and our room was very comfortable. The bathroom was really small and there was no free breakfast but there is a little restaurant located at the hotel where we had a nice breakfast at a reasonable price. We absolutely fell in love with St. Augustine and plan to return to the area again for a longer stay.

Staying at this hotel was completely by chance. I found three hotels in the area but I thought staying on or near the water would be the best. We loved the location and would very much enjoy returning for a longer stay. The hotel reception was most accommodating and the comfort of the room was worth the dollars spent. The location of this hotel to Saint Augustine made easy walking for the two of us.
