“Long weekend in St. Augustine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

Well, our weekend stay at Old Powder House Inn was won I will not forget anytime soon. My husband and I decided to take a long weekend and stay at this B&B and on my what a great choice. If you are like me and love the the Victorian Era this is the place for you. This inn is charming, cozy, and most of all friendly. I felt like part of Bob and Suzanne's family. What a couple they went out of their way to make our stay everything it was. The food the attention and the staff were awesome. It was a very relaxing weekend which my husband I needed. Our room was Victoria Rose and it was as Victorian as it can get. The room was immaculate and every attention to details in the room was very well thought out. I loved it so much that I am returning in July but this time with my daughter for a girl's weekend. This was a wonderful pleace to stay and when ever I am in St. Augustine this will be the only B&B will stay in.

Room Tip: Victoria Rose room is on the first floor and has a deep soaking tub. The porch is right as soon as y...

This inn is beautiful inside and out. There were many thoughtful touches throughout our stay. The innkeepers were so nice and accommodating. Breakfast was spectacular. We were centrally located and able to walk around to attractions and shops but still have quiet at night. Wonderful stay. We would absolutely return if we are ever in the area again.

Our 2 night 3 day stay at the Old Powder House Inn on Cordova St. in St. Augustine could not have been better. We were celebrating our 55th Anniversary and the Powder House was a perfect place to stay. There were 4 of us staying in 2 rooms, two on the first floor the other two on the second floor. Both rooms were excellent. Breakfast was far better then we ever would have expected, in fact I would rate it superior to all other B&B's we have stayed at in the USA and throughout Europe. The owners, Bob & Suzanne went out of their way to make our stay fantastic. Things like free wine and sherry served every late afternoon and evening was a pleasant surprise. Then there was live music with wine and snacks in the courtyard during late afternoon plus hot popcorn and warm cookies topped our evening card game. Everything was done for us by the owners with a pleasant smile. They offered several dining recommendations and discount trolley tickets. I'm looking forward to our next visit to this Inn. By the way the location is perfect and convenient with free on site parking.

Room Tip: We preferred the first floor room (Splendid) with a large porch. It is a tad bit small but the conv...

This was our first trip to St Augustine and we really enjoyed it. The Inn was very nice. The hosts very helpful, breakfasts were awesome.. Room very nice. We were in the Memories room, liked it all. Upon arrival he sat with us and explained the area, where good restaurants were, etc... very nice.

We have stayed in various places in St Augustine and do like to mix it up, we even have our own beach condo. On this long weekend we stayed in the Memories Room. Very good sized room and the bed was really comfortable. The owners are great, very welcoming and we enjoyed chatting with them every morning over breakfast. And with the other guests too! Breakfasts were lovely, never ending coffee and juice. My favorite was the muffins, especially with the glaze! The location can't be beaten, walking distance to everything as right in the heart of the old town. Will definitely be returning!

Absolutely love this B&B and it's innkeepers!Staying here is like stepping into a tale as old as time.... We spend one night in the Queen Ann Room and had a truly unforgettable experience! I recommend this room to all of those looking for romance ... Its like sleeping in Mr. Darcy's house!
The attention to detail is incredible and just so beautiful! You will not regret staying here.. Unless you are scared of ghosts! We definitely had that six sense experience here!
If you are planning on visiting our nations oldest city, you have to stay here - the old powder house will take you back in time!!!

We spent a weekend at the Old Powder House Inn for a wedding and had a nice time. It was a terrific location as the wedding was in the historic district. The innkeeper is very friendly and gave us wonderful recommendations for food and entertainment during our limited stay. They serve a wonderful breakfast in their dining room. It would be nice to have a little more space between tables as it was a tight fit with five couples all eating at the same time. But, we did get to meet some friendly people in those circumstances. My only real complaint was how the staff responded to a need we had to have our last breakfast outside of the community area. My husband had been stricken with a horrible stomach virus overnight and needed to eat. I didn't believe he should be in the tight breakfast area with other people. However, the staff informed us that no food could be taken into the rooms- inn policy. We ended up negotiating our way into eating breakfast on a chilly morning on the porch. The owners were not there and I think the staff felt unable to make special arrangements.
