The rooms were comfortable, the innkeepers were so helpful and the food was delicious! The location was within walking distance of good restaurants and St. George Street. We highly recommend the Sheriff's Ghost Tour.

Our fourth visit to the Old Powder House Inn. Obviously we have come back because we love it there. Great location in the middle of everything you can walk to all the attractions, restaurants, shops and bars. The best breakfast in the WORLD!!! Bob and Suzanne are the best hosts you can meet. We are already booking our next visit. Need I say more? :-)

Room Tip: They are all good, we want to try them all... Breakfast creations are amazing, you'll want Bob...

Rooms were immaculately clean and comfortable. Lovely decor and each room is totally different in size and layout. This is not a place for children - which is great!

Breakfasts we're exactly at 9am and innkeepers will accommodate special dietary restrictions as long as they have prior notice. Meals were creative and delicious with fresh fruit, muffins, entree, juice and coffee/tea, something different every day. Home baked muffins and cookies were fabulous (and I don't normally eat sweets)! Chatted with many interesting people from all over during breakfast. It is nice to see what others have to say about dining and attractions. Innkeepers Bob and Suzanne were very hospitable and accommodating. Doing a great job for the small amount of time they have been in the biz. Sorry we did not get to see the ghost child who sometimes visits the "Memories" room. Water, coffee, tea, sherry and wine are available in the parlor all day. Doors are locked at 5 and you must use a key to get in - which is more secure. There are a lot of reading materials and an occasional puzzle to work for those rainy days. TVs in the rooms have been or are being updated. Never turned ours on and did not miss it. Parking is limited and tight behind the house so it is best to bring just one vehicle per guest - especially when they are fully booked. Paid parking is available a half block away.

Most everything is within walking distance. While there are trolleys, segways and carriages, the pedicabs are a wonderful way to get around very inexpensively if you can't do a lot of walking or have too much too carry back from your shopping excursions. St. Augustine is not a very handicap friendly place to get around - very few ramps, uneven sidewalks, stairs, etc. There are many restaurants with a wide variety of foods, entertainment and ambiance - most within walking distance.

Room Tip: Memories is largest with a jacuzzi tub on one side of room and stand up shower in bath. One room op...

First of all, I want to send a huge thank you to Suzanne for accommodating us on such short notice!

I blindly called and they had a room and we booked it right over the phone. And we were not disappointed! We stayed in the Grace Darling room and it was everything we wanted and more. The room and bathroom were very clean. The room even came with a Jacuzzi tub! The bed was unbelievably comfortable. We came home and definitely noticed a difference between our bed and theirs!

We had our own private entrannce that did not connect to any other parts of the house. Perfect for a couple who would like and appreciate quiet and privacy. However, we did receive a key to have access to the parlor, verandah, and patio areas. The house is stunning. We drove up and we were so excited we were at the right place!

Oh and the breakfast was so good! We actually woke up to the smell of the food cooking...best wake up call ever! :)

Bob and Suzanne are absolute all-stars! They are the reason why so many people appreciate b and bs. They were so joyful and we wish that we could of stayed longer because their hospitality is addicting! Thank you for a great stay!!! We will be back. :)

My husband and I had never stayed at a B&B before visiting St. Augustine. Since staying at the Old Powder House Inn, we are now hooked! The owners, Bob & Suzanne, are friendly and welcoming hosts who made our experience all the more fun. Our room was the Miranda Room which is upstairs and somewhat secluded from the rest of the rooms. It was bright and cheery and above all, very clean. The breakfast both days was delicious! Because the B&B is located in the heart of the historic district, we were able to park our car at the inn and walk everywhere the entire time. It's close to EVERYTHING which makes it nice because you can literally park your car and never use it until you check out. Needless to say, me and my husband will definitely stay at the Old Powder House Inn next time we are in town. LOVE it!

We enjoyed our first wedding anniversary here and spent 3 nights at Old Powder House under new ownership. Our host Bob (Suzanne was out of town) did an outstanding job of greeting us and making us right at home with no pressure, no rules! We were interested in his and Suzanne's personal story, since they were new owners, and he shared openly. We sat with Bob and asked all sorts of questions about where to eat, tour etc, he pulled out a map and accommodated us, even down to where to get wine for our BYO restaurant the first evening, Catch 27. The Twisted Cork gave us a discount at the mention of Old Powder House. All of his recommendations were exact. Thanks Bob!

The room was spacious, exited to an upper porch with a swing, comfortable Queen Anne bed, and clean. I am a clean nut, so that's a big deal. The room was a little musty, with allergies I was concerned but after putting the AC on, it was ok.

Breakfast was varied each morning with fruit, juice, main entree, coffee and tea. We had access to complimentary Sherry and red wine each evening as well as fresh cookies around the clock.

We were with walking distance of everything, but what isn't in St. Augustine? Being in the center of town brings convenience but a bit of noise, if you're sensitive, then bring ear plugs. We were just aware, not bothered by it.

Free parking available in the back.

St Augustine is not or the single traveler, way too romantic and couples everywhere nuzzling!

Room Tip: Grab a sherry and swing on the porch!

My wife and I recently spent part of our Honeymoon trip at The Old Powder House Inn in St. Augustine, and I cannot say enough good things about it! From the moment we arrived, owners Bob and Suzanne treated us like old friends. A small bottle of congratulatory champagne awaited us in our room when we checked in to our comfortable, tastefully decorated, and immaculately clean room. The breakfasts were not the standard "fruit and cereal" fare, but different home cooked meals every day (Bob's Sweet potato, Apple, and Bacon hash was absolutely delicious and a real crowd-pleaser for all the other guests as well). The location was close to all the Old Town attractions, so getting from point A to point B was a breeze.
The small, personal touches are what set The Old Powder House Inn apart from other B&Bs we have stayed in. Bob and Suzanne positively doted on us to make sure every detail of our stay was perfect...and it was! Bob even broke out his harmonicas to sit in on an impromptu Blues/Folk jam session with us and a couple of the other guests one evening. The morning we checked out, Suzanne took the trouble to make us a "To Go" breakfast of coffee and fresh baked muffins. That was so thoughtful of them!

The Old Powder House Inn sets the standard by which other B&Bs should compare. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! We will return to St. Augustine in the future and won't dream of staying anywhere else.
