My sister and I were traveling from North Carolina to Delray Beach, Florida, and was using Saint Augustine as a mid-way stopping point. Waiting until the last minute to make hotel reservations we found ourselves at the Alexander Homestead more out of desperation than design. But, oh my, we could not have made a better mistake! We arrived in town early evening and it was cool and damp. Much to our delight we found a very lovely, period styled, home with a warm welcome from Bonnie. She was very helpful in giving us suggestions on where and what to see and eat. The B&B is just a few blocks from Old Town so we were able to comfortably walk around and enjoy ourselves before returning to our very beautifully decorated room. It as very, very comfortable and Bonnie had complimentary wine and brandy to enjoy at our leisure. Breakfast was exceptional yet very personal. It was like visiting with old friends yet we had just met. What a delightful place to stay and the location is fantastic.
