A fluke!, And wow what a find!
Patty , the inns proprietor, is a gracious host.
Breakfast in the morning was great and we met so many nice guest!
Small but glassy surf lots of fun.
I would bring bug incense or bug spray to be able to sit outside at night

Room Tip: Our room was on main level which included a outdoor bistro porch. The bathroom was the entry point...

I travel with my teenage daughter every year to St. Augustine. We have been going down there every year for five years now. A couple of years ago we found a wonderful B&B right on the beach! It has become my sanctuary! Every time we leave I start counting down the days until our next visit! Best place to stay in St. Augustine and the only place you can stay and walk right out of the house onto the beach!!

Room Tip: I like all the rooms!! Each room has its own theme and charm!! My favorite room is the Plum Room!

We stayed at the House of Sea and Sun after reading the many reviews. First and foremost it is definitely Pet Friendly. Our Boxer was allowed anywhere on the property and even sat with us at breakfast. If you are not a Pet Lover, beware because most people bring their pets and the owner has 3 herself.
Breakfast was good the first day but small is size. The second day was basically the same, eggs, potatoes and instead of a store bought bagel (Arnold) we got a store bought glazed donut! Usually bed and breakfast at $200/night give you more. Coffee was not made until 9 am but It was set up the night before so I could brew it when we got up which was around 6 am.
The owner and her friends were very friendly but sitting on the deck in the evening, we felt like we were intruding on their private company. I read some reviews saying their was a happy hour, but that was not the case when we stayed.
We had an upstairs suite overlooking the ocean but the window facing the ocean could not be open and the effect of the ocean waves could not be heard. The closeness to the beach was ideal.

Our stay at the House of Sea and Sun was everything a guest could ask for. Starting at the moment we opened the door and was greeted by it's owner Patty. We were so welcomed and cared for it was like going home again. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Perfect location and a well run ship. You should go.......

Room Tip: Very close to a beautiful beach. Right out the front door.....

Besides the warm and hospitable owner and staff, this is the place to bring your pet along to enjoy this charming atmosphere with you at the beach. There are pet friendly places to eat as well in this quaint first city town. Sunrise here is gorgeous and Sunsets on the Intracoastal are not to miss. Matanzas Inlet Restaurant and Salt Water Cowboys on Intracoastal are perfect for Sunset Dining. At twilight when the street lamps come on in town, be on a horse and carriage ride and travel back in time. Just walking around town you will find some great hidden jewels. Be it shops or restaurants or historic sites.
St Augustine is a magical place you should not miss. Sea And Sun is the perfect place to hang your beach hat and sandals in such a relaxing atmosphere. An experience out of the ordinary you will not forget and plan to be back again.

Room Tip: Oceanfront Suites on ground floor with French doors open to dunes leading 100 ft to beach are perfec...

We have stayed at the House of Sea and Sun on a number of occasions and we will continue to go back. Patty, Rae, and the other staff are a bundle of fun to hang out with. The location is to die for. The sunrises are amazing. Breakfast is made fresh and is delicious. On our most recent visit, we took the advice of the inn keeper Patty and headed south to visit Matanzas Inlet during low tide, the dog had a ball. We visited Washington Oaks state park for a beautiful hike as well.
That night we hung out in the main house, drank wine, ate cheese, and shared stories and life experiences with Patty and some of her friends and other guests. It was an awesome two day getaway and we will be back soon!
