“Great location but a little overpriced for quality”
Reviewed 8 September 2009

First off, the location of this hotel could not be better. It is walking distance to pretty much everything. Mainly, all the shops in the historic district and Castillo de San Marcos. It is facing the water which is also really nice. The rooms from the second floor must have a wonderful view. At first glance it has a very Motel-like appearance but it is actually quite nice. The rooms are updated and modern, free wi-fi is a plus. Ample and Free parking.
The beds were slightly uncomfortable and the sheets had little lint balls all over them making them feel old and thin. The A/C would not cool sufficiently, I even set it to 70 degrees and it felt like 80. The continental breakfast was not great either, but thats not a deal breaker for me. For the quality, this hotel should be priced lower.

I was so happy to see that we made a great choice when we checked into our hotel. Parking in downtown St. Augustine is a nightmare, so we were pleasantly surprised that we were so close to everything with free parking at the hotel. You'll be able to walk anywhere. The hotel exterior and interior are beautiful. Fully remodeled and very, very nice. My biggest rave is the comfortable beds.

This hotel has a lot of possibilities. Keep in mind right now they are working on the LIONS bridge and that does crimp the style of this hotel. The view when the work is not in progress is nice, but right now they are working on bridge and the construction makes for a messy drive to and from the area.

The rooms here are large, very. Yes it is an older hotel but it has been remodeled and it adds to its charm. The only thing I thought odd was every time we left room for any length of time the air conditioner seemed to have been adjusted. You know when you leave, you know when you are coming back, we walked to a restaurant for dinner, I adjusted the thermostat and came back and I swear it had been adjusted. Now, I am not sure who did this, I did have my Mom with me but I thought it odd, noticed it happened twice.

We popped in here after two weeks of Disney for a few days, wanted to catch the beach and visit Flagler College with daughter as a possibility of schools. It was great, we could walk easily to Flagler and various restaurants and shops. The breeze in the evening off the bay is nice. We sat on the observation deck a few times and watched the sun go down.

One of the positive things I would like to point out about this hotel is the parking. Many of the hotels do not have good parking slots, especially in the heart of St. Augustine, but its not a problem here. You don't have to pay for it either. Some of our old neighbors from Fleming Island wanted to meet up with us and have dinner , and the desk attendant said not a problem just make sure that their car is gone before 12:00 a:m.

The hotel is clean, rooms are large and the view normally from this hotel is nice. The price is decent, we really do love the over sized rooms. Our room had a desk tucked up in corner. Two queen size beds. The girls hopped in pool after a day at beach, and over all we would love to come back.

We were driving back home from our road trip when we decided to make another unplanned stop in St. Augustine. We drove around the historic district in search of a hotel. We called a few B&B's, but their prices were quite high. As we drove by this hotel, I called the front desk and the price could not be beat. When we checked in the lady at the front desk gave us a corner room, which are more spacious. She was extremely nice, giving us suggestions for food and attractions, which were all great. I was surprised by the rooms, very nice and clean. The bathrooms were beautiful with their fixtures that looked new. There is free Wi-Fi in all the rooms and a computer in the lobby in case you do not have your computer. There is a small continental breakfast that on our stay included cereal, oatmeal, toast, fruit, milk, coffee, and orange juice. The hotel was also in a great location where we walked everywhere. It was an overall great stay and I will definitely stay there again the next time we visit St. Augustine.

We stayed here in late June of 2009. We chose it for it's location near the historic district/St. George Street, and for the price ($132/night with AAA discount.) We have 2 children (8 and 6) and needed two beds, so B&Bs were not able to accomodate. We saw the pictures on their website and they were exact in person. We were very impressed. All 3 staff members we saw were friendly and always available to help or answer our questions. Also a computer in lobby for guest use. The room was clean and was nicely renovated. Bathroom was nice, with new faucets, sink, etc. Beds were comfortable and linens/blankets soft and clean. Continental breakfast was good. Coffee, oj, cereal, raisin bread, oatmeal with all the fixings - brown sugar and raisins, were all delicious. Close walk to the Ripley's Sightseeing Train depot at Bayfront put put. Walking distance to Charlotte street and St. George St. Pool was nice, not too big, great way to refresh and kids enjoyed. Great to be able to park for free and leave car for 2 days. Safe area. Other guests were polite and having a good vacation. A/C worked well. Couldn't hear other guests at night. This hotel was great for our needs - a place where a family of 4 could sleep and shower after a hot day of sightseeing! Will definately come back again when we return!

Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and nicely appointed. Location is unbeatble for access to the Historic District, Marina and bridge to the beaches. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The only disappointment was the continental breakfast, very limited choices and weak flavorless coffee. Still a great value and we will definitely check Bayfront Inn first next time we visit St. Augustine.

We stayed here 2 nights this week, at the same time as the previous poster. For the same 2 nights we were there, there was a group of about 15 bikers who set up a bar outside their rooms (one located right next to ours) and proceeded to party until about midnight each night. Sleeping was impossible without earplugs and Ambien. Had we known they would be there, we would have booked elsewhere. Management should have handled the situation. The location is great, right across from the marina and just a short walk to the historic district. The Santa Maria Restaurant directly across the street was a great place to have a drink and watch the boats and sunset. A1A Aleworks is about 1/2 block away. We knew not to expect a breakfast per se, but were pleasantly surprised that instead of the packaged muffins we were expecting, we found juice, cereal, hot cooked oatmeal, yogurt, apples, and a nice cinnamon raisin bread for toasting. Coffee and tea of course. No muffins at all! We did walk over to The Bunnery one morning and bought some awesome cinnamon rolls and sticky buns, both still warm. And a USA Today was available by the lobby door (maybe the previous poster didn't notice it there?). Our room was on the ground floor of the Rodriquez House, and I wish I had specified second floor. It was small, but very nicely furnished (one king bed). We could hear the springs in the mattress, so it needs to be replaced. Very nice toiletries - scented lotion, body wash and shampoo. Shower cap, Q tips and cotton balls were a nice touch. Had major trouble accessing their Wi-fi in the room, front desk wasn't much help. Great to have parking available and be able to walk everywhere.
