I should first point out that the Ponce de Leon Mall is, sadly, like many interior malls these days in that there are a lot of empty store locations. During my visit the offerings consisted of Belks, JC Penny, Sears, GNC, Hallmark, a Florist, a Sewing Shop, an "Event Room", a church, a community theatre (of the stage not film variety), and a Latin Counter Service Restaurant. The remainder of the stores were all currently up for lease. What made this mall stick out for me as compared to other malls that appear to be facing "hard times" was that the interior was extremely clean and every one of the employees I encountered were super friendly and helpful. Sadly, I have noticed in my travels that some malls of this type look old, run down, and used up. This is not the case at the Ponce de Leon Mall. The exterior of the building shows its age, but the interior was kept virtually spotless. Although I could not recommend this mall for hours upon hours of shopping, if you are looking for something from one of the above mentioned stores, and you are in St. Augustine, then I would highly recommend stopping by the Ponce de Leon Mall.
