Played South Hampton in mid September and course was in great condition. God greens, tidy tee boxes and nice surroundings.

Can not disagree more with review by Gary D. Think someone just hada bad day that clouded judgement overall.

The course cannot be labeled boring. Some nice holes. Played off back tees and some holes require good course management. Lots of houses which I know annoy some, but generally a course which is pleasing on the eye.

Pace of play was fine, but our round was in the afternoon and off peak season so didn't test fully. We were in a 3 ball which took under 4 hours total.

Bar lady was excellent and went out of way to help.

Excellent value, especially with quality of some other courses nearby which claim a lot and deliver little. I would happily play again.

Thank Gary M

Excellent layout with 5 tee areas. Lots of sand around the greens and the course shape was very good. Greens were a little hard and did not hold high lofted shots well. Rough was thick. Pace of play was excellent and the twilight rate was fair.

Our round took almost 6 hours to complete. The Ranger told us that there was an outing ahead of us and mentioned that we would likely not finish before dark. Of course, no refund was offered and there was no mention of an outing when we booked the tee time. We also had lunch at the clubhouse before our round. We ordered our food and gave the waitress/bartender a tip. One guy in our group picked up a menu and noticed that all orders are automatically assessed a 20% tip. We spoke to Derrick, one of the owners, to complain about the charge and to highlight that this is not posted anywhere except for within the menu. He defended the practice as a way for him to keep employees. The golf course is boring and slow and the 20% surcharge is ridiculous.

Like the course, but plan on five hours, with lots of waiting at the tee box, as the pace of play is very slow. No active management by course advisors to move players along.
