Very convenient location. Great laid back atmosphere at restaurant and bar. Motel is quaint and nostalgic. Staff at motel very helpful with tips for visiting historic district and dining. Don't expect luxury...big on Caribbean like atmosphere.

The place is quaint and quiet (except on Sundays when there's reggae fest). We had no problem checking in and getting into our room. Being built in the 40s it's not the most up-to-date place but it's was cozy and nice for our honeymoon retreat. The Red Train Tours provides a shuttle into town. The grounds were nice and well kept and we were definitely not short on towels (they seemed to bring fresh ones every day). The bathroom was tiny, and the towel bar decided to fall on the first day and never stayed up, so that made things a bit trickier. Since we ate out a lot it didn't matter, but the large burner did not work so we only had 3 very small burners to work with if we'd wanted to cook a full blown meal (and with only 2 pots- one of which looked dirty- and 1 pan) we were limited in our options there. The door didn't close very well without slamming it and we left it cracked part of one night after we'd come in exhausted from a day on the town and just pushed it closed and then fell asleep for a few hours. Luckily, the town is quiet and no one came snooping. Biggest pet peeve was the switches were either in really annoying places or didn't function at all. I like being able to turn on the light before i walk into a room. Otherwise, the bed was comfy, the water got plenty hot, and we had enough space for 2 of us to be comfortable for our short stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 16 off of the South Parking Lot. It's not near the pool or bar or anything so...

This place was a great find! Yes the rooms are older, but this is St.Augustine...everything is old. Our room seemed to actually have been updated fairly recently and was perfect for the two of us. The location and environment of the whole place is really what made it for us though. It is located just outside of the historic district, so you don't have to deal with the hectic tourist environment and higher room prices of the downtown area. The whole place has a very unique, getaway feel. Restaurant and bar on site with good food and drinks, and great views and relaxing feel. We will be back for sure!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 10, the furniture and accessories seemed to be recently updated. Not sure about t...

Everything is soooooo miserable!
Big room where everything is soooo old and outdated, broken blinds, old 70's furniture, and dark.
Too much expensive. I can't believe we payed so much money for such a bad accommodation!

Stayed there to meet up with some friends and room was a joke for the rate we paid, totally overpriced. Shower was TINY and appeared dirty. Furniture old and outdated and might I add "sticky". Never got a clean feeling and felt we were ripped off as far as paying 2014 prices for a 1974 style room. Office staff not accommodating. There are other "motels" in St. Augustine that are nicer I would hardly call this a resort.

Worst Room ever!! For $150. plus tax. ($165) You think you get an ok room but absolutely not. Buyer beware! They tried to dress it up with a somewhat new couch and brown paint but the rest is absolutely disgusting. Bent up blinds (missing wand), no privacy!! My friend actually saw a naked man sitting on couch next door. Boarded up doors in living area and in bedroom and random broken things, probably broken back in the 1930's. Kitchen area absolutely aged and disgusting, kept something's in frig. but was afraid of bugs. Shower was so small, dark, dingy, no pressure and temperature control issue. Bedspread from 1970's, was dirty and smelled and the rest of the bedding was disgusting, stain on wall in hallway, missing baseboard on wall. Looked like it maybe had flooded years ago. Staff was rude, inexperienced and incompetent and just didn't do what they said they would do. Pool is a small circle, like a kiddy pool you would see in a park. Eat there perhaps and go to Sleep Inn down the road, if need be but so many nice places in St. Augustine, this one gives St. Augustine a bad name. Ruined our trip! I wish I had photos!

This was truly one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in. I had eaten in the restaurant many times on vacation which is good, but usually stayed in a nice B&B in town. I was in St. Augustine for business this time, and thought it would be a good place to stay for a one night visit, not far from the historic district. Room number 8... one dark bulb, old tacky furniture, dirty floors, a suspect mattress, bed cover grimy looking, faucet loose, no dead bolt on door, a shower so filthy looking I skipped it. O, you can't park near the room. Very rainy weekend, and had to trek across a totally flooded parking lot. Fortunately I was there for only one night. Maybe other rooms have been taken care of better.... will not be back.......

Room Tip: If you go, ask to see rooms. There might be some better ones than the one I was given.
