So many great things about this inn...where to begin? We are frequent travelers, experimenting with different types of lodging and this is one of my favorites. Cozier than a hotel but less intrusive than a B&B. We stayed in a very large tastefully decorated room (#31), with a view of the old City Gates, the Fort and the water from our balcony. From our windows and the walkway outside the entrance to our room, we overlooked the charming courtyard.

Breakfast was lovely. We enjoyed fresh-baked goodies, cheese, yogurt and coffee, which we could carry back to our room or out to the courtyard. We are very social travelers and enjoy getting to know our hosts and making friends with fellow travelers, but we appreciated not having to clean up for breakfast and conversation with strangers, as we would have at a B&B.

Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, toting our large number of bags upstairs to the 2nd floor room and making great recommendations for dinner. We were in town for a conference at the World Golf Resort and were SO very grateful for the opportunity to relax at the St. George before rejoining the corporate world.

We just returned after staying 8 days at this wonderful inn. Could have not picked a better choice. Stayed in the Balcony room with a wrapt around balcony overlooking the park. Enjoyed the balcony at night sipping sherry and just watching the world go bye.

The Inn we found to be very clean and had no problems, the staff at this inn were great and could not be more helpful in attending the needs of there guest. Meet the chef who I thought was a take off of Mario Batali except this chef wears socks.

The breakfast was a good way to start the day off. Every day had a different menue and coffee , tea was available all day. The inn also served a cocktail hour every day for the guest as well as dessert s.

The inn is withing walking distance to St george street main areas .Being a jogger I loved exploring the various neighborhoods near the inn.

The last day we found a small French bistro called Donella on Aviles St. Wished we found this place earlier.

Overhaul we had a great time and wished the visit did not end. Looking forward to our next trip at the inn.

I loved this hotel, I stayed in room 16, Balcony's front and back, The courtyard was GREAT. I spent a lot of time on the balcony over looking the courtyard from which I could see the bay and fort, The people ruining the hotel could not have been nicer. And even thought I am handicapped I did not find the parking to be a problem at all.

My spouse and I had heard favourable things about St Augustine and decided to make it one of our stops while visiting Florida. We read great reviews about the St George Inn and thought that it sounded like a nice place to stay. We were glad to have chosen it!
Check in/out is friendly and pleasant, although you have to pause your car on the street to offload your luggage, check in and get the parking pass for the covered multi-level lot a couple of streets away. There is no on-site parking, but this seems to be the case for all the hotels in the area. It isn’t an issue, as you are basically on foot or on the tourist train while in that quarter; if you want to visit elsewhere, your car is always available and there was ample parking (early October) in the lot.
The hotel is situated in the historic area and when you step outside, you are in a charming, lovely courtyard.
There are different types of rooms on offer: ours was on the third floor facing the street, which had some early morning traffic noise. Aside from that, it was very quiet. The room was lovely, large and well-decorated, very clean, with a comfortable king-size bed. The air-conditioner was remote-controlled. There was a mini-refrigerator and coffee and tea-making tray.
The bathroom was huge, with a walk-in shower: the level of the shower floor was higher than the bathroom floor, with a sloping entrance – if the curtain wasn’t completely against the wall, water ran out of the shower onto the floor. Adjusting the angle of the shower head rectified that problem. Oddly, there was no area in the shower in which to store soap and shampoo, but there was a little footstool! The toiletries were excellent quality, and the towels were good and plentiful.
Complimentary continental breakfast was satisfactory, with cheese, an assortment of fresh bagels and other freshly-baked items and the coffee was good.. The only downside of the breakfast is that, owing to space restrictions in the hotel lobby area, you eat outside at the tables set up in the courtyard, which is fine in October but must be brutally unpleasant during the heat and humidity of the summer, or if it rains. Breakfast entertainment is provided by lizards of all size scampering throughout the greenery.
The St George Inn is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed for charm, amenities, location, cost, and staff and I recommend it if you’re planning on visiting St Augustine.

Family stop-over en route from South Carolina to Orlando. St Augustine is not to everyone's taste - like staying in a small theme park. Inn is like a boutique B& B. Small reception with friendly staff; parking is in multi-storey a few 100 yds away. Rooms are motel style in buildings attached behind with two stories. We were in top floor attic style with view towards fort. Comfortable beds, air-con and fridge. Large & roomy. Access is via communal stairs. Security not a concern but access is potentially open to all. Breakfast was in a basket but quite adequate; fresh cakes, croissants and juices. Accommodation for our rooms were above a sweet shop and ice cream parlour. Location of Inn is good if you are intending to walk around and explore the town.

If you are thinking of staying in St Augustine, we noted quite a few boutique bed and breakfasts in the neighbouring streets. Suggest you research but would recommend as much better than the motel chains which abound on the edge of the town.

We stayed at the St. George Inn for a few days in October. This place was so unique and relaxing. We stayed in a Pinta room with a view of the City Gate. The Inn is definately the most convenient place to stay if you want to explore the old city. It was extremely clean and the balcony was nice. I would definately recommend getting a room with a balcony even if it is an extra expense. All the employees were extremely friendly and helpful. I thought the free breakfast was adequate. It contained bagels, croissants, different flavors of breakfast breads and granola bars. It was nice to sit out in the courtyard and eat breakfast each morning. Don't miss a trip to the lighthouse, fort and a carriage ride during your visit. If you are undecided on a place to stay, pick this place and you won't be dissappointed.

This was a great place all the way around. The location was the best for anything we wanted to do; we could either walk there or take one of the trolley/trains that picked up right there. My room was very clean and spacious and the bed was so comfortable. I loved my balcony overlooking St. George Street and being able to watch the sun rise over the fort in the morning. The staff is one of the best things about this hotel; they are so friendly and willing to help with anything you may need. When we go back to St. Augustine, we will be staying there again!
