“A bit of history”

We stopped at camachee inn for 2 nights so we could explore st augustine. We had a lovely room for the 2 of us with every thing we needed ( apart from a kettle) we over looked the harbour and decided which boat to buy if we won the lottery.
It is definitely not a traditional B and B but the breakfast at the cafe was lovely and fresh .
It was handy for getting to old st augustine but far enough away to be quiet.
The receptionists were efficient and polite.
We would return if ever in the area again.

Room Tip: Room 22 has a 4 poster bed overlooking the harbour

My hustand & I are very disappointed with the accommodations as well as the attitude of the help. Stopped here on our way home from FL because we had a Bed and Breakfast.com gift card. This place is nothing more than a motel and should not be categorized as a "B&B". There are no B&B amenities available. In fact, there is a sign in the room where they are calling the rooms "condos" & they are advertising them for sale. For breakfast, we were given a ticket which gave us a choice of 4 of the cheapest breakfasts available at the luncheonette in the strip mall across the parking lot from the room. We were charged $159.50 but when we checked out we were given a receipt for $139.50. The receptionist gave us some gibberish about B&B.com only giving them $80.00 credit on the $100.00 gift card and she mumbled someting about the Inn gave us a discount. In the end, they kept the $100.00 gift card and charged me $59.50 on my AMEX. Do you think there is something fraudulent going on here? We were very disgusted with the whole experience. My son gave us the B&B gift card for Christmas and we feel that we wasted our gift. In future, we will have nothing to do with Bed and Breakfast.com or The Inn at Camachee Harbor.

Only complaint would be the vertical blinds. They kept falling off the track.
The free breakfast was the best ever. Everything was cooked to order. You can
skip the Kingfish Grill and find a better restaurant anywhere else. The service
was slow or not available. The noise was unbearable, as was the crowded
conditions. The drinks were terrible. Even when we sent them back, the next
drinks were no better. The food was heavily breaded and still half cooked. It
looked like they couldn't get the food to the customers in a satisfactory time
period. We will be back just not to the Kingfish Grill. Everything else was well
worth it!!

Room Tip: Get one that is up-stairs with a view

If you're looking for a piece of Old Florida with beautiful views, this is the place. Very laid back vibe and friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable and suitable for kids and dogs. We have stayed at this location two times and the staff is super accommodating and our rooms have been very clean both times, even with it being a dog friendly hotel. We have stayed in rooms 25 and 29 and both had great views and comfortable (not fancy) furnishings. We enjoyed our breakfast at Fish Tales and also visited Kingfish Grill for dinner and had great sushi and the grouper fish special - excellent and a great value. We will be back!

Room Tip: 25 has two balcony's with views from both. Room 29 has a full kitchen, living room, dining room...

I happened to find this great litle place on the internet. My husband and I stayed there the weekend of February 7th and we will definitely tell our friends and will make a return trip. The weather wasn't the greatest that weekend but we found plenty to do in St. Augustine. The hotel offers a free hot breakfast for two each morning of your stay-what a great bonus!
This hotel happens to be located on a marina which made our view beautiful!

Room Tip: We had room 20 and it was wonderful with a wrap around balcony so we had a wonderful view of the ent...

We have stayed at this inn many times and until recently have been very impressed. Last year we were disappointed with some cleanliness issues and this year there was no improvement, There was dust behind the furniture and the bathroom floor was unclean but the biggest problem was the blinds covering the door. This is a first floor room facing the garden and the blinds were in a disgusting state - many were broken and three were missing completely meaning that the security lights from the garden shone into the room all night long making it impossible to sleep. When we complained the next day we were told it was up to the owners to replace them. We expressed our displeasure and while we were out they did make an attempt to mend them - they in fact replaced the missing ones with some obviously from another room and although it worked to a point they kept falling off when opened or closed. Also there were four people in the room and one day one of our beds was not made. When we asked why we were told "it had been pulled back neatly" so they assumed it meant we did not want it made (!). The sofa was terrible, virtually impossible to sit on. The carpet had seen better days and the walls are a very dark color and as the room faces the garden with lots of trees it is always dark in the room and the light has to be on constantly. We travel with our dog and are charged $15 per night pet fee which we are happy to pay as we assume it is because the rooms are cleaned more thoroughly, We noticed that each day the carpet got messier and during the three days we were there it was never vacuumed. We asked why our room had not been cleaned and was told that vacuuming is not part of the maid service - why do we pay a pet fee? All our comments were written on the comment card in the room, expressed to a staff member and written in an email but we received no feedback from the agents. This is our favorite place to stay when we visit St Augustine so we are sorry to have these problems.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the marina are better than the garden facing rooms in my opinion,

The location is good, very convenient and picturesque. We were in room 26 which sleeps 4. Rooms 25 and 27 on either side of 26 sleep 6. I understand there is always the luck of the draw on who will be in the room next to yours but there is a major sound transferal problem in the rooms. When the A/C goes on in any room next to yours or even below yours, it sounds like it is in your room. They have metal tables and chairs, very nice, but when moving them on tile or the laminate floor, they make very loud noises that travel through the wood frame floor. With the extra people in those rooms, sounded as there was furniture being moved most of the night. The decor is old, pickled oak from the 80's. The back deck is nice, faces the marina, the table out there was covered with food grease and beer bottle caps were on the deck. It is not private and if you don’t smoke and are next to people who do, you have to stay indoors. There is a private patio as you enter the room but it amplifies sounds of the people (6) next door. The breakfast at the Fish tales was ok, we did not expect more. The 4 selections were clearly described on the back of the coupon. It was small but had out door seating. Overall, it was not the cleanest or quietest place but the location was good.

Room Tip: Top floor a must but skip room 26
