Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Filet Mignon and fresh seafood specialties. Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 110-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo. Relax in our courtyard or Mediterranean-style dining rooms, filled with hundreds of hand-painted tiles and Spanish-style fountains. We have been to a total of 4. And the one in St Augustine is our favorite. The food is awesome. The service is wonderful. And the location is outstanding.

They are in the process of redoing water/sewer lines, etc in St Augustine so we picked the closest, yet most interesting restaurant to where we parked as getting around was not easy. We enjoyed our lunch, especially the 1905 salad but it took a long time to get it as this is a large and very busy restaurant.

Love the setting. Great location. Food is always perfect. It is pricey, but well worth it. Very often on a wait, so if you go during peak times expect that. Sometimes if it is packed you can get a bar seat. Have chatted with two of their bartenders and they were both exactly what you want at the bar. Fun, attentive, and engaging with their customers. Don't pass on the guacamole BTW, worth the trip just for that.

I used to love the Columbia but over the years I have see a decline at this location. The last few times I have gone the meat in the main course has been very dry and not served with enough marinade (mind you I said nothing and did not complain). When paying over $20 + just for the main course I expect much better than what I was served. On top of the meal not being up to par again we got a delightful waiter... wait that was a joke. Our waiter was one step above rude. We could not figure out why he was treating the other tables in his section better and actually having conversations with them. Then we figured he must just not like kids and the fact that some of our meals would not be as pricey as other tables, he would get a lesser tip with us than the other patrons who were childless and drinking. So at a tab of over $100 with tip for two adults and two children not drinking liquor in the future I will take my business somewhere else, especially were we are treated better.

Our president is the great-grandson of our founder, and a 4th generation owner/operator. He always reminds us that we are only as good as our last meal, and unfortunately the service you received on your visit did not create a good impression, and it does not reflect our standard of excellence, and we apologize. We will share your comments with our manager to insure that these mistakes are corrected.

Were headed for a different restaurant downtown but due to a water pipe burst, most restaurants were out of commission for the evening... Meaning big lines at those with water, among them The Columbia. My bf was so glad when I thought to ask if we could get good at the bar... avoiding an hour + wait. Score! Our bartender/waitress, Crystal, made the meal extra special. The appetizers and dinner were fresh and tasty. Each sauce was unique and flavsorful. Highly recommend the Chicken & Shrimp Barcelona!
