Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Filet Mignon and fresh seafood specialties. Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 110-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo. Relax in our courtyard or Mediterranean-style dining rooms, filled with hundreds of hand-painted tiles and Spanish-style fountains. Was told by everyone to at least stop in and have a drink here. We went for dinner. The food was great. My steak was cooked perfectly and the famous salad is totally worth it. The service was a bit lacking. Little things, not having a knife when main course was served, and having to wait a while for it. The server not knowing what was on the wine list. It's a beautiful place, and I'll definitely go back again.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your steak. And you are correct, your service should have been better, and we apologize. Our servers are supposed to be prepared; knowing what’s on the wine list is a basic requirement, and this point will be reiterated with everyone.

The food was average at best. The meals tasted not very fresh and had no wow factor at all. Was expecting a lot more.

We've been to the original in Ybor City, FL, and this place is better. The culture of the Ybor City Columbia Restaurant tends to be, "We're doing you a favor by serving and feeding you." We found this one in St. Augustine to be much friendlier. The Cuban Black Bean Soup is outstanding - just be sure you ask for Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil to sprinkle over it. The 1905 salad is great - the full size version is more than a meal in itself.

We have been to a total of 4. And the one in St Augustine is our favorite. The food is awesome. The service is wonderful. And the location is outstanding.

They are in the process of redoing water/sewer lines, etc in St Augustine so we picked the closest, yet most interesting restaurant to where we parked as getting around was not easy. We enjoyed our lunch, especially the 1905 salad but it took a long time to get it as this is a large and very busy restaurant.
