Owner description: Anastasia State Park includes 1,600 acres of rich ecosystems and abundant wildlife. Explore up to four miles of pristine beach, the estuarine tidal marsh teeming with plant and animal life, or the self-guided nature trail which takes you through the maritime hammock and onto ancient sand dunes. You can also visit the Coquina Quarry, an archaeological site where coquina rock was mined to help construct the nearby Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, earning it a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. At Anastasia, there are many recreational activities to enjoy including hiking, swimming, beachcombing, bird watching, and much more. The campground contains 139 campsites all located within the beautiful maritime hammock and just a short walk or bike ride from the beach. Anastasia has concessions to provide guests with rental opportunities of bicycles, paddleboards, kayaks, sail boats and canoes. There is also a grill area and a small gift shop for visitors to take home an Anastasia memory. The grill location also provides Wi-Fi for visitors' use.

“Camping Trip at Anastasia Island”
Reviewed 20 August 2014 via mobile

My friends and I camped here for 2 nights in August. The park was very nice and they had a small gift shop/ restaurant and a watersport rental place in the park, which was convenient. The beach was also great, though it started getting pretty crowded in the afternoon.

We had a campsite right next to the bathroom facility which was handy. They had 3 showers and a few more bathroom stalls, a washer/dryer, and a drink vending machine. The site was pretty small and you can see all your neighbors. It was also covered in rock so I recommend you bring an air mattress or some form of padding. It had an electrical outlet, a water spout , a fire pit with a grate over top, and a picnic table.

I would go there again for the day to enjoy the beach - I'm personally still not entirely sold on the camping part in general.

“Camp near beach”
Reviewed 19 August 2014 via mobile

Spent a few nights camping here with friends. Beach is beautiful, campground is clean and well maintained. Close enough to the action to listen to the live concerts at the Ampatheater to enjoy without being overwhelmed. You may want to check their schedule if there's certain music you don't want to listen to, because you really don't get a choice. LOL!
The Beach Hut has 1/2 and full day rental of chairs and umbrellas so you can pack light. Place was mostly empty when we went. Hope you find the same.

“Beautiful views, waves and sand”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. It is wide and not very crowded even in the middle of summer. There are showers and facilities at the parking lot. It is a bit of a walk over the dunes, but the view and the beach are worth it.

“Beautiful Beach”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

Beautiful beach; not too rough surf. Long hike down the boardwalk but there is driving access. Went on a weekday afternoon and there were not many people - most were down near the car access area.

“Great park”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

Great park for bike riding! The camping area is woodsy and so you have a tree canopy over your site. A little hard to navigate for large RV's or campers. The facilities are clean enough but no AC in the summer so they are a bit warm for showering because you'll be sweating by the time you are done.
