“WONDERFUL MOTEL!”
Reviewed 4 May 2012

Clean, friendly &,quiet. We spent four days at The Cozy Inn and loved ever minute. We wanted a little more space than the Standard Room offered and upgraded to a Suite. We thought it was worth the extra cost and were lucky to get their last one. We will make sure to reserve either a Suite or Town House on our next trip to St. Augustine. All accommodations are beautiful and you can clearly see how nicely everything is taken care of.. The girl at the front desk even discounted the Trolley (sightseeing) tickets for us. You can't go wrong at The Cozy Inn - American owned and clean. Highly Recommend!

I really enjoyed my stay and would stay again. The service is very goid, the room was extremely clean and well equipped. It is close enough to the historic district for a good walk.

We stayed in the Motel part of The Cozy Inn, across the road from the Townhouses. The room was not overly large, but it did have all the amenities we needed, was quiet, spotlessly clean and very well priced. Stephanie, the manager, was very friendly and helpful, and it was nice to be able to park right outside the door. Although a hairdryer is not routinely provided, I asked for one and it was immediately brought to me. Clearly, whoever prepared the room for us paid great attention to detail! We will certainly stay there again.

usually I would never post a review about anything on the net , but as i had let the missus book our room for a trip to St.Augustine for a Flagler graduation ceremony and she had used the reviews to pick the hotel I thought it would be my responsibility to post a outstanding review based on our stay at the Cozy Inn.
If you are looking for a clean, affordable ,close to the attrictions room with very accomidating staff this is a place to deifenatly look into.
they have several different type of accomidations to choose from , we picked a small affordable room without the frills as we hadent planned on spending much time in the room.
as soon as we arrived at the room we were met with a smile and a plesent staff, when entering the room there was a feeling of clean and comfort .
as we have traveled extensivly it was impressive to find a small and affordable room this close to where the action was.
so accomidating were the facilitys and staff , me and the wife decided to stay past our original weekend plans for a extra day in St.augustine.
there is so much more I could say , but you get the general Idia...it indeed was "Cozy"

The cozy inn, 202 San Marco, St. Augustine, FL. Right next door and behind the "historic district" hampton inn (2050 ponce de leon), and near the"historic district" best

Amenities plus: comfortable queen bed, wifi, microwave, refrigerator, programmable coffee maker, dining table with two chairs; bedside table at each side of bed, big mirror over dresser.

Amenities negative: almost no shelving in closet above hangers; small closet area; no luggage rack; very small bathroom; no tub; no outlet near the dining table;

Good to know in advance: discovered an air wick plugged into bathroom outlet - promptly removed. if you are sensitive to perfumes you may ask that your room not have one of these when you call to reserve.
Other features: all standard rooms are single story and parking is right outside your door. This is a mom/pop style inn - exceptional friendly service, very clean, very quick and easy check-in.

Other comments: coffee maker was programmed by previous guest, and it went on by itself with no water - this seems dangerous. While property has wifi, no password was given out at check in. We did find the password in the info printed on the tip envelope. The room key is a real key, not a key card. There is only one unused accessible outlet in the bedroom - near the left bedside table; the (small) tv is positioned on dresser to the right side of the bed, though since it is small it can be moved and turned a bit for easier viewing. The choice for a couple is, do you want the tv, or the outlet?

Price: $69 per night AAA rate before taxes mid-week in mid April after Easter holiday.
Upgraded rooms were offered at $119 night- nearly twice the price.

Other property choices considered: Hampton Inn next door had a $75 roomsaver coupon and would have included breakfast. We were turned off by the reviews as well as difficulty when we called them to discuss the coupon rate.

Also considered staying at one of the many properties near I95, but didn't want to drive 20-25 minutes each day into the old town.

Tips: Kingfisher Grill had excellent food very reasonable price, great wait staff, view of the water and bridge from outdoor seating and you may be able to get a "free drink" coupon from the cozy inn. In the same area as the Kingfisher Grill was a great place to get breakfast or lunch called Fish Tales Market Grill. They have outdoor seating with water view outside in back, or if you prefer non-smoking outdoor seating along the side. Very accommodating to dietary needs, and inexpensive, and will do take out as well (this worked well on morning of departure as my husband picked up breakfast while I packed.) Don't miss Flagler College tour or Lightner Museum (find a docent for best experience) and eat lunch in lightner's pool's deep end - it really is neat, especially with live piano.

We only had time to spend one night at the Cozy Inn but it was everything I hoped it would be, based on the reviews I read on this site before we left. The check in was pleasant and helpful. We stayed in a room behind the main house. The room was immaculate and nicely decorated. We brought in our luggage, put a few items in the fridge and went out for dinner. After a long day, it was time to turn in, but as tired as I was, when I laid down I couldn't help but notice how fresh the bedding smelled - like it had just been lined-dried in the fresh air. The following morning, we ran into the office to check out and they made sure we had the discount tickets we needed to enjoy the day in St. Augustine. Their name suits them perfectly...it certainly is a Cozy Inn. If you want to avoid a cookie-cutter chain motel and still not spend a fortune, I highly recommend that you give them a try.

Passing through the St Augustine area and saw that the Cozy Inn had excellent reviews. I can see why. Stayed in a cottage room that is big enough for one; I think a couple would need a room in their property across the street. The room was clean and had all the basics. No traffic noise at night. The room had a strong fragrance, almost antiseptic, that took me a few hours to get used to. Other than that no complaints. It's not really close to the George St area so you are in for a walk or going to have to drive to get to the city center. This is an excellent value.
