What a find. This place is a must. Christina the manager was so heplful. From the very first minute of checking she made you feel at home. She anticipated every question we may have had. Providing us with information on local restaurants and amentities. Even provided discount vouchers. She was so helpful. The rooms were very clean and everything you needed was there. You can see why this little place is voted No.1. I would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed 2 nights not conjoined nights. First night....check in quick efficient informative for area and attractions. Room clean however small due to placement of furniture and overisize of table chairs....no room with luggage to move easily. Second night....again check in very quick as had been there earlier in week. Different room layout different. Clean rooms. Quiet. Outside well maintained. Old Florida. Personable staff. Definately on radar for return visits when visiting City again! Courteous respectful helpful staff.

Room Tip: Unit 14 was very small (all rooms are small Old Florida style) difficult to move around in. If you...

Thank you for your positive comments and your detail about our rooms! We try to have accommodations for all types of needs. Our Old Style Florida Motel Rooms are just that - meant to remind of the older Florida Style - great for those who want to lay their head down in a clean and comfortable room during their busy stay seeing the sights of St. Augustine. Larger and more spacious accommodations are available in our suites and townhouses. Thank you for commenting on our Staff - they are wonderful and we are very happy you found them friendly and helpful - That's our Goal! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

I stayed in Suite #34 and it was fabulous. Full kitchen, living room, bath. As others stated, it was clean, nicely furnished, quiet--like a home away from home. Staff was extremely nice. I've seldom left a tip at a hotel, but this place was so great that I just had to show my appreciation. My brother and I traveled to St. Augustine (where we were born) for my "Double Nickel" birthday. Could not have picked a lovelier place to stay and celebrate that milestone. It was such a fitting birthday present to myself. I've already recommended it to others and plan to go back soon with by BFF! It was so close to everything.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and sunny. Suite #34 was like a one-bedroom, fully furnished apartment--inc...

We LOVE It when our guests come to celebrate a Special Day - and "Double Nickel Birthday" is surely a Special Day! Suite #34 is one of our favorites if you want or need a bit more space than our standard Old Florida Style motel rooms. And this suite has the nice windows along the living room - looks like a garden! The Housekeeping Staff most certainly appreciate the recognition you gave them - they work so hard and that tip helps them realize that they are truly "extra special" people who go the extra mile. We are so happy you enjoyed time with your brother and look forward to seeing you again soon!! Happy and Safe Travels!

If you are looking for a room with little amenities but in a good location for exploring St. Augustine this place is great. The service was always friendly and helpful but beyond that it let a bit to be desired.

The heading of "nice motel" is great. Our standard motel rooms are small but clean and comfortable and we are happy you found it to be a great place to use as your base for exploring St. Augustine. Thank you for your positive comments about our service too - we strive for that. Your comment about this leaving something to be desired is something I am trying to follow up on. I have left messages with you so that we can discuss what we can do to improve or what amenities you desire that we didn't offer. We always want to improve and make sure all of our guests are happy. Perhaps the suites or townhouses might be more what you desire - but we really would like to learn more about what you needed that we didn't offer so that we can become better! Thank you for your comments - we really do appreciate your taking the time!

We, my husband and I, LOVED the Cozy Inn motel and would stay there again in a heartbeat! It was clean, small, but neat and quite comfortable and very close to the trolley/red train and other things of interest and we got a good recommendation for dinner at the Rain Tree restaurant.
Love it

Very few hotels, motels or bed and breakfasts are as good or better the second time you stay; the Cozy Inn is one of the few.

We came back to the Cozy Inn because my unamed Motel in Flagler Beach did not live up to its reviews, as a matter of fact it was awful. I called Martha, the most delightful young lady you could ever imagine, who I think is the Assistant Manager. She is a true hotel professional, I called and asked for a suite and told her I would be there in about 20 minutes. She gave me a fair price and said come on, the room is ready.

I checked in and paid cash for room, tax and the pet fee. I told Martha about my review in 2010 and she gave me a discount once she verified the review; really great.

THE ROOM
Actually it was the same suite as last time (2010) but with a new BAM on the wall and newer window dressings. Just as clean, just as nice, exactly how I remembered it and that is saying something because my last review was stellar; December 2010.

The suites are large, Florida bright and light with white walls, cabinets, floors and bathroom with green trim. Exceptionally nice sofa bed in the living room area and a nice white wood with white ceramic time top, matching chairs. The bedroom has a super comfortable king bed and a large bathroom with extra clean everything.

KITCHEN
Fully stocked and equiped, no dishwasher but everything else

LOCATION
Stellar, out of the noise so not totally close to the old town but right down the street from Ripley's, the Old Jail, the Park that is the site of the first Catholic Mass ever held on the North American Continent (check out the huge Cross) and the pick up / parking spot for Old City Tours. Downtown is 5 minutes.

SERVICE
Exceptional, did I mention Martha? I also chatted up the gentleman constructing the new laundry building. He is really nice and takes pride in his work at matching the new small building to the Hotel's color and design.
The housekeeping is the best, no comparison

VALUE
I think for what you get the Cozy Inn deserves its rating, which as of the date of this writing is number 1.

CONCLUSION
Great vacation hideaway in Saint Augustine that combines romance with good value

I see from the comment replies that a person named Neil is the propriorter; Neil you are doing a great job but you should give Martha a raise!! And a bonus to the guy building the new laundry house!! And maybe even tell them how great they are.

Room Tip: The Saint Augustine Tour companies will pick you up at the Cozy Inn, just arrange it with the front...

We are speechless! What a wonderful review! To have this kind of detail and positive feedback from a Trip Advisor Top Contributor means so much to us. Thank you so much! It's wonderful to know that we cared for you in a wonderful way from the initial phone call to the service you received during your stay. Your wonderful comments surely motivate all of us to keep our high standards. We are grateful that you stayed with us, grateful that you were "twice as pleased" the second time and look forward to a third! Oh - and yes - Martha and Bill (the gentleman who helped us with our building) were thrilled at your recognition! Honestly, we do tell our staff how wonderful they are - they are the only reason we can do what we do. And yes - they are waiting for their raises and bonus :) !!!! They won't let us forget about this wonderful review - so you have added a smile and lots of fun to our day! Thank you again!! Happy Travels!

This motel is very clean and the furnishings are very nice. We had two nice TVs, neither worked. After leaving a voicemail question about the TV (message not returned) we asked about it at checkout. The manager said, oh we know, TVs have not worked correctly since yesterday - would have been nice to know and not waste time trying to figure out the problem. The main issue we had was its location. It is on a busy Route1 and and we stayed in number 31. This room is advertised too have a front porch, which it does and provides you with a great view of the traffic, ten feet away (see photo). Fortunately, at night the ac noise drowned out the traffic noise except for those vehicles with loud mufflers. It's not really convenient to the historic district and sits in a very commercialized area. Some of the rooms set back from the highway may be less noisy. If you are simply shopping for a place to sleep but not care to being able to walk to restaurants, bars and historic sites, I would not discourage a stay at this motel.

Well, this is a tough review to respond to. First, we are thrilled that you enjoyed the suite and found it clean and comfortable. That’s most important. Our location is something that hasn’t changed:) . For some of our guests – it’s perfect. They would like to be away from the busy-ness of downtown after experiencing that all day long and they are happy with the local restaurants that you are able to walk to. Those guests like to walk, ride bikes, take a pedicab or have the Trolley pick them up at their door. It sounds like you really wanted to be right in the middle of everything – and we are definitely not that. We are not on Route 1. We are on the quietest street leading into town. And yes, traffic was crazy over Memorial Day Weekend – so many wonderful things were going on in town and that caused the lively traffic you saw. Some of our guests like the activity – others do not – but remember – downtown would have been even livelier. We sincerely apologize for our TV Issue. As luck would have it, our satellite TV service went out on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. We immediately called our service and they came out right away and determined that a critical piece in the dish was out. We all had to wait until Tuesday (Monday was Memorial Day) for it to be shipped. We honestly thought we had notified everyone affected. It is clear that we were unable to contact you and again, we sincerely apologize. We wish your experience had been more positive in your eyes and will work to make improvements in communication on our side. Perhaps you would try us on a less busy weekend. Thank you for your feedback. We always appreciate it.
