“Suite 112 - SPA Building - Excellent”
Reviewed 7 February 2008

My husband and I stayed at Laterra last fall and it was fabulous. We stayed in Suite 112 in the Spa building and it was spacious and very clean. The patio opened up to the pool and the water fountain outside was very soothing. We sat on the patio most evenings and enjoyed the water sounds and the surrounding nature. It was very reasonable and quiet. Whe you go ask for Suite 112 in the Spa Building beside the pool...it is a one bedroom ansd can sleep more than two people. Happy Travels!

I didn't stay at Laterra because I live nearby- but I have gone for spa services and love the place! The atmosphere is very zen and calm, the robes are luxurious (and they have them that fit every size person), you can use the steam room, relax in the round room, lie by the pool- all in addition to your services. You can bring food or wine, or they will order from the nearby country club for you. The services themselves were very good, they don't push their products, and you feel like they have al the time in the world for just you. No place in St. Augustine proper (don't know about Ponte Vedra) can compare. I think the Quick Bliss package of manicure, pedicure and facial is a pretty good deal for $155. The facility is new, sparkling clean, very tasteful- you can even get a membership if you are local.

My husband and I booked a two bedroom/ two bath condo for an eight day golf vacation with two other family members. The condo was immaculate and spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable – a vast improvement over adjoining hotels rooms for an extended period of time. The bedrooms were at opposite ends of the living room/dining room/ kitchen common areas and allowed privacy for each couple. The bathrooms were well stocked with complimentary Spa products and a top loading washer/dryer combo made keeping up with laundry easy although you will need to remember to bring your own detergent. The fully equipped kitchen along with breakfast bar made early golf breakfasts and late night snacking simple. The staff was welcoming, pleasant and prompt in securing extra hangers and towels upon our arrival. They were also able to provide an excellent recommendation for a car service to and from the airport for our arriving family members. As noted in other reviews, the housekeeping arrangements are rather peculiar in that service is provided only every other day and they often take items out such as bath mats and kitchen towels and forget to replace them with clean items or to restock dishwashing detergent tabs and soap. Forewarned, we brought a few extra towels and soap sundries as well as that all-important coffee which made things much smoother. A big plus was a Publix supermarket within easy driving distance. A call to the desk early in the day with supply requests was all that was necessary to restock any overlooked items. Laterra is conveniently adjacent to the King and Bear PGA Golf Course although the World Golf Village itself is about a ten minute drive away and the Old City of St. Augustine is about 20 minutes away but this was not a problem for our group. We were extremely pleased with our stay and plan to book there again. All in all, a very good experience!

My Husband and I travel a lot, and always book online. The Laterra Website was down and so we booked with Hotels.com. The Laterra was overpriced and located about 15 miles away from everything. The worst of all we had no Air Conditioning in our room. When my husband went down to talk to the desk, the maintance person came in and say "Yes it need to be repaired but not till monday", then handed us a key and said "move down the hall". He offered no help and left. When our stay was over they offered us a 10% off discount, but said they couldn't give it to us because we used Hotels.com. Now I'm fighting with them. We will not be back.

With a visit to St.Augustine, Laterra Resort & SPA was one of our choices and by chance. No, its not close to the Old City but the drive is short. Having six in our group, it was not easy to find a place for all of us in the Old city. But Laterra did have some accomodations and landed on a 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath with Full Kitchen, Living Room and Dinning Room and many other extras. The rooms are huge and King Beds in most of the rooms. In closer detail, the decor is High end. The lamps alone in some of the rooms are from E.L.K. We could have easily spent our two days in the Resort just hanging out but it was very refreshing to know that at the end of a full day of activities, there was a pool waiting for you and a room fit for a King. We noted the SPA which is the only SPA that carries the PGA title. The service is limited and no valet but we managed to get extra towels when needed and additional directions to other key points. Our expectations were met far and beyond what we had in mind. Make sure you know what your needs are and visit their website before making a decision. We did and highly recommend it. It was worth the chance and plan to revisit.

My husband and I stayed at Laterra resort and spa and we LOVED it! The World Golf Village was right across the street for maximum convenience and there are some great restaurants nearby and in downtown St. Augustine. We used the beach club two days and it was plush with food and not too crowded. We met some really nice people vacationing there and they also loved Laterra. Ask to stay in the Spa Building and you can easily walk down the hall to the spa. The gym is fully-equipped and nearby as is the pool and waterfjacuzzi

The apartments (we stayed in a one-bedroom, 1 bath) have a living room, dining room and kitchen with two TVs. Our unit had a fenced-in patio which was perfect for sipping coffee and eating the pastries we bought at the bakery the day before.

We really liked the variety of activity and the sense of freedom that Laterra offers. It will become our home-away-from-home every winter break from now on.

This is an undiscovered gem!

My husband and I stayed at Laterra the beginning of February.
It is located in World Golf Village and is about 20 minutes from downtown St. Augustine and the beaches.
It has a beautiful pool and very nice landscaping. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the beds very comfortable.
There is also a SPA on premises that looks very nice, though I did not get the chance to try it out.
The only problem that I saw is that this is not a low end place to stay and the fact that there is no housekeeping is odd.
I knew this before making the reservation, but I would have easily rated Laterra above average if it had not been for this issue.
It seems to me that a place such as this would take this issue into consideration and hire a cleaning service. It would be to everyone's advantage.
