We stayed for two nights on our way south. The front desk and the valet personnel were exceptional. The rooms were what one expects in an old hotel. The disappointment was the experience with food service. On the first morning we had breakfast in Cordova Restaurant in the hotel. The service was slow and the food prep was terrible. I ordered eggs over medium and my husband ordered eggs Benedict. Our eggs were cooked hard. My toast was very dry and no butter or jelly was served although it was part of the order. The waiter never returned so that we could tell him. On the second morning we ordered room service. It never arrived and no one answered the phone. Very disappointed.

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for a "preferred view." It is a view of the street.

To whom it may concern,

I would like to first thank you for your visit to the Casa Monica. As the F&B Director I am disappointed to hear about your Room Service and Breakfast issues that you encountered during your stay. I will immediately address this with both my culinary and service teams. Can you please supply me with the dates that you were here so that I can further review who worked and be able to make sure that this issue does not happen again. Please accept my apologies as this is not our service standard. We are pleased that your hotel experience was pleasant, and we would like the opportunity to have you back in on your return trip back up north so that we can provide the proper restaurant service to you. You may speak with me directly at 904-819-6089 to set up another dining experience.

Thank you,
Scott

The Casa Monica hotel is 200 years old and has been beautifully renovated. It is full of charm, with very helpful staff, nice clean rooms with great beds, okay bathrooms but limited by the age of the building and a gorgeous pool area. It's location cannot be beaten. It is block away from pedestrian only George Street and next to Flagger College and the Museum, so once you have parked in Valet only parking (very fast and efficient) for $24 a day, you can forget about the car. As I am a gold Marriott members, I did not have to pay for wifi and I had two free continental breakfast per day that were very generous but we had children with us and paid for their breakfast, which was delicious and only cost $6 but did not include drinks. Not advertised but which was wonderful as we were travelling with small children, was the fact that you could order room service and drinks around the wonderful pool, so after a long day of travel, everyone was happy and the children could swim, the adults could relax and we could eat pool side.
There are coffee makers in the rooms but there is also a rather over priced coffee shop next to the lobby that serves Starbucks coffee and baked goods. Numerous restaurants are at Casa Monica's door step, if you do not want to go into their signature restaurant which is fairly costly. Beware of happy hour at the lobby bar, you will only get a dollar off a glass of house wine.
I would definitely stay here again, it is an oasis in a very touristy historical town.
Lastly, go to the alligator Farm. It is about a ten minute drive and all ages will be enthraled.

Room Tip: Overlook the pool, it is quieter than the street.

First off, the location could not be improved upon--everything is within walking distance. This is an old hotel that's been renovated with regard to the colorful Spanish history of the city. We had two "mishaps", one very minor (it took repeated requests over a 5 hour span to obtain a rollaway--no big deal in the scope of a hotel stay) and one fairly significant mishap that resulted in messy damages to our car and some luggage---- but the manager quickly and efficiently handled that issue very well.

Very happy with cleanliness of the room. The bathroom could be a bit brighter and better designed, but again it's an older property and likely they had to work with some limitations. You will not be unhappy with a stay here, it's pricey but they have specials. Also, considering it is a luxury hotel, I think charging 9.95 for wifi is "nickeling and diming". I would expect that at a budget hotel.

The overall atmosphere and architecture of the hotel is delightful. It is located near the historical areas and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to visit. The staff was courteous and attentive upon check in and we were upgraded to a premium room upon due to being Marriott Platinum Elite members. The room was large and nicely furnished. The bed was also very comfortable.

That being said, the CONNECTING DOOR to the room next to ours did not mask ANY sounds from the room next door. We could hear everything that went on in the other room and I mean EVERYTHING. It sounded like they were filming a XXX next door. Also, all we heard in the early morning and at night was constant stomping/running from the room directly above us. If you are looking for a quiet nights rest, sadly this was not the hotel for that.

Room Tip: Ask for a room without connecting doors.

Lovely rooms, beautiful architecture and design and friendly staff. The location is perfect if visiting Flagler college as it is just a block off and on the edge of the old town and Lighter museum. Very nice cafe with good cold drinks and pastries off main lobby. If you have AAA you can request discount on your room. Parking was extra....otherwise pleased.

Went with my girlfriend to a two day conference so we only stayed one night. Very impressed with this hotel, the architecture, style and over-all appearance, especially since it's over 200 years old. The rooms were very comfortable except for the bed pillows which were too small and way too firm. All other amenities were top of the line. I wish the weather had cooperated to let us use the pool which looked very inviting. The location to the historic village of St Augustine was also a plus, just out the door and across the street. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area, and yes I would go back !

In the old town area of St Augustine--we were able to walk to all the historic areas and restaurants. We love the Kessler Hotels unique style and the service was phenomenal throughout. Everyone was professional and friendly. We liked our 2nd floor room near the fitness area and pool. Not a large workout area but enough to get by. The pool area was gorgeous. Get the package that includes breakfast--the tastiest pancakes I have ever had! We loved The Floridian restaurant right down Cordova Street for dinner. Such an adorable historic city and this hotel is nestled right in the center of it all! There are noises that can be slightly heard in your room, but nothing that would cause me to complain.

Room Tip: The handicap accessible room 263 is larger and near the fitness center and on the same floor as the...
