“Beautiful Property and Great Location!”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

Spent the weekend at the Inn on the Beach while visiting family and friends that had rented a house in the area. Location is great! A quick walk to the local Paradise Grill on the Beach as well as some local bars and restaurants. The room we stayed in was the Pelican room - a 1 queen room with a kitchenette area. The room was pleasantly much bigger in person than it appeared in the online photos. Property was quiet, but fun and the room was spotless!! Nice continental breakfast offered in the morning as well. Thanks for making our reunion weekend so successful!!

My husband and I stayed here for one night on our way to Sanibel Island from the Tampa Bay Airport. The inn is just charming with a pretty courtyard where delicious morning coffee is served daily. The location across the street from the beach entrance is perfect and it is an easy walk to the restaurants, shopping street, convenience store, pier...everything. It did not take me long to realize that Pass-A-Grille is my kind of peaceful, low key beach town with pretty houses (NO huge, towering hotels),blue-green gulf waters, and amazing sunsets. Our room, Plumeria, was a small, clean efficiency. The sleeping area was a bit tight with room for just one nightstand/lamp and the wall air conditioner is located directly overhead. Our weather was absolutely perfect so we opened the windows and did not run it. The two chairs at the foot of the bed added to the tightness...I would have preferred a narrow bench to hold our two suitcases. We did not sit at the little table but I can see how some guests might want it if eating indoors during bad weather. The bathroom had a roomy, tiled shower and was great. Our most favorite part of Plumeria was the private patio (under the balcony of the Egret unit) where we did a lot of porch sitting while looking out onto the quiet side street. After leaving town, we traveled a very short distance to Fort DeSoto to check out North Beach. Wow...so worth the nominal entrance fee even if you're just taking a peek!! We took a long beach walk and enjoyed the beauty of nature everywhere...reminded me of St. John, USVI. We would love to return to the Inn on the Beach again....one night gave us the chance to know Pass-A-Grille is a special place we would love to explore further (and just hang out and relax, too!).

We spent three nights (if ONLY we had had more time!) in the Love Shack at Inn on the Beach, along the beautiful stretch of Gulf of Mexico at Pass-a-Grille at the south end of St Pete Beach. This is how much I loved it - I don't want to write a review in case it gets all booked up and I can't go back cause they have no rooms! The area is stunning and the inn so well designed. The Love Shack is a fantastic room with a gorgeous balcony, great bed sheets haha and a little kitchen and dining area. It's 30 seconds walk to the beach and there are some great little eateries and lovely unique art galleries just round the corner. If you're a lover of huge chain hotels where all the rooms are the same then don't stay here! But if you want a fantastic holiday experience in a great location, stay here :-)

Room Tip: Love Shack :-)

Inn on the Beach and Pass-A-Grille are so quiet and peaceful! The Inn was clean, and Sheila, the innkeeper, is great. We always had fresh bath and beach towels. They also provide beach chairs and umbrellas which really came in handy. The beach is beautiful! Great for shelling, walking, lounging. We saw dolphins and sting-rays on a daily basis. You cannot beat the sunsets.

Room Tip: Splurge on an ocean-view room. You will not regret it!

The positive reviews about this Inn are spot on. Pass-A-Grille is our favorite place in Florida to get away from it all and we are thrilled to find Inn on the Beach. The website accurately depicts the rooms and amenities. We stayed in the private spacious apartment called “Love Shack” (behind the main property with its own parking space) and especially enjoyed its large outdoor deck for dining. We relaxed with the other nice guests in the common courtyard over morning coffee, grilling, or evening cocktails, yet we never felt as though our privacy was invaded. The Inn is an easy walk to shops and restaurants (we recommend Black Palm for dinner and Seahorse for breakfast), and mere steps to the beach. Strolling through the lovely residential streets is a must as well. We plan to become repeat guests at this sweet little Inn on the Beach.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique, updated, tastefully decorated and priced fairly according to size and view.

My husband and I stayed at Inn on the Beach for our wedding last spring and went back again this spring. It's a peaceful and relaxing place. Sheila and Dee and the rest of the staff are helpful but not overbearing. The layout of the hotel, with all of the rooms facing a courtyard, creates a quiet sense of community with other guests. The beach, which is just across the street, is much more natural and less commercial than other places in Florida. There's an assortment of chairs and umbrellas available to take to the beach. We never had any problems getting chairs or an umbrella. We stayed in the Egret room for both visits and spent hours on the private gulf-view patio. Inn on the Beach is within walking distance of several great restaurants. We love Inn on the Beach and can't wait to go back.

We have recently returned from a four night stay in the ‘Inn on the Beach’. It was a lovely experience. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms called ‘Sunflower’ which was beautifully clean and very well appointed. We arrived late so the room was left unlocked for us with the lights on, this was most welcome after a long flight from the UK. During our stay we visited the Shell Key Reserve ate at ‘The Brass Monkey’, ‘Sea Critters’ and the ‘Seahorse Restaurant’ – all were very good. We watched the sunset from a very cold and windy roof terrace at ‘The Hurricane’. The weather was unexpectedly cold during our stay so because of this Sheila organised a bit of a pizza party and get-together on the Friday evening which was very thoughtful and a great way to get to know our fellow guests. Nothing was too much trouble for the Sheila and the staff and should we ever return to Pass-a-Grille the ‘Inn on the Beach’ would always be our first choice to stay.
